It's only a single car rent house garage in the Oklahoma City suburbs but after not having a garage for 2 years I'm glad to have it. This will serve as a great place for me to work on mine and my wife's vintage Suzuki's and do body work on the motorcycle restorations I do one the side, as well as a good place for my 10 year old to learn how to turn a wrench. I'm looking forward to having some cook outs and wrench turning get togethers for my local vintage motorcycle group.

The garage has a good amount of room for a 1 car as well as a ton of shelving. We just moved in New Years Day so it's still kind of a mess while we unpack but here's a few pictures to give you an Idea of the space. If any of you fellow 1 car guys ands gals have any suggestions as to things I should to maximize room please toss them out. I'll update this as I get it in order.

Looks like a clean slate!

I'd say start by getting as much stuff on the walls and off the floor as you can!

I think that when it comes to single-car garages, Dubber took the cake for efficiency of space utilization. If you haven't seen it already, here's the link to his thread .

Congrats on the new house! I can't wait to see what you do with the garage!

A touch cold to work in tonight but I'm sure those of you further north have me beat

My wife got a lot of boxes unpacked today so it allowed me to get tools put in my main tool box and somewhat organized. I'll be organizing sockets till July at this rate.
I also go a few things hung on the walls. Still a long way to go

Ok things are starting to be put away in the house so I'm getting somewhere with the garage. By this weekend I should be up and and back to working on motorcycles. I do motorcycle cycle paint and body work mostly restorations on the side. All body work will be done here and paint application is done a body shop paint both I have access to. It still kind of a mess but we are getting there. If the weather stays nice this weekend I should have the house settled the kids outside toys put together and I'll be working away in here.

Tool box put in to place out of the way of my work area

The work bench that came with the house.

I missed this thread first time around...I have a 1979 GS1000S myself, along with a 1982 Katana and a handful of other old Suzukis.

After a long, cold winter that was bad enough even some friends of mine from Michigan complained I have been able to get some work done in and to the garage. here is a long over due update. feel free to comment with any suggestions you might have to help me make my space better. I wish I could get kids toys out but hey its a positive trade off in life. No room in the shed after I put my yard tools.

My 82 GS 450 is gone I traded my 98 Chevy C-1500 for a 01 Suzuki intruder that only needed a spark plug wire. Sold the GS 450 and bought a 65 Chevy C-10. I have wanted one since i was 14 and just happened to be trolling CL at the right time.

Here is some updated pictures I have somethings how I want them but its still a far cry from some of the other garages on here. I am still happy to have what I have.

south wall
The washer and dryer take up 1/2 the wall then we have some great shelving which holds stuff for a future garage sale and home school curriculum. I put old shower curtains then covered them with flags to hide and protect the boxes

East wall

everything on the shelf came out of my dads garage when i helped hin clean it out after his health started going down hill. The first aid kit was also his

Power tools, body work supplies, clean up stuff and other misc. are housed in the cabinet

More wire shelving

west wall

Folding table holds motorcycle parts I'm not currently working with on the work bench at the moment
not the greatest work bench in the world but it has served me well I have enjoyed having it.

I need to find some fabric to hide what is on the shelves of the workbench

Motorcycle & home state license plates

Oklahoma, motorcycle and my 1965 license plates

I haven't done much in the garage the work that I have been doing is outside in the driveway on the C-10. I have been going out of state a couple of times a month to help my parents downsize so that cuts in to garage time but that's ok.

I have also been doing quite a bit of riding. I'm already rode about 2,500 more miles this year than I did in all of 2013. If I can get my blood pressure down to where I feel like riding to work again everyday and more one the weekends. I'll get a few more miles logged

Updates have been few and far between. Many of you know of my father's and my son's health issues I have also been battling kidney stones since about late September been a lot of fun. I took my garage air compressor to work for a few days so employees could demo and train on products. We got broken in to and my compressor was taken. Waiting on word to see if the company insurance is going to cover the loss but it's looking like they are not. really ***** for many reasons one of which about the whole situation is that compressor was the last thing my late grandmother ever bought me for Christmas back in '07.

I added a couple of more things to the tribute wall to my dad. These 2 1919 Allen Motor Company ad's are the real deal out of The Saturday Evening Post from that year. Allen is my last name and these hung in my dad's office for about 15 years

I have finally started getting somewhere with the GS1000 paint job thankfully the guy doing the restoration has been patient with me and my situations and headaches with the work i'm doing on it

My son has been using my work space to build this triple axle trailer model he found in my parents garage. I bought it in 1996 in Daytona, Florida and never did anything with it. He took on the project full speed he used real PPG Deltron 2000 basecoat clear coat to paint it.

Of course lots of riding and some wrenching on the C-10
