Not that GQ, but government quarters.

I used to have a real garage, not as well equipped as most on here but comfortable and big enough to hold a "tech day" for some fellow BMW riders back in 2004:

But, where I lived was flat and all the roads were straight, and I needed to move somewhere I could ride. Thankfully, in 2008 I had the opportunity to move to California. I worked in the middle of the Mojave and didn't have a garage at all, but made do with a storage shed:

There was excellent riding nearby and I enjoyed the stay in California. But in Novemeber I had the opportunity to move to Ft Knox, KY so I took it. So here I am living on post and now have a 1 car garage.

This is what I started with:

Raw material for the "makeover":

I know the laminate floor won't hold up, it is cheap and I already had it and was going to throw it away, so I figured it would be better than nothing.

The poster is mounted on the end panel of the crate my bike came in 17 years ago. The spare tire cover is form my old 73 VW Camper I had in Italy back in the 90's.

If your only tool is a hammer....

Since there are brick walls, I had to make this framework to hang my homemade cabinets on.

Last, my "yacht":

What you've done so far has made a dramatic improvement.

Are you allowed to paint those block walls? I'd consider light to medium gray to mak them uniform in appearance. Just did this to the lower 4' of my walls that are block and it made QUITE a difference. Seal the brick with the some semi gloss clear sealer that will bring out the red and consider using green accents as red/green go great together. Finally, if there's enough head room, consider mounting your "yacht" overhead on a pulley system. It would make great hidden storage for stuff you use rarely and would clean up a small garage.

What you have done with such a small space is impressive.

Small garages...the main reason why I have never lived on base. Getting better in some places. Not in KY I guess.

Thanks for all the input!

I'll try to answer all the questions:

Can't paint the walls, I would like to but...

I've thought about hoisting the yacht but the overhead clearance is kinda lacking, may try it yet.

Yes I can ride on post but the asphalt is in horrible shape and yes there is some great riding in Ky. Very good in fact.

Yes I was at Ft Irwin, and liked it there, a lot.

Tech days? I keep checking for one nearby on BMW Sporttouring.com, where are you located?
