The Gunner Garage

I thought it was time to start a build thread. I had picked a couple names for the shop but I thought The Gunner Garage would be more fitting, in memory of Gunner. He was the foreman on this build and will be missed dearly.

The Gunner Garage is 28x32x10, fully insulated with in-floor heat. this is the reason for the build. I was tired of moving "stuff" to get anything done in my third stall attached garage.

I had to clear some trees that were close to the build site. The build site was actually going smack dab on top of our fire pit area. We had to do some brush burning and cutting/splitting wood.

The neighbor has a bobcat he let me use to level the ground and with the help of another neighbor, who kicked me in the **** to build this thing, it went up.

Outside is done now for the inside.

Insulation, Sheetrock, mud, paint.

I grinded the floor, too much, and started staining and sealing. This is pretty much where I am today. Hope to get the sealing done by the end of the month then start on the attached garage. It is not insulated or heated..... that will change.

Over all it has been quite the experience. I farmed out the shingles, we had hail damage and I had the crew come on a Saturday and roof it. He had a cousin that did siding, who knew, so that was farmed also. I had help from my nephew and BIL for the trusses, other than that it was me and my neighbor Bob.

Gunner sure liked the garage, he would rather hang out there than go in the house.

Very nice start. How far from the house?

Make sure you hang the appropriate sign over the door or gathering area inside dedicating the garage to Gunner.

Captain, The garage is about 30'-35' from the house.

Yes, Gunner will have his own place in the garage.
