My little collection. The most recent purchase was the little tester kit with the DMM, non contact voltage detector and outlet tester that I got for knock- around and household stuff. e7015c8fbcc6299ad7b21e8343c54886.jpg

The Klein Tool addiction thread! 😊

Hi everyone.. \

Ton ton, I learned about them when I was searching for old fashioned hardware stores around me and in Central Indiana. This one came up and I frequent them now. I Hit another today on the mid central north side in Indy, Hedlunds.. searching for hand sanitizer..

I found this gem at an estate sale this morning... Oldie but a goodie...

one of the sales guys at my local electrical supply house will call me from time to time when he gets Klein giveaway items - today was one of those days! A socially distant pickup was arranged after work:

got 4 in total: 2 yellow, 1 black, 1 gray. Giving the black one to a buddy who is a bigger Klein fan than me, so much so that he has a pair of J2000-9NE tattooed on his arm!

Keep a close eye on that nut driver. 10mm tools tend to disappear [emoji848][emoji848]

Decided to make a small display with these commemorative pliers.
The hardhat was a Klein Crusaders giveaway.

...The Klein documents don't explain what system was used after 1972, although one example here suggests that a modified code was still in use. But it's good to know that there is a date code system covering much of the earlier production, and we'll need to go back and check the tools again for possible code markings.[/I]"

So your 2003 pliers, I have no idea what Klein uses to date them.

There are letters, dots and dashes they use on the modern ones, but I have yet to see a correlation.

The current code letters indicate the year of manufacture, starting with "K". The number, at least on the forgings, indicate the sequence that the die it was made from was machined. The dots, or dashes indicate the impression on the die that it came from.
