Hope everyone's Christmas was filled with plenty of green and family. This little thing finally arrived.

Since I painted that Snap On 1740 Extreme Green I've had a few folks ask how close Duplicolor Grabber Green is to the factory Extreme Green. I took a couple of pieces of sheet metal, cleaned them, put two coats of self-etching primer on them, then three coats of EG on one and three coats of GG on the other. The EG is the larger piece, and on the vise base.

These pics show that the Grabber Green is a fair amount darker.

Some more Extreme Green in the vise world...this is a 1760. After taking the pics I noticed that the black lettering needed another coat, so I went back over them, and they look better now. I put a coat of Spraymaxx 2K two-part clear coat over the paint, and it's pretty nice stuff (if toxic).

I'm guessing you sell these? Pretty neat.

Today's purchase...

Yeah, I have fun finding them, getting them looking great and then letting someone else enjoy them. I'm not really a vise collector, I just enjoy the process. I've only sold one Extreme Green vise so far, but don't think I'll have trouble finding a home for this one. Lots of folks seem to really love the green, and I think it looks cool. I have a Wilton 450S that I think I'm going to paint in EG as a Snap-On tribute since I have enough paint left over and it'll be cool!

I really wanted an FH80 with a green handle but couldn't find one so I picked up a red one off eBay and put a green handle on it.

Here's my "Green" contribution to this thread. Some old, some new. And yes, I'm more of a tool polisher than an end user these days....:D

Repost, but new garage with some new green additions to the box...

First some PEG BOARD! ( I know it's loathed, but I like it. This is a hobby shop and I always had let board before I could swing good tools and a box. Just can't shake it for frequently used stuff. Some green on it. :). )

Box is big but looks small in the pic, no??

New addition of green screwdrivers. 14 in total, kicking the idea to trade for instincts. I know, oh the shame!!! And the ratchets are modded snap on quick release ones, because I only like quick release.

Hammer drawer and speciality Mx bike drawer. All drawers are foamed

3/4 USA craftsman set and some standard snappy ratcheting wrenches just showed up.

Lime Green Testors Model paint, glob on,let dry overnight, then take a straight edge razor blade and scrape off.
Works and stays on,I have done mine in red,so that I can see the size easily.

Doesn't it rub off if you clean the dirt and grease out of there? I put some yellow from a paint marker on a Snap On ratchet of mine and it didn't last very long. Between the dirt, grease, wipe downs with WD-40 and what ever else it only took about a 2 months and you can't even hardly tell I did it anymore.

Maybe after you do it, you should not use the tools anymore, problem solved!
