The Matco site seems to sell it for $262.45 so this doesn't actually seem so bad...

The SO stuff will often sell ABOVE what their site charges!

Is it possible your average joe, doesn't know that these Matco sockets are not made in the USA?
I haven't been on a Matco truck in years but I would always assume Matco stuff is USA made; sounds like times have changed!

My Matco dealer went out of buisness about a year ago but it seems like he told me there silver eagle impact sockets are made by Sunex! Silver Eagle is the lower price line for Matco like Blue Point is to Snap On!

That may be a fake link. In other words phishing, a scam to obtain credit card numbers or other personal information.

LOL, it's actually an attempt at mind control to get you to pay big bucks for little chunks of metal.

I think you've been reading too many scary newspaper stories.

That seems totally possible to me. All of those sets sure look similar.

That price seems kind of steep for a small set of impact sockets; and if they're made in Taiwan, that would be ludicrous.

Don't get me wrong; the price is ridiculous. I only meant it wasn't as ridiculous as SO auction prices...

Really? Not SATA or Lea Way?

I'm just speculating, but I don't know why since they have the capacity/ability in-house!

They could be sunex but since matco sells alot of Grey Pneumatic impact sockets now, I think they're rebadged Grey Pneumatic sets. However, that's still a steep price for what you get despite what the Matco truck may try to sell it for. A person could do alot better elsewhere.
