Eh, I figured I needed a name, so that's it, lol. Mainly do to the fact I'm restoring a 71 JD110. It still needs to be cleaned up, the ceiling finished, insulated and better organized. Heres it when I started:

After we had a 40' dumpster in, in looked a lot better. I also got a more compact cherry picker, and 3 big Husky tool boxes and moved the compressor into the attic.

I love those boxes, better than the ancient Craftsmans I inherited (although I will never get rid of them). I just need to work on organizing the boxes now.

I think you need to post a picture of the deere.

Pics to come, lol.

It needs a John Deere Sign or two as well ... :)

Those are in the house toll I finish cleaning and organizing.

Thanks. I got confused when I was on weekendfreedommachines, but I am on mytractorforum. I'll check out GTtalk here soon. I'm on the lookout for a cheap 4xx series so I can junk the L120. It's more of a money pit than my 110, lol.

Ok, a few questions. First two are similar. How should I run the cable and internet to the garage, and what should I use for the ceiling and in the attic as a floor?

the Cable you don't have alot of choice on, though if its a long run you might have some signal loss - its fixable but ...

Ethernet, well I'd suggest wireless..

OSB should work, just be sure to get it painted...will reflect a lot of light, and its cheap..

the cable is only about a 50-60' lead from the dish. and for the wireless, know of any good signal boosters? we already have wifi, its just weak out there. and how thick of osb should i get?

No Clue on the signal booster. check with some place like newegg.com or a local computer store - they can probably help you on the latest and greatest. I have a friend that deals with networking and such, I'll give him a shout and see what he suggests (or point him to this thread)

For the OSB.. are you going to be walking on it? if so, the thicker the better, if its just for the ceiling, 1/2 should do -

Hey Good start on the garage.

Got the message on you having issues with the signal in the garage. One thing you can so is try to move the unit closer to the garage. another thing you can do is just run a cable to the garage, but then you would be tethered to a cable then. What I would do is pull a new cable to the garage and install a second Wireless unit. Then you can set it up out there and have coverage in the garage. You can configure the 2 wireless units to be on different channels and get coverage thru the whole house. I am going to pick up a second wireless unit for my house as I have this same issue. my antenna is in the front of my house, and I have **** coverage in the garage which is at the back of the house but I can get great coverage on the porch and out on the street where I park.

If you have a really long run for you TV go with larger gauge cable so you will have good signal. I would also go with a quad sheild cable so you don't have as much line loss. I run RG-11 quad sheild from my dish to the dist. board, then RG-6 Quad shield to the Receivers. Use a good connector on each end and you should be fine.

Hope that helps. if you have any other questions, let me know I will do what I can.

thanks for all the advice. the computer is going to be a standard desktop, the main reason i want wifi is for my ipod touch or my phone, plus it may be easier than running cable, so ill look into signal boosters first. and the dtv cable, ill get the best i can afford, it would be nice to have tv out there again, but even if i cant do that, i can always use the computer once it is set up. and on the osb, it will just be used for the ceiling, and possibly the walls once i get more storage. i will have plywood floors in the attic to set stuff on. i really need to add outlets by the workbench. right now that is just an extension cord... :/ also, ignore the poor grammar, im sending this from my phone, lol.

im glad someone understands. id love to replace it with a 4xx, preferably a diesel. that way the 110 can get a break.

I just need to know of a good one.

It's not bad, most of it is just parts that need to be installed now, like the hood, carb and axle.

Just by doing a quick search on Newegg.com
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833281003

Going off Customer Feedback - should more than do the job for you, just be sure to keep it as high as possible, and of course, keep up on your network Security. Don't want people using your connection that shouldn't be.
My buddy in Cincinnati has had this issue more than once. The latest was a guy up the street from him a house or two was using my buddies connection to D/L illegal things ...

On your Direct TV you wont need a signal booster I have just under 300ft of cable from my dish to my shop receiver and only lost 1% of signal as compared to the receiver's in the house. Don't know if Dish Network would be the same they told me I needed a separate dish and subscription for the shop so I dropped them.
