Here's one for you. I'm 50 and this digging bar is older than me. I remember using this all my life as it was my father's.
I've bent modern digging bars before prying with them and never even had this one deflect on me.
Hated using this as a kid as it was heavy and you were busting asx when this came out. Got up close and personal with it this week and curios who made it. Says Klein Logan Bell System. I suspect this may be a different company or maybe division of Klein.

Bell would contract for the tools they needed, and sometimes switch suppliers.

So basically the company made tools for railroad and mining use, in a state heavily involved in the steel and coal industries.

How long is that, around 8'? They made a telegraph digging bar, which would make sense for a company like Bell System. Longer than a slate bar and the chisel end was straight like yours instead of bent. You can get some decent prices on Modbox stuff at Lowe's. Every Modbox item I bought has been on sale and about 40% off of what they are charging currently. The base pricing has jumped up over the past year.The 50% off at Lowes got me on the Modbox bandwagon

Used it once this morning to clean out one of the wife’s vacuums. It’s good. Like all Klein divers, it’s got a heavier feel to it. If you notice, the metal shank extends the entire way though the driver, so it’s solid. The stub works well, albeit a little shallow with the bits circling around it. The quality is high and there isn’t a lot of flex in the two part handle.
So far, I’d give a 4/5.

The telephone service kit that I acquired earlier in the week included quite a bit of Klein product: mostly screwdrivers, a set of nut-drivers, and the pliers shown above.

There are two on either side of my area about 20 miles from my house. Never heard of them and never been in one. Did they buy some other company out?

^^^ It is a very cheaply made knife, no-name steel, a ton of play in the blade, handle feel is sub-par compared to other Klein knives, made in Vietnam. IMHO of course... I'm a big fan of the regular Klein flick-blade, but this one is not one I would recommend.
Yeah, I just looked it up and for the price of it, it would be hard to make a quality knife.

I've had a Kershaw Select Fire for years and still prefer the design of it over any of these newfangled versions.
The bit driver won't handle a lot of torque but for light to medium tasks it works well.

The smaller one is fantastic for a roll-your-own mini tool kit.
Saw this today and these canvas pouches are 25% off compared to normal. If your like me I have a bunch of these some dating back 30 years in raw canvas. They are the catch all for specialty tool groups. I probably have a total of close to 20 of them at this point.

The rest of my misc modbox order made it in. A couple conduit bender holders and more importantly a replacement light for one I gave away recently
But I have I a question for you guys. Sometime around Christmas I bought the dual beam one.
I thought it was great all the way up until I bought the smaller one. What I found was the baby one seemed to provide far better task lighting and the battery lasted a lot longer. I’m just wondering if anyone else here has found this out as well?

How do you feel about the new latches? I had considered trying one out but read a review critiquing the need to use both hands to open it. That instantly killed it for me.Modbox Version 2.0 on sale $10 off.
This is the bins of 1.0 versus 2.0. 2.0 has more compartments and is an improvement in my mind. Bought this 1/2 size for hardware versus the full size 1/2 depth one I currently have.

It’s a double edged sword. Harder opening but easier closing.
I keep my hardware in a full size half depth modbox and I have had the latches come open from sliding the box around as the latches on it are slightly different than a regular full depth modbox. The modbox 2.0 I don’t see that happening.
I like the bin divider layout better on the 2.0.
I was on Klein Tradesman Club Friday as they sent me a survey and the final step to collect the points takes you there. I was clicking on the new products links to get more points and all the modbox wall stuff is out now and available to purchase. Modbox is now 80% as big as Packout and gaining ground rapidly

My buddy has a bunch of modbox stuff and really likes it. He’s talked about getting rid of all his packouts, we shall see!
