All the flare nuts at HF are made in India and they use softer metals and less stringent measurements. I have the Evercraft set from NAPA and it is truly awesome.

QFT, Evercraft are the best price to performance buy you can go with for crowsfeet. Not sure about their other stuff but I have a couple items of theirs that have paid for themselves at least 10x.

Good info, thanks! Yes I believe I will be investing in an Evercraft set myself.

I broke down and bought the new welding cabinet with the drawers today for $169. I'm sure it will go on sale for $149 in the next month and I'll have probably lost my receipt by then haha (my store will let you bring the receipt in to get a rebate or whatever).

I'm pretty happy with the construction. It is similar to the 4 and 5 drawer carts. The only gripe I really have is the fasteners are all threaded in to sheet metal; however, it is 16 gauge and they are approx. 5/16" screws or so with very coarse thread. I cranked them as hard as I could by hand with a P3, and they did not feel like they would yield at all. They are serrated washer head screws, so they aren't going to back out anyway, and assembly is a lot easier without having to get your arm inside with a wrench I suppose.

The wheels are pretty decent, especially considering the price. I don't expect the swivels in the front to live forever if they get wet frequently, but they are probably equivalent to a typical cheap 300 lbs caster that you'd find in a big box store. The rears appear to be good rubber similar in durometer to a truck tire, and they appear to have a fairly large bearing inside them.

The drawers are BB slides and operate just as smooth as my 44" and my 5 drawer cart.

The lowest compartment has just enough room for two hoods. I'm storing my leathers (full chaps and jacket), two pairs of TIG gloves, and my SavePhace hood in there without having to cram stuff in there.

Anyone have any experience with the 24 inch drum fan? http://t.harborfreight.com/24-inch-high-velocity-shop-fan-93532.html Searches turned up few results.

Stated CFM seems impressive compared to others with similar size.
with a coupon it will be cheaper than home depots maxx air brand. ive had several variants over the years and the only thing i can say is a direct drive fan is loud. they move air, though. keep you cooler and mosquitos off of you. lol.

usually on craigslist for 60-75 bucks used if you wanted to save a buck.

3lb and 4lb dead blow... major pass

have held up to the abuses of convincing stubborn rims to come off the vehicle just fine... a few minor dings on the 3lb and the usual set of scuffs but these are much more convincing than the **** 1.5lb hammers the company provides us

Any other reviews on the 2.5 L ultrasonic cleaner?

Solid Pass on this one! I use mine for cleaning pistol parts, auto parts, anything that requires scrubbing and will fit goes in the tank. I use Mpro 7 for gun parts, but have had good results for cleaning everything else wth a 50/50 mix of Simple Green and water. If you leave the heat element on it gets REALLY hot after about 3 cycles! The heat doesn't appear to be regulated. The display is a little difficult to read in bright light, but for the money you can't go wrong.

Manual tire changer, needs to mounted in concrete. Only good for mounting old tires on wheels you don't care about scratching/gouging/bending up. Pretty muchly tire/wheels that aren't worth paying walmart $5 to mount. Farm, trailers, junk cars/trucks, mower/atv etc.

Pass, but it's going to damage your wheels. Also takes awhile time wise.

Also want to give this a Pass:
Folding Mechanic's Pad - Item#93896
Way better than a piece of cardboard and I don't have to fight the constant tendency of a creeper to roll down my sloped driveway. Make a great knee pad folded up...easy to clean too. This turned out to be a lot more useful than I thought it would be!

Nothing wrong with the HF unit, but check this out too. Not a whole lot more, but way more durable. It's very abrasion resistant (been using it on the rocks on the trail) and has held up really well to overhead welding slag.

I think they are made in the US also.

Does anyone have any experience with the Krause & Becker Electric Paint Spray Gun? (Item #60446 - http://www.harborfreight.com/electric-paint-spray-gun-60446.html)

I've never used one of these handheld sprayers but have decided to do a quick and dirty refinishing of my bathroom which will include "restoring" the fiberglass tub/shower stall. I could roll on the enamel like it says in the kit but I did see that some recommended the finish is be better if sprayed on.

Reviews on the sprayer are all over the place, lots of really bad ones and lots of good ones. But I'm thinking the bad reviews may be people not taking the time to troubleshoot and figure out the quirks of the sprayer. If I could lay a nice finish down for this one project it'd be worth the price. And if it works well enough I'm sure I'd find other projects I could use it for.

That is a nice looking piece, something to add to the wish list. Don't see anywhere it's Made in USA but if it is...:thumbup:

I know a lot of their stuff is.

I bought my mat a few years ago out on the lakebed at King of the Hammers and I think the rack said they were. I don't remember though.

They aren't very good at listing the COO, even when it is USA. I told the guy I talked to on the phone a couple months ago that they really should advertise the hell out of it on the engine leveler I bought. It's a big selling point.

1/2 in. Drive 25 in. Breaker Bar - FAIL
http://www.harborfreight.com/12-in-drive-25-in-breaker-bar-67933.html
I was putting alot of torque on the bar while removing a wheel bearing nut nut from a Nissan Maxima with one of these and a cheater bar. The end snapped on it.

9 Pc Wobble Socket Extension Set - FAIL
http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/sockets-ratchets/9-pc-wobble-socket-extension-set-61278.html
I was removing a starter from a car in a salvage yard when I rounded off all 3 1/4" extensions on this set. Haven't had any issues on the 3/8" of 1/2", but then again I haven't used them in any tight swiveling locations.

You were using 1/4" drive tools to remove starter bolts?

The breaker bars are definitely hit or miss. I've beat the tar out of one of the 1/2 bars on crankshaft bolts and the like. It has yet to snap, but I definitely lose some torque when it flexes.

I picked up the Central Pneumatic 2HP/29Gal Air Compressor this weekend. After a couple of uses...so far so good. Its pretty quiet compared to the cheap direct drive compressors. This compressor takes quite a while to build up pressure to 150psi, but then again that was comparing it to a 40 year old 1HP/12Gal air compressor which only built pressure to 120psi.

The huge complaint I have is the location of the fill port in the pump, dumbest location as its hard to get a wrench in there to loosen or tighten the fill plug, not to mention a stupid looking fill plug in the first place. A regular plug would have made much more sense.

It did come with a little bit of oil in the pump, however I had a bottle of CH compressor oil already so I just topped it off before I started it. Once I got it setup and plugged in, I opened the drain valve and ran the compressor for about 5 minutes with no load on it. After that I just closed the drain valve and I used it about 10 minutes last night changing mower blades on my lawn tractor using a 1/2" impact wrench. It ran the wrench just fine, and I feel that with the larger tank capacity and the higher pressure rating of this compressor it will run my air tools much better :).

Overall I give it a PASS.

I upgraded from this:

Thank You Sir

I am in need of a digital scale to use for wheel weight calculations so I can measure my dirt bike rim lock weight and offset that with the appropriate amount of lead opposite of that internally.

Any feedback on either of these 2 scales? Primary use will be to measure in oz to calculate wheel weight required.

I went ahead and picked up the

Digital Pocket Scale
Cen-Tech - item#93543

http://www.harborfreight.com/digital-pocket-scale-93543.html

I dropped a nickel on it and it measures 5 grams on the nose. Should be a nice addition to the box. Its about the same size as a calculator, and has a nice protective self enclosing case. My local HF didnt have one so I took a ride to the next town and made the purchase.
