Everything I've ever bought from Matco has been cheap **** at an expensive price. My buddy bus all kinds of stuff from them, but I just can't get his fascination with them. I'd buy Craftsman before buying more Matco.

Yes I know it's very misleading sleeve says made in USA and file is from India and on my set the handles say Germany to top it off

But they do cut quite well

And the snap on set is made in Portugal aswell

Yeah i have alot of different tools at work, snap on ,craftsman,hf, ********. Just over the years have accumulated. Im a field mechanic so limited to a truck for storage. My f550 weighs 20k loaded . I carry lots of parts, welder ,hose crimper, all the stuff you see commonly break among bucket a digger derrick trucks as well as ford diesels.

My home tools are all new or recently acquired . I do alot of side work as well as personal projects so i want the best of everything.

I have most of my Snap On sockets and ratchets at home. It's just too easy for someone to walk away with. My box is always locked but I work in s hospital with all kinds of people walking by that it's just too easy to grab.

I have SK at work so I'm not exactly slumming it.

I've always peeked into this board.
I too have a thing about Snap-On GREEN tools.
I got some good ideas to help my extreme green KRSC46 cart.
Thanks for that.

My tool guy knows it and always gives me a heads up on what's coming up and what he's seen at the tool shows. If there's anything you may be looking for, I could find out from him. He's the #1 guy in the area.
There's a show coming up in August.

I've been told you can buy the housings as a spare part. Around $30 AU so maybe not much more than $20US. That's from my local rep. I bought most of the micro lithium when it came out and it was all red only. I had reconsidered replacing all the bodies. Not sure on the batteries though.

Use these two 3/8" cordless everyday at work. Can do a whole transmission/clutch job with just a battery change.

For whatever reason the 14.4v on the left can get bolts loose that the 18v can't. Maybe i got a dud.:dunno:

No you didn't,that 18v lithium is a major dud!! My Forman bought him self one for Christmas and my wife got me one for Christmas last year.my forman's was **** and he had it warranty rebuilt three times since he got it,when I got mine I was loving it and did a tire rotation with it and then after that it had like no power, wtf seriously braking it in and it loses power?finally sent it out to get rebuilt last month, got it back and it's a whole different animal now ripping off all kinds of bolts, was told that it had a power supply issue as in it wouldn't pull all available power in the battery.either way it's bs that I had to get it rebuilt within 5 months of service, now wondering if I'll have to get it rebuilt again or once it's out of warranty.really starting to think about just dumping all my snap on cordless at home and invest in milwaukee.....

Thanks for the info. I'll get with the snap on guy this week on it.

I hear what you're saying about switching to another (better) brand, but it's so dang easy as snap on comes to us, and he really does take care of me for the most part.

Sorry to go off topic.

Got this Snap-on extreme green micro box bluetooth wireless speaker when I bought a brand new box off the truck, pretty neat but not sure if I want to keep it yet though. I know they're hard to come by but I might just let it go for the right price if someone was interested... :rolleyes2

Does anyone know if Snap on still sell green hard or soft handle file handles ?

I have a set of the black and green soft handled ones, I've bought some more file blades but would like handles.

The website only lists red ones

Or anyone got some they want to sell ?

I have a couple in the new instinct style but they're for a smaller file. No idea what the part number is offhand, but I do remember it was just a "G" for the color.

Hey everyone. I'm sure no body wants to give anything up, but I'd like to start a green snappy collection. If anybody has any items with the old green hard plastic handles and wants to sell them, please contact me! Thanks!

I know not snap on, but I did get it from my snap on dealer. And us real green junkies don't really care the brand lol as long as it's good. First Monster tool I've owned so we'll see

And cheaper than blue point I think too lol.
