Is it me? Or does Klein just seem to be throwing every possible new idea against the wall to see what sticks? I mean I love new tool innovation, but fewer, better thought out tools would be my preference.

Isn’t that what every manufacturer is doing? Over specialization is rampant. Dewalt probably even makes a battery powered nose picker.

Consider Eklund, as discussed in another thread. You can’t just make the same old Allen wrench. People have already bought all of those that they need. If you want to increase sales you need new bells and new whistles.

Never underestimate the “sales force“, maybe better “sales driver”, all these little sub 30,- bucks gadgets are … And how YT/TikTok/IG amplify the interest/sales immensely.

Saw the 70550HD is selling at Lowe’s for 24.89 … You might have foldable hex keys, impact hex bits … But many people will still pick it up just because …

For me the new utility knife/ electrician’s knife (44056D) shown earlier would be such an item. I have more (utility) knives I will ever need, but if that was available off the shelf here (and at US pricing at that, 26.99 at HausOfTools as far as I could see) you bet that landed in my shopping cart the next time I’m at a big box store. Just because. Even if I otherwise just wanted to pick up a mouse trap for a buck. …

(I have an earlier Klein Tools hybrid-pliers multitool & camo pocket knife that are, in my opinion, very good considering price & for what they are, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up another if they were more mainstream over here.)

Kind regards,
Olli

My shop has a parts dept that sells some tools. It just so happens they are blowing out a bunch of Klein stuff that doesn't sell as I walked through it today. They had a set of those I can get at 50% of cost.

Being an American industrial/commercial HVAC company I'm guessing no one is looking for metric nut drivers.

They were also blowing out individual nut drivers, some small Klein wrench sets and a few pairs of linesman's.

Trust me I just went out to the garage to see if I needed anything to fill out a set of nut drivers but that's a no at this time.

These seem pretty nice!
I saw those there today. Stopped in to buy another 6' ladder on my ride home. Like you I swung but the tools to see what they had.

Seems though you may be on a quest to get all the colors.

I did see this new item.

Seems as mentioned, Klein is just throwing confetti in the air on tool creation at this point. I guess this takes care of the fact the sockets are exclusively SAE. In reality Kleins core market still is 95% SAE at this point.

I'm glad our pro supply house still carries the real Klein stuff instead of that gimmicky big box content creator ****.
My main supply house is starting to carry as much Milwaukee as Klein.

Milwaukee linesman's are blasphemy to most electricians but the younger guys don't seem to care.

They have Packout but no Modbox.

Our two major suppliers have been Milwaukee distributors for decades. They still carry the power tools and accessories but Klein has top spot on hand tools.
