After spending a lot of time on this site i'm sure everyone notices a lot of posts/pics of specific tools reoccurring in many toolboxes. In some cases I feel like I must be the only person on GJ that doesn't have a certain tool. I thought it could be fun to see if other people have some tools that stand out to them.

In my case I feel like I must be the only person in the U.S. that doesn't own a Craftsman raised panel ratchet of any size. I have SO, Armstrong, Matco, Gearwrench, SK, HF, etc, but one of those RP's has never made it's way into my collection.

Garage. I live in an apartment. Gravel driveway.

We're looking at a place with a garage and double-wide paved driveway now. Having my own work area will be heavenly.

Standard slip joint pliers

I doubt I own a set, and if I do have any in the back of a drawer somewhere I can guarantee they have never been used.

Stubby wrenches. Closest I have to 'em is some ignition wrenches, which, IIRC, I've never used for ignition, but have used on some other lit'l things.

...an air compressor.

I also don't really have a garage. We're planning on moving next year and I'll be making sure we at least have a proper garage.

I don't have a chain saw. Everyone needs at least one.

BTW, I don't have a RP ratchet either. Didn't know what they were until I joined up here. By then I had enough Heinz 57 tools that I didn't need to go **** and start matching and trick organizing.

On the crowsfoot wrenches thing, you could go years w/o needing any but when you do, there is no substitute.

Flare wrenches, although have seen enough Plomb/Proto pebbled on here to make me think if I were to "need" them, that's what I'd slowly acquire.

Angle wrenches.
Every time I am in a bind and wrestling with fittings in tight spaces, I swear I'll buy a set of angle wrenches next.
Then I manage to finish the job anyway, and wonder why I need yet another specialized set of wrenches.

1" drive ratchet! I have at least half a dozen sockets but always just used an adapter and used my 3/4" ratchet.

I"m down to 4 RP ratchets, one In each drive size 1/4" to 3/4" finally sold my spares on eBay this past year. Almost never use the ones I still have though.

Not a single Snap On, SK, Matco, etc tool truck tool. No 3/4" or 1" drive sockets, no lathe, no mill, nor flare nut wrenches, and still....I get it all fixed when I need to.

I don't have any tools from Harbor Freight. It's not that I wouldn't buy or own them, there is just no Harbor Freight within an hour's drive of me. I would actually not mind having their impact sockets and one of the larger rolling tool boxes.

It's OK OP, I don't have a Craftsman ratchet of any kind either, and I'm a professional diesel mechanic.

My father owns plenty though and swears by them. Growing up using those godawful Craftsman ratchets made me swear to find something better when I started buying tools.

Flare wrenches
The only reason I don't have any is they are fairly useless in my field.

A Snap-on ratchet. Multiples of Gearwrench, Matco, SK, JH Williams, Kobalt, Napa, and the ubiquitous Craftsman, but no SO (yet).
