I just finished up another one for a friend at work. I think she said it was going to be a gift for a cousin that just had a baby boy. So it has two flickering thunderbolt night lights.

Looks great! Awesome job! Ive scoped the net looking for a light socket that tucks into the fitting so deep. Can you post a picture or better yet a link to where you are buying these from. Thanks in advance !

Thanks for the kind words. I honestly can't point you to anything special on the socket front I use standard candelabra bases for these lamps I just custom modify the fittings to accept them. In this lamp I use one of these fittings for the head, and one of these inside the thunderbolt shaft. I had to turn the fittings on a lathe to get them to fit the sockets inside. However a 23/32" drill bit will also open up a 1/2" NPT internal pipe thread just enough to accept the socket. I also put a small #6-36 set screw in from the side to prevent the fixture base from turning when screwing in or taking out the bulb. I hope that helps. Another option is just to buy a lamp from me :rocker:i don't charge too much .
Cheers,
Jeremy

Jeremy: i think you found your NICHE with these cool little lights. the new versions almost look ALIVE.

hoping you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a better 2017 than 2016 even though i'm guessing 2016 was pretty good for you and your family.

cheers (ice tea for this old guy usually)

Thanks xtremek. Speaking of Christmas I was able to get one totally new lamp done and delivered as a present for my nephew. I have no idea if he likes it or not but a few other do.

Jeremy: you are getting pretty good putting together all this old pipe. hope all is well in your part of the great PNW. i haven't had a trip down your way for quite a while now cause those 6-12 hour drives just take too much out of me at my age.

also not sure i could stay off GJ for that long either. :D

hope to get down your way maybe after my daughter's wedding this spring cause i need another OREGON COAST FIX.

cheers and have a great weekend.

in case you hadn't seen me post this yet i just found this little 600 pound rotating bin so maybe it will help cure my FSD (flat surface disease)

Drives: thanks for checking in. That bin is a beast and will fit right in next to your selves. Congratulations on your daughters wedding. I am sure she is going to love the chair you are working on.

As for my lamps I think you are right I seem to have found myself a nice little niche making these things and it is keeping me busy and entertained.

He is my latest one. It went to a friend of a friend that I believe lives in Hawaii.

Also recently our little area of western Oregon pretty much shut down due to snow. But it made for pretty pictures.
