This is a reverse engineered version of the Brinly Gard 'N Cart, a super rare Cub Cadet accessory. I've never actually seen one in person. Anyhow, I made one to go on my newly finished Cub Cadet restomod. I used what I could find on the interwebs, plus some CAD (Cardboard Assisted Design) to come up with it. One fun part was machining two matching plates that are five sided and irregular. I saw cut them as close as I could, then clamped them together and put them on my rotary table. Two sides are parallel, and one is 90 degrees to them, so I could cut three sides before I had to turn the rotary table to do the last two. Saw cut probably would have been close enough, but I'm an old tool maker.
The accessory bolts onto the frame. In the 'up' position, it functions as a bumper and grille guard. Lowered down, you can haul stuff around. Originally rated at 300 lbs., and I have no doubt it could handle that much, but it would be very rough on the front end. I might use it to haul bags of mulch around, but mostly it was just another fun project. Now to clean it up for paint!
