My Hobart 210mvp just got in and I am looking at the HF welding cabinet #61705. With 45 reviews it has 5 stars and there was a you tube video of a guy comparing it to the northern industries. Seems to be a good product. Anyone against it and if so why?
It is on sale for $170 and with my 20% It would be $136. Not sure where everyone gets 25% coupons from I only get 20%.

I would give those a pass in my case. I have two sets and use them in an aircraft hangar to shuffle airplanes around. Not as much weight as a car but close. Before I put them in service I lubed up the bearings in the castors with lithium grease. Like many HF products you have to work on them a little bit before you use them. I would buy them again if I needed more.

Just kidding. I use 'em at my hangar as well.
Mine were pretty tough to move on smooth cement with the weight of a car til I upgraded the wheels
It had three drops when I first bought it and three more the day I used it, so I doubt it's over oiled.
I do not have a water separator on my tank but I've never had an issue with any other airtools.
I let the impact sit overnight so any oil could make it's way out and tried it again today...Still doesn't work.
I can spin the chuck cw and ccw but can't get it to power itself.

It will not work on the welding cabinet. You can check by putting it in the online cart and trying to apply the coupon. If it won't work online, it will get rejected by the system in store.
If you look at the pic below you can see that the system applied the 20% off code to the $99 impact instead of the $170 cabinet.

if you have a light vehicle, they may be ok and if you have no cracks or seams in your garage you'll be ok. i have old land cruisers (2.5-3 tons) and as soon as i hit the seams in the floor, the corner where that caster is just buckles. i've buckled four of them now. won't buy any more

Which engine stand? I have the 1000 lbs with four wheels and its been outside with a fully dressed SBC with AC and everything for two years now. Have to roll it around a couple times a month over big cracks in the concrete.
Do NOT try to flip a long block V8 without a second person though, it is not stable enough for that Lol. It handled a Subaru EJ25 long block just fine though.
I would use a small hammer to tap the forward/reverse fully home in both directions a few times to make sure it was fully seated. My old bluepoint would do the same thing if it was even a fraction from fully home in each direction. I was taking a socket and rapping it home until I bought my HF earthquake, which works flawlessly.
C Clamp these are almost dangerous!
I went to tighten a piece of metal down on my drill press with these clamps. I needed to drill a 2" hole in a piece of 1/4" steel. The first one snapped. Ok grabbed the second on I just bought went to tighten that one down, yup snap (neither were tightened with a wrench only by hand). Thank goodness it did not snap when I was drilling on the machine. That would of really been bad. Anyway this is the one I am speaking of.

Okay, here's what I have for PASS/FAIL - apologies for not knowing the numbers, tossed all the packaging once I got it.
3/8" Roto-head ratchet - PASS (excellent handle, excellent rotation)
1/2" SAE 12pt sockets (Pittsburgh Pro) - PASS (nice chrome, good grip)
1/2" Metric 12pt sockets (Pittsburgh Pro) - PASS (nice chrome, good grip)
1/2" Extendable ratchet - PASS (doubles as a breaker bar!)
Digital Torque Wrench w/ converter kit (~$30) - PASS (takes a lot of getting used to, don't lose the manual!, works great when you understand it)
30pc SAE Tap and Die set ($15.99) - FAIL (can cut nice threads in softwood, zip in soft metal)
75pc SAE Titanium Tap and Die Set (~$80) - PASS (can cut threads in most metals with oil)
12" Medium Duty Ratchet/Spreader - PASS (good enough grip, easy to use)
Combination Mortise/Marking Gauge - nominal PASS (mine was the only one without copper tarnish on it and intact wood, the rest looked like some water got on it in transit)

what's a ratchet / spreader?
The selector clicks through all positions, it just won't turn under power. It only turns by hand. I got my aircat today so either way, it's getting returned.
Moot point, but the selector is for torque settings, you push it through the body for forward and reverse. I think we now know why you are the only person to fail this tool.

Pass/Fail ? Well...maybe. For $200 [with coupon], I can't complain much. It's worked pretty decently. I haven't been too thrilled with it's ability to keep good tension on the spindle belt at low rpm/high torque..but I suppose something has to give.
For $200, it passes. But if you could get a nice used/better machine for another $100 or so, I'd do it.

Earthquake 3/8 impact- huge pass, light and lots of power, more than enough for anything Im doing with the exception of the crank bolt on my girls Honda
1/4 Micro ratchet- pass, not meant for torque but its quick and its really handy in tight spots. Its pretty loud though
3" Composite Cutoff- pass- lots of power and very light without feeling chinsy. Pretty quiet and I like the speed adjustment and being able to adjust exhaust direction.
All air tools get the big 3/8 fittings on the Flexilla hose.

if you are talking about Item #69221 I disagree because with a strong squeeze the handle pin breaks. Or would that be the trigger pin. I have taken them apart and drilled out the plastic pin and put a machine screw in it's place. Now it last longer.
Picked up the 6" digital vernier caliper today. Planning to use it while we finish up our FSAE car at school. We're always losing/breaking expensive calipers and I'm not too concerned about destroying this one at its $15 price point (with 25% coupon).
The adjustment roller seems smooth and the quality is quite surprising for the price. Seems to be accurate within half a thou so far. Planning to test it against a Mitutoyo on Monday.

They work great, batteries are always dead when I need them though
.Mine works great. Got it to replace the MAC unit that I took to work. Got it on sale for $65. At home I run about 90PSI and it has a lot of torque.
