i must be the only one that bought that creeper and hate it. Middle drags on the ground for me. I'm in the 220-230# range. No i never said my board name described me.

Even if you've had it for a while, I'd take it in and see if they'll exchange it. It's rated at 300lbs. Sounds like a defect.

Same weight range here, I'm 6'1". I had one a few years ago and it also dragged on the ground for me.

Though I guess if you're in the 300+ range, you may put more weight on and over the sides with the wheels so maybe the middle wouldn't sag as much as us overweight narrower guys.

eh not worth it. Besides i just started emptying spare cans of great stuff in it, eventually it will be full enough to be sturdy.

Alright guys, I have been lurking a lot but never posted, so here goes my list of pass/fails;

1) 5 Piece Industrial Series Air Tool Quick Coupler Set (http://www.harborfreight.com/air-to...l-series-air-tool-quick-coupler-set-4873.html)

Pass - I use them on the majority of my air tools without fail or leaks

2) 25 foot goodyear air hose

Pass - Really great and seems to be very durable

3) 18 Volt Cordless Drill (http://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/drills/18-volt-cordless-drill-66965.html)

Pass - I was seriously suprised, I picked it up for $12 on sale and use it quite often. The battery life is pretty good after over 2 years of use.

4) FWD Front Wheel Bearing Adapters (http://www.harborfreight.com/fwd-front-wheel-bearing-adapters-66829.html)

Pass - They worked great, although, I prob would have just made my own if I had the time from bolts from HD.

5) 4-1/2" Angle Grinder (http://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/grinders/4-1-2-half-inch-angle-grinder-95578.html)

Pass - I used it to cut off rusted bolts on my exhaust, only complaint is it kind of bogs down, other than that, I haven't had a problem. I also used it to cut of the bearing race from a hub.

6) 3 Lb. Sledge Hammer (http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/hammers-mallets-sledges/3-lb-sledge-hammer-6748.html)

Fail at first, when I first used it, after two strikes the head flew off. I used what I had handy (silicon caulk) and its held for about a year now and I abuse it very often.

7) 6" Level with Magnetic Strip (http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/levels/6-inch-level-with-magnetic-strip-37588.html)

Pass - For a buck I can't complain, seems pretty acurate

8) Various Industrial C-Clamps

Pass - I love these, I usually pick them up when they are on sale and use them for brake jobs mostly.

9) Metal Socket Rails 1/4 through 1/2"

Pass - Only complaint is that its tough to get the 1/4" sockets off sometimes, but I'm not mad for $0.60 a piece.

10) 15-1/2" Heavy Duty Pry Bar (http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/pry-bars/15-1-2-half-inch-heavy-duty-pry-bar-2529.html)

Pass - I use this all the time, very sturdy, I might pick up another just for the hell of it :bounce:

11) 32 Piece Screwdriver Set (http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/screwdrivers/32-piece-screwdriver-set-90764.html)

Pass on the actual screw drivers, fail on the mini ones, on the mini screwdrives, the handles shatter under any stress.

12) 1/2" Drive Click Stop Torque Wrench (http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-t...-inch-drive-click-stop-torque-wrench-239.html)

Major Pass - I got it about 3-4 years ago on sale for around $10, still use it to this day without issue.

13) 52 Piece Socket Set (http://www.harborfreight.com/52-piece-socket-set-35338.html)

Fail for automotive use - On a tough caliper bolt, the 1/2" rachet broke and no longer rachets, just spins freely. I also have broke abunch of the sockets on automtive use. It may be good for household stuff though.

14) 9 Piece Metric Highly Polished Combo Wrench Set (http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-t...c-highly-polished-combo-wrench-set-42305.html)

Fail - I bought the Metric ones, they are very inaccurate, I may have got a bad batch, but everytime I have used these they have stripped the bolt :(

15) Brake tool set

Major Pass on these - use them a lot for the past 3 years.

16) 4 Piece Funnel Set (http://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/funnels/4-piece-funnel-set-744.html)

Pass - I usually pick them up when they are under a dollar, I have tons

17) Electrical Tape

FAIL - I hate the stuff, it doesn't stick, but they are super cheap, so I am not too mad

I am sure I will think of more and post another onces I start thinking about it

ahh, some more came to mind

1) 1/2" Electric Impact Wrench (http://www.harborfreight.com/1-2-half-inch-electric-impact-wrench-45252.html)

Pass - I have used it a few times over the years with stubborn bolts, no problem. My only complaint is that its pretty bulky, I want to try it on a lug nut and see if it has the power.

2) Engine Oil Pressure Tester (http://www.harborfreight.com/engine-oil-pressure-tester-92687.html)

Pass - Seems acurate, only used it a handful of times

3) 6 Piece Garden Hose Quick Coupler Set (http://www.harborfreight.com/lawn-g...iece-garden-hose-quick-coupler-set-34870.html)

Pass - Not much to say

4) Headlamp

Pass - Use it all the time working on the car

I like the cheap digital calipers. You can catch them on sale for 7.99 quite a bit. I keep a set beside my recliner for general measurement but use it most to measure guitar strings. Reads perfect with the standard that came with my starrett dial calipers

I have used this thread a few times to check out tools before I was going to make a trip to harbor freight. Today as I was reading it a thought came to mind. Since it is fairly unrealistic to expect someone to read all 75 pages of this thread, if I were to create an excel sheet with the HF part number, a description and a ratio and percentage of pass/fails based on the posts would there be someway to attach it to the thread or make it visible to other users? It would allow you to look up a tool you were considering by number rather than having to do a search and hope you called it the same thing somebody else did.

Now that I have that off my chest... Good Idea or Go Away FNG?

If you could convert that excel file into a pdf you could attach it. Nice idea if you got the time on your hands.

Great idea. If you spend the effort, it will be much used. Go for it.

It is not as valuable now that Harbor Freight has reviews on their website IMHO. The number of reviews are growing and they seem to be accurate.

Cheers!

I'd rather rely on what people here have to say than what is on their web site, and not that much is rated yet. Who knows if they selectively post or edit the reviews??

6 piece star bit screwdriver set-These are great! i was worried at first if the tips would fit well or strip but they fit very snug and have not stripped yet.

Not bad price also $5.08 after 20% off and tax. half the price of kobalt, husky, and craftsman:thumbup:

I agree that they are a decent driver, but I have one problem with them. They don't have the size on them anywhere. It's pretty hard to tell the difference in a T-25 and T-27 without testing in the bolt or comparing the tips side by side. I engraved the sizes in mine, but it is a lame oversight to leave the labels off in my opinion.

hey guys, im new here and figured i'd chime in on my HF experiences.

nitrile gloves - PASS
3 ton jack stands - PASS
heavy duty 4 1/2" angle grinder - PASS (i dont own one but use it at school and it's had a rough life. part of the back plastic housing is gone and its seen better days but it still works really well. its at least 2 yrs old i'd say)
1/2 drive earthquake impact - PASS (again i dont own one but will soon from what i've experienced by using my coworker's that he's had for 5 years now and it looks like its seen better days)
slipjoint pliars - FAIL FAIL (the adjusting teeth are rounded and when you adjust them and then try to use, the rounded teeth slip on each other and the pliars open up all the way. pure junk)
linesman pliars - PASS/FAIL (they still grab but never could cut)
needle nose pliars - PASS
side cutter pliars - PASS (not as sharp as better brands though)
3/8 stubby gearless rachet - PASS (real handy in small working conditions. only bad thing is the sockets are kind of hard to get off)
5 set wooden handle ball pein hammers - FAIL (until you put a new handle in them, then they pass)
3/8 speed wrench - PASS (dunno how rough you can get with it though)
flare nut wrenches - PASS (i've had pretty good results with mine)
mini orange handled picks - PASS
black handled plastic, brass, and steel brushes - PASS (but barely. dont expect much use out of them depending on how you use them)
real simple yellow handle wire strippers - PASS (barely. got tired of messing with mine and got a pair of blue points now)
the insanely long needle nose pliars - PASS (if you close them hard enough though, the handles start to bend, & it doesnt take much pressure to do that)
2 1/2 ton jack stand - PASS (my dad used ours to jack our tractor off the ground from one of his "uh oh" 's so it's stout. i've used it on my truck with no problems)
red, 2 wheel dolly you see outside at some stores - PASS
mover's blanket - PASS
4000 or 8000lb cable winch puller (cant remember which) - FAIL FAIL FAIL (helped some friends get an old international scout out of the woods and we tried using this but ended up using an old one that was my grandfather's! you'd be better off to get out and push than to waste your time with this.)

i've heard of people using their impact sockets for 10+ years so evidently they must be doing good something there. the pliars that i listed above were the ones that came in the 8 piece set. my cowoker does service calls sometimes for a guy that he knows and uses one of their trailers as a service trailer. he says it does its job good

40591 3/8" Ratchet - PASS

48 teeth, and quality construction. I had a situation where I had to remove a stud in an exhaust manifold flange with a cheater pipe on the handle of this ratchet extending it's length by about double. I pulled as hard as I could with both hands on the end of the pipe. Ratchet is just fine.

1793 4-pc Socket Adapter Set - PASS

I have two or three of these sets now. Great chrome, good fit, and have never had any issue with any of the adapters.

Yes, great ratchet for light duty and cold weather work. Very smooth. Gotta watch the ball releases though. I've had to return two because they seize up. It's an early failure. It seems if the work the first few times, they continue o work.

The Pittsburgh 10-26mm long chrome open/box wrenches with missing 13mm and 16mm ****. I stripped a 10mm and a 14 mm bolt today using the box end on both. Complete trash if you ask me. I really wanted these to be great cause i dont wanna dish out cash for a tool truck set, but i will. Theyre alright if you dont need much torque, but then why make them long? Ill toss em in a bottom drawer and see if i can use em for something one day. I cant see how these would work even for a weekend/hobby mechanic.

For the record, i am not a HF hater. I like alot of HF stuff, but some stuff just isnt up to par.

Are these one of the sets made in India?
That seems to be warning...

I bought one of the H-F made-in-India long pry bars. It has picked up the nickname of "the Indian butter knife".

I'm sure this is a repost but...

PASS: 3000lb aluminum jack that has a coupon in every magazine ever printed
image_2331.jpg

It's not as good as my other aluminum jack, but I could have a half dozen of these for the price of that one.

Pass for me as well, for now. Lifts my Mustang and my gf's Focus with no problems. Slow pumping, but that is to be expected. I store it with the valve open.

I've read a few posts where people are dissatisfied with these wrenches. I bought the set of metric long handled wrenches about three years ago because I needed a long 17mm wrench to reach the top mounting nut of my rear shocks. It worked really well. I recently used the box ends of my 17mm wrench on one car's calipers and the 10mm wrench on my other car's calipers. Pass for me.

I wonder if my wrenches were manufactured in the same place as the ones being sold these days.

The long handle wrenches, and box end (both ends) wrenches they sell now seem to be garbage. I ended up selling them at a garage for about what I paid for them. Not worth the hassle of rounding a bolt head. I think they're all made in India now.

I have the same set but mine was missing the 15 instead of the 13 like they are now. Mine are about 3-4 years old and are very tough. I kept a set in a secondary box I had across the shop form my big box. They got used often by my tire guys, oil change guys and my alignment guy. Never broke a single one and the only issue is no 15mm. I bought a Craftsman pro to fill the hole. They cost me like 19.00 at the time. It was worth that for the 26mm alone. I hate the new ones are ****. I thought it was one of the best sets for the money. The SAE set is just badass.

Where are the new ones made. mine are China I think

I just bought a set of these because I needed a 24mm. The long handle worked out fantastic cuz it was a suspension bolt. I'm not impressed with the quality of the rest of wrenches but I do think they will do their job.

Mine are made in china. I took them out of my roll around cart and put em in the toolbox. Im sure ill grab one from time to time but for every day use im going back to my flex head gear wrenches. Looks like I'll have to dish out some cash for a good set.
