Might just be the pair my coworker got but the tongue and groove pliers he has are junk. They open up as soon as you start to use them.

I had a pair of the orange handle T&G pliers in my desk at school. Using them one day, the two pieces slid past each other and pinched the skin in the palm of my hand. Hurt like %&$*%))!!! and I had a bruise for several weeks. That is the only tool I have ever actually thrown away.

4-1/2", 6 amp angle grinder, HF #65519 - Pass.

I've been looking for another angle grinder to go with my Dewalt DW402. It gets real old changing back and forth between grinding discs, flap wheel and wire wheels. I decided to get one of these on Saturday. On Sunday I used it off and on for about 4 hours on a welding project grinding welds and chamfering steel. While not an extensive test, it worked just fine and felt about the same as my Dewalt. The paddle switch is nice too. It has a small lock lever on it that prevents the grinding from turning on if laid down on the paddle. Something the Dewalt does not have. Definitely makes it safer.

One thing I've learned abouy HF power tools. Its a good idea to run them on and off with no load for 5 - 10 minutes before use. I think this helps the bearings and gears get broken in and seated before they are put under a load. Every tool I've done this on has continued to work just fine.

I do this with all there bench grinders and buffers. Silky smooth big 8 inch bench grinders. Have 4 of them all work fantastic

This. I've broken in every one of my HF power tools this way and have not had ANY problems with any of them. No need to spend the big bucks unless you really feel the need to. My 1/2" drill, palm sander, DA polisher, angle grinder, heat gun, multi tool, circular saw, jig saw, hell even the mini rotary tool, all perform just fine and I've been using them a lot lately with all my home renovation projects going on.

Think I posted before about the difference between the 69645 grinder and the 60625, the first being the one with the switch on top and the second having the switch on the side. Bought a pair of them while on the road, and wound up with one of each, managed to get the 69645 exchanged for the 60625 at the next HF I came across. The 69645 switch is somewhat cumbersome, and it comes without spare brushes. The 60625 comes with a spare set.

Anyway, guess which part number went on sale for $9.99. :spit:

And yes. I think that little break in run helps.

As a DIYer for automotive/motorcycle stuff the 3/8 and 1/4 flex head ratchets are a major pass for me. They have a pretty slim profile as well that has gotten me into some tight spots on my Audi.

Add the 1/2 to this mix as well.

Rickster. On the angle grinder situation. FYI. I HAD ONE FROM HF as well as a performax from Menards. Both had NO grease or oil in the gear train at all they are cheap gear trains to be sure but I experimentally put STP in both ( unsure about seals) but both still run reasonably well

I took advantage of your coupon site today. I pasted a few coupons to an email to myself and then printed the e-mails out. I used the Bauer band saw coupon and got the difference back remember I paid $139.00 for mine. I also printed out the free micro fiber cloths 4 pack and the coupon for the DRILL MASTER 60625 angle grinder. I used the $9.99 one.

I cannot rr the model mentioned above that had the extra brushes but I will know when I open it. I have a 4 1/2 Dewalt for my grinding needs but I too get tired of changing between wire cup brush and a cutting or grinding disk. I will put the cup brush on the drill master . Even if I only get one summer out of it , it is only 9 bucks I will just buy another if this one does not electrocute me or fly apart or set fire to me or...... Think positive I say and grind on ! Thank you Lefty

I tried to say " cannot remember the model".... in the first line of the second paragraph. But when I was editing to say thanks my curser kept deleting letters in the word remember till all that was left was some r's and too many of them! Why when I try to edit a word every time I type a letter the next in line disappears?

Where is the coupon for the free micro fiber cloth? I search the coupon site but did not see it? Thanks.

The free ones are junk, 100% polyester. Wait till the 12 pack goes on sale for $4 and stock up on those. They have an 87-13 or 83-17 polyester/polyamide blend and are actually good towels.

Just got an email notice today about sale March 10,11, 12. The 44" tool cabinet is down to $339. I might have to pick up a second one. They are really churning these things over.

Yup, no problem. I had to find out the hard way. Regardless, try to check the tags on the towels before you buy them. They change the blend every now and then and sometimes they don't make note of it on the packaging.

I wouldn't use them to dry or remove wax on my vehicles, but they still work well for cleaning up spills, scrubbing stuff, etc.

Before I sold my Forester, I used HF microfiber towels religiously on that car when I would detail. It was black, and Subaru's are notorious for having very soft paint. I never had any issues.

Honestly, I stocked up on higher quality microfiber and assorted detailing supplies from The Rag Company awhile ago so I use those for the cars I care about.

I've noticed the prices on tool cabinets is dipping lower, so I have to wonder if a "brand name" change is in the works for them. If so, I'd expect a price bump on the new models.

They're excellent chests now, but if this were to happen, I'd expect: color choices, possibly a matte finish option, drawer latches via each pull handle, LED lighting.

I stopped by on Friday and got my 18pc hole saw set item 69073. I am very surprised by how heavy the set is I bet it weighs 1 1/2 pounds or more. I very seldom ever need one so this will be fine plus the arbor looks like it will work with some old saws I have too. Then I proceeded to isle 12 to get my free $12.00 value 4 piece screwdriver. The only one I saw said $1.00 on it not $12.00, soo I hunted up a helper type person and told her what I had found. She said yea they are right over here and led me back to the $1.00 screwdriver. I said well I did not think that was it, the coupon says a $ 12.00 value. This one says $ 1.00 she looked at me like " dude are you serious" yea this is the free screwdriver. So it is on my window sill now "off gassing the cheap Chinese rubber grip smell" It smells pretty awful but it will be in my Ranger's glove box so that will be ok.

I'm on my second set. I can't say how many toilet flanges/bends I've cut in sub-floors or how many can lights I've cut in both drywall and plaster...Round remodellers boxes too. I've abuse the piss out of it. Well worth the little bit of money.

In fact this is one of the best HF values and I can't believe I never thought to post it like you did.

I used mine last week to drill some holes for grommets in my wife's computer work station. They worked great.

How about the 3 piece impact adapters? I have a set of 1/2 and 3/8 impact sockets but I have a Campbell Housfield 1/2 impact gun. So even though I have the 3/8 sockets I had no way to use them on the gun. That is why I just bought the adapter set. 67936 is the item number it has a 1/2 to 3/8 , a 1/2 to 3/4 and a reducer from 3/4 to 1/2 I think this will come in very handy. I only use the impact maybe 30 min per year but when I do I may need these adapters.

The Tools section and look for General Tool Discussion. This thread should appear close to the top of the list, because it's pretty active topic.

Thanks, I checked today when I was out and the Pittsburgh Pro 1/2" impact were Chinese.

This is interesting. I wonder if the Pittsburgh Pro chrome sockets will inevitable become Chinese COO and be offered in more complete sets without skipping common sizes?

I just read them the code off my phone. I also have a 20 percent off coupon with no limitations printed in fine print. It expire 1 August 2017. I just took a photo of it and keep it on my smartphone. It can be used over and over again, and on anything. But I only use it occasionally. There are lots of different 20 percent coupons and lots of freebie coupons I use as well. With a store only a mile away, I'm there regularly...

Still doesn't work with the normal excluded items that are on the regular 20% off coupons...i.e. air compressors, storage chests, etc.
