I bought one of the 10" 60T carbide table saw blades. 20 bucks and so far cuts like a dream. Only problem.............it "sings" like crazy. I'm trying to figure out how to stop that.

Has anyone used item 95793?

Wow did item 45860 jump in price.. it went from $119 to $189 now..

Hello, subarub4,

We certainly do appreciate your enthusiasm for HF products.

However, not all of us have the HF catalog memorized, nor do we have it bookmarked for quick reference. :wtf:

You may want to consider describing the HF items that you are referencing.

Thanks, and cheers!

47844 clamping work bench / workmate clone I'll give a pass to. I bought two of these for my dad, they seem very sturdy and stable. The top faces of the MDF are easy to chip but I don't think it's a big deal for the price, if I have to replace with A/C marine plywood it'll still be a cost savings over a Black & Decker Workmate. I initially wanted to buy my father a true Workmate but wasn't happy with the one I looked at in Home Depot this week and I'm glad I ordered these over theirs.

I pickup up a couple workmate clones last year at Menards for I think around $10 or $15. Works as a decent miter saw stand using a couple C-clamps.

Anyone have experience with the HF 3/4" torque wrench?

their torque wrenches are a big fail.

the internals of mine broke after a few weeks of use.

I recommend the craftsmen torque wrench, i think it typically goes for 129.99 or so. Very very good wrench.

What's funny is that multiple people have commented on the torque wrenches before on here, and have reported that they are durable and, supposedly, very accurate.

You are the first person I have seen post here that didn't like the HF torque wrenches. Both of mine have worked great for what they are and are pretty accurate compared to my snap on wrench which I have calibrated when needed.

Yep. Never had a problem. They always passed calibration tests. One of the best values at HF.

Also the first person to say the Craftsmen torque wrenches are any good. The locking rings always break, the internals come loose, and they don't hold a cal. Just had a fairly new Craftsman fail on me this Summer. Everything I could find online said the HF ones are very good. Ran across a post by a guy who claimed to be a professional calibrator and he said the HF and Husky brand wrenches hold their cal as well as any Snap On. HF wasn't having a sale that weekend so I bought the Husky.

FAIL- Their new coupon Policy

Guess I'm lucky here cause the HF I go to doesn't have any type of notice on what to or what not to use the coupons on. I haven't tried it on any big item but if it's not posted or on the fine print, what leg do they have to stand on.

Amarillo's HF has the notices laminated and posted EVERYWHERE. Don't know if my next three closest stores (Lubbock, Abilene or Wichita Falls) do, or not? Anyone??

Can someone elaborate on the new HF coupon policy? :headscrat

There are a couple threads in the last month about it. Not sure all the details but from what I have read it is they can no longer be used for "big" items like tool boxes and welders and things.

20% coupons are the main fuss and what happens seems to vary by location.
Free flashlights disappeared at my (SoCal) store, but I got another last time I made a purchase.
Other free items appear still available, but maybe the purchase is now required.

Main thing, PRICES have taken HUGE bumps recently, so shop with care.

I'm kinda glad they make you buy something if you have a free coupon.. that was so wrong for regulars just to do that..

and yes prices have been going up which does more harm then good..

I'm glad i got all my stuff awhile ago.. speaking of that my 10 gal air compressor is now a year old and still working great.. Just used it yesterday when it was 38F outside.

I love this air ratchet the more I use it now

Except the HF's new coupon policy regarding making a purchase to get the free item is ILLEGAL when the coupon says NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

It isn't wrong for people to interpret and use the coupons as intended. It is wrong for HF to realize they were made a mistake and then alter their policy on accepting valid coupons that they printed and distributed.

I have also noticed this. What used to be a good deal is now almost as expesive as other brands. HF has some decent tools and some junk. I'm not going to pay close to prices at tooltopia on reputable name tools for a gamble at HF. I think they are shooting themselves in the foot. They built the business by offering cheap prices and now some of there stuff is close to reputable brands. I wanted to get some things in the last couple months but moneys been tight so held off. Now the prices have gone up 30 to 40 percent in only a couple months. So even with the 20% coupon I think I'll keep saving till I can afford better. If they run sales and allow you to use a coupon some things might be worth it but I think their prices are way high for what they offer.

Their best sale prices have stayed pretty darn good. Some of their sale prices are much higher than others. If Duralast or similar is cheaper I would buy it. A true name brand near it price wise I would go for that but in many categories HF is still much cheaper and easier to warranty.

What I like about this particular piece of their policy change is that those who get upset about HF requiring a purchase were not likely making a purchase anyway... so now those couple of people at times ahead of me in line won't be there so I can get in and out quicker.

People has been getting free stuff for so long and now that they are going to cut back ..... it pisses people off because they feel a sense of entitlement.

It is a double edge sword of economics. American made tool will see a bump in their exports because out dollar value has been depressed. HF and Walmart will see prices increase because they import most of their stuff. A USD will not buy as much anymore. Companies that are surviving on the edge of collapse will feel the heat if they sell mostly import goods. I suspect Harley Davidson sees an increase in export as their bikes are very popular in other countries as well. Depends on how much they buy in terms of foreign materials to build their bikes. There may be some offset there.

HF seems to have a new tool box and it seems pretty damn good. I wish I could remember the dimensions and drawer count. It was red and had a finish like the black tool cart and 56" box. At any rate I pulled out one of small the drawers (roller drawers) out and put a good 60+ lbs on it and it didn't budge. Had good drawer action and seemed to be of excellent build quality. Any one else seen this?

Pre-emptive PASS.

got the same one, works great.

got this angle grinder for $9.99 with a super coupon. it gets up to speed and slows down much faster when shut off than the $19.99 orange one they have, but it packs nearly the same amount of power and rpm, is much lighter, and it has a momentary switch with the ability to lock it in the on position. and i couldn't beat $9.99! gonna go get another one so i won't have to change attachments.

boo yeah! used the same coupon and bought my second one last week so i have a grinding wheel and wire wheel:thumbup: although its my first grinder and i havent put it to use that many times, i liked the performance. I much rather have a few of these with all different attachments and pay less then 1 brand name one with one attachment and pay more..
