3-1/2 Cubic Ft. Cement Mixer - Item # 67536 --- PASS

I have used this 4 times and mixed about 3 1/2 yards of concrete total so far. It has got the job done without issue. Don't forget to plug this into a GFI outlet or get a plug in type GFI since there will generally be water involved in mixing concrete.

I just picked up one of these this weekend for $50 on CL......How many 80lb bags can you put in this unit at one time??

Woah and out come the search nazis

Instead of them waiting for a reply from someone who, though active on GJ today, has only made one post this year, around 5 months ago, I thought it would be beneficial for them to search the internet for their answer instead.

There is a review on the HF site which says how many 80 pound bags they mixed at once, at almost 4000 pounds on that particular job, which may help.

The post you quoted is almost 3 years old. Why don't you look up the manual and maybe it will tell you the capacity.

I just quoted it because the mixer had already been posted....What makes you think that I was addressing the question directly to that particular poster? (I was not, but if he responded I would have listened.) Also the manual might tell you how many it can hold, but it might not be practical in real world use....HF products are notorious for claims that their products can handle, but in reality they cannot.

Central Pneumatic 1/2" Air Filter, Regulator, Lubricator
Item # 92261 FAIL

92261.jpg

As you can see in this pic below (arrow, lubricator not used but it also leaked substantialy) the mating surface was covered in a rough paint finish, it had a very fast leak. I lapped the mating surfaces with progressively finer sand paper ending in 2000 grit for a very smooth, flat surface. After lapping, the filter unit did not leak below 70 psi, but above leaked less, but still dropped the tank from 135 psi to 110 psi in 40 minutes vs the 15 minutes before lapping.

I think the biggest problem with this setup is that the bowl does not self-center on the sealing surface. if you drop the bowl in the cage, you can move it from side to side very easily. If one were to devise a method to center the bowl, you'd be one step closer to getting this POS to seal.

Since it costs more to return than I paid for it, I"m going to experiment with it. Perhaps a more "rubbery" o-ring would help? Probably not a standard size. Oh well.

I bought a set of these pick and hook sets at the same time after seeing some on here and I've been using them constantly. bought 3 more sets the next time I was in there, and they're so cheap! They feel pretty cheap because they are pretty cheap, bit they come in handy and can be bought with pocket change. Definite pass

I almost never use anymore those since I bought the bigger set ( Item#93958) on sale for $5:

which is a PASS for me.

Anyone have the 3x21 belt sander? Have a project I could use it for and don't need to go DeWalt for one project.

Bought one when my old Craftsman died, figuring I'd use it once or twice and then replace it later (when more $$$ available), with a "good" one. It's on it's third or 4th belt and still going strong.

Does anyone have any comments about the wheel bearing puller/installer

http://www.harborfreight.com/fwd-front-wheel-bearing-adapters-66829.html

I've been wanting to get one for a while now and will the next bearing job I have to do. Almost had to do one a few months ago and almost pulled the trigger but ended up needing the engine support bar more. There are a handful of posts on GJ about the HF wheel bearing puller and they all say good stuff about it minus the pulling screw. But that can easily be replaced with a better screw and nut.

I'll second this pass. I bought mine brand new last week for around 175 out the door after coupon and taxes and used it on about 12 bags of concrete. Well worth it. Even if I never use it again the 12 bags I mixed was worth the price to save my back from hand mixing! I can't say how it will hold up over time since it will spend most of it's life sitting idle but for now it's my favorite HF purchase ever and anyone that's mixed up multiple bags of concrete would probably agree after using one of these.

You put some water in and a bag of concrete mix and some more water and another bag and then add water as needed. Let mix, dump in wheelbarrow and repeat. Then go dump your wheelbarrow and when you come back the next mix is ready. Goes really fast and my back was very happy.

I haven't used the punch/flanger enough to pass it yet, but it sure is handy.

I've had mine a little over a year or so, I haven't used it extensively but at this point, if it grenaded, I'd replace it with another.

Placed a small HF order today. I guess we will see.

I don't mind shopping for items that I only need a few times.

Picked up the 3x21 belt sander for $25.

Anyone have any luck out of the power investors they have? I was looking at the 750 red one they have. Just curious if anyone has used one that lasted?

I picked up a 2.5 Horsepower 10" Industrial Tile/Brick Saw today...Got it for $199 with a coupon...Seems like a decent tool...(I had to buy the 10" blade seperately, for $29.)

I'm in the middle of a large tile/brick/paver project and my small 7" cheapo wet saw will not do the job...

Update: I've been using the hell out of this for the last month..Works like a champ...I'll give it a pass....

I just used the heck out of an older orange orbital jigsaw of theirs. Was cutting 1/4" plate steel with it because I had to connect a couple 3/8" holes which the band saw can't do. Eight holes total, distance between was about 3" and cut slots, see picture.

Heated way up but really worked like a champ and did not burn out. At one point, I continued just to see if it would burn out because I almost couldn't believe it lasted as long as it did. Didn't smell or anything.

Unfortunately, as HF has phased out the orange tools, it does not even remotely look like the ones on the site now. It also has a laser guide on the front.

PASS

1/2 in. Professional Air Impact Wrench
Central Pneumatic Earthquake - item#68424

Bought this on sale with coupon last month for $69. I put it through the test for about 30 days of continuous use on the job doing tire work at Firestone. I did not baby it at all. Zipped lugs off 150# torqued truck wheels all day. I oiled it at least every other day. The only complaint was from the tech next to me borrowed it to rotate some wheels and he said OMG you must have forearms of steel this thing is ******* heavy. OK it does weigh a ton compared to his titanium IR gun and also a lot heavier compared to my CP 734 gun. But it really whips the lamas ***! Being so heavy I will keep it at home for side jobs.

The free 6 pack of screw drivers has actually worked pretty well for me. Sure, hit them with a hammer and the handle splits, but that's not surprising when it's free.
I get it. Free is free. I dont want them even if theyre free. Id have no use for them. But using them often they will fail @ some point. I had 2 sets that rounded out on me.

Can you quantify all of that? Some of your fails I would consider a pass and vice versa for the passes.
