SC-AW11 how much do you have invested into that box? I like how all your tools are so clean.

What is your profession?

Good question. Student discount on most, when I graduate this semester I'm going to make a list and tally it all up. I'm prolly around 5-6,000 so around 10-12,000 list.
Thank you, I appreciate that. Some are dirty of course but after a job I wipe them down the best I can do in a couple mins. And on the weekends on my time I clean them up better, a little degreaser where needed, and wax the box. I take pride in my box and tools. And also the fact it's worth more than my car 3 or 4 times over lol. I could've bought the newer car I wanted too lol.

I'm a service technician at a local 76 station. Not many around nowadays. My boss and his brother worked for their dad at his, and in 83 he got his own.

I'm in the same boat as you, I also have a extreme green box and tools too haha. Graduate this semester, about 6 grand down on student discount. But my box and everything is in class so I can't really do anything on weekends... Do they supply the tools at your school or something?

Very nice selection of tools indeed!!
But I too wonder at times when I see some of these people on here that have 20 different 3/8" ratchets and it's like that for all their different drive ratchets. I just don't get it

Very nice. Get some pictures up.
School has a tool room with a lot of tools n equipment we can check out. But the give us a list of basic tools we're required to bring. So I bring craftsman from home.

Thank you very much. Well I don't have 20 even in total, I think 15 including my low pro 1/4 set. I plan on getting the 3/8 low pro and one or two 1/2 to round out/finish my collection.
But I see what you mean, I don't use every ratchet for every job, but I do like having 2 or 3 with different sizes so I don't have to keep swapping sockets. Some I use exclusively for interior work as well so they rarely get dirty n keep the car clean. Ratchets are my favorite tool. N when u get up to 20 each drive size, they're more of a collection than just tools.

While I dont have 20 ratchets in each drive size, i do have several in each drive size. As a heavy duty diesel engine and class A tech, sometimes a ratchet just an inch longer or an inch shorter, can make a job go alot quicker rather its space, or leverage.

Yeah my school has a tool room too and also when we need tools that aren't in the tool room we can ask my instructor he has a lot of tools... So I basically used the student discount to buy everything that I've ever borrowed throughout my school career except the sockets and wrenches that are over 1' and the dial indicators and the pullers. Also bought a box that I had delivered to class... Good thing I did that because it was on a flatbed carrier and the only way to drop it was forklift.

What program are you goin to school for? I'm in diesel and I wish I could work on weekends like you... It's hard to find someone that will hire only part time weekend employee.... I was only able to find work unrelated to the program... Although the hours were flexible (mcdonalds) I felt that I was putting too much time into that and not enough into what really matters (the program)
Plus I'm still finishing my last pre req class and it's a daily one right after my diesel is over every day.

Did someone say green? Here's my new box, I'm not really a green guy but it's growing on me. Definitely overkill for home use but you only live once.

Re: The Green Tools ****

Today's new additions, plus the makings of a custom green ratchet on order. My driver gave me the coozies just because I'm such a nice guy. And the ratchets were basically a buy one get one.

Before and after.. Still waiting on my side locker and carbon fiber trim. A little taller and 5 inches deeper than my old box but makes a huge difference

I've don't the same years ago with a snap on tx-72. They didn't make a comfort grip locking flex at the time so I turned the standard chrome handle down and pressed a hard handle on it. I just ordered one in the soft handle. And ordered a replacement green hard handle for a 1/4" drive so that I can make the one that I want which they still don't make.

Did you order it with the black trim or did you put it on? Just got a 1022 and prefer black over chrome trim.

Re: The Green Tools ****

I like the look of those how do they compare to the non locking?

And did u put 2 different size handles the green looks a tad bigger than the black

I can't stand the non locking in a 1/4" drive. I find myself in tight spots where I can't keep the head on the fastener with my other hand. Preference I suppose. The handles are quite a bit different in size the black handle is the same size as a hard handle pocket screw driver. The green handle is the standard size for a ratchet. You cannot put a handle that small on one of these ratchets without turning it down on a lathe because the standard shank on the ratchet is 5/16" plus the wings that keep the handle from spinning.

My green:

75th Anniversary 2pc set, still unused. (Dark green is still green, right?)

Green THLD72 just got from eBay. It's my first Dual 80........and so it begins.

And lastly a green slotted screwdriver, it was a $1 garage sale find
