Those Gorilla 20" platforms are extremely handy for painting near the ceiling, as benches, and as saw bases (as pictured here). I tend to wander over to Lowe's with the HD ad and get them to do the 110% price match to get it even cheaper. No chance of Lowe's running out of stock since they are not on sale there. For the past few years, these were on sale for $19 on BF, this year HD will have them for $17! Excellent product, highly recommend.

Only thing is if the metal is thin like the one I have then I would think it would be only good for home use

Two are worth mentioning:

The Husky Total Socket. When you get this as a gift, it will totally displace the 2011 dogbone multi-wrench in the prestigious back lower corner of your toolbox, where it won't be scratched by accidental contact with a fastener. That's why I prefer to purchase online and choose pickup in store or order enough for the free shipping. Sometimes you can combine online coupons and beat the in-store prices -- especially at Kohl's and JCPenney.

For the big box stores with the 110% price match guarantee, it's often best to go to the competitor if they have the exact same item for an even better deal.

Haven't had any issue between Lowe's and Home Depot, but many other stores specifically refuse to price match Black Friday ads (usually on electronics such as TVs).

i got the 42" version or whatever the length was for $300 at lowes earlier this spring. It was a awesome deal, came with top and bottom pieces. Is pretty nice as well. It is for home use, not sure how it would hold up in a professional setting.

Out of all the ads, Home Depot actually has some pretty good deals. Sears has those welded 30" Gladiator cabinets for $120. For those not willing to give up family time to battle the hoardes over electronics, these seem to be the only two stores with worthwhile deals, imho.

The platforms are annual repeats. I bought the gorilla models last year. The cross supports are not a great design and mine were covered with cardboard when purchased. In January when I unwrapped them to use the, the supports were all bent. I had pulled them out of the packing box in Nov.

I was able to exchange mine for the Werner platforms, which are IMO much more robust. Lowes had the Werners last year. Just a tip....

I was on mine and reached out and fell down, (my fault), and landed on the platform and it bent the top pretty good. And, I am only 5'9", 155 lbs. So, just know that they are light duty. I still think that they are very good for the $17 price.

I have the Werner version from Lowes a few BFs back. It is super nice and strong and stiff. Don't know how bad the HD one really is in comparison but it does look less stiff, if that matters. - Paul
