There are many types of it but I was on the matco truck and my co-worker came in and bought this http://www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/A101A/DUAL-FOOT-INFLATOR-GAUGE/ When the dealer told him the price he was kind of hesitant but he got it anyway.

When we got back to shop I asked what he was thinking when he paid that. I tried to explain that you could a MUCH better milton for $50 or less. He told me that its just easier to pay $25 a week and not worry about the cost of the tool.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amflo-101-H...030?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab98dc986 He also tried to explain how his isnt the same because it had matco stamped on the trigger.

Its the Same, I suspect made by Amflo.. Its pays to shop around, Its No secret that Retailers in General Rebrand items.. Depending on the Item, Sometimes the Warranty is better when buying on the Tool truck. I guess it boils down to Personal Preference..

It happens even to the best of us, several years ago long before the GJ I bought a Mac set of thread chasers come to find out they were rebadged by Mac. years later I thought I was smart in buying a used set of mac pliers only to find out (A) the seller got them new in a fantastic deal which I never heard of and (2) the set came from china but only had the Mac name, wish I knew that because I could have bought that same set from china and saved a ton of money!

I have a good understanding who makes what. I don't make impluse buys anymore other then the use box. If there is something I want, I get a general idea what a non tool truck cost. I then will inquire with my dealer and if he can meet it or at least come close I will buy from him just because of the ease. If he his insane on something then I will go eleswhere. Also my SO dealer sells stuff out of other tool warehouse catalogs so he in genral is pretty competitive.

The way it was....
Mechanics, techs, professionals, work 9-5. In that time the trucks stop at their shop and they might wander on and pick up a tool or 2. At 5 pm they go home wash up, eat supper then go watch their kids baseball game, go home watch the evening news and go to bed. That's been the pattern for DECADES. Once they do their 8 hours thats it, no more work related thoughts or activities. In the old days there was just the corner hardware store to poke around in but today there's Lowes, HF, Canadian Tire AND the internet. Most of us spend much more time than just the 9-5 work day chasing tools, Black Friday, clearance bins, garage sales, flea markets, cl, following ebay ads only to be out bid at the last moment BUT WAIT, there's another one ending in 3 days!!! Better watch that one! If we counted all the time out of our lives we spend chasing tools we may be able to understand the logic behind the subject of the op because he's getting paid for his time.

I bought a TG900 Mac inflator about 4 years ago for $50 or so and just had it replaced under warranty last week. Didn't have to mail it in, go to the store or call corporate. Sometimes paying a bit more for a warranty pays off in the long run.
