We’ve signed our lives away and emptied our saving account, but we got the keys this weekend.

Started cleaning and some miscellaneous painting.

Ranger is getting used to his new shop, and we’re all enjoying the view.

Shop is 960 Sq. Ft.

It’s kinda ugly now, but that’s an easy fix.

I wish it had a taller ceiling, but that would be a more complicated task.

Thank you, and glad to have you following along.

Here’s a few daytime views off the deck.

Its been a while since my last visit, so I had to catch up a bit! I love this picture and I was hoping that someday I will have a anvil in my garage to have a place to sit my bourbon

The wood grain on this table is amazing!

I would love to have a couple of these for my next project, very cool piece! I did not know what it was until you mentioned the guy saying it was a insulator bracket, can't wait to see what you make out of it?

Congratulations on the new house! I feel more relaxed just looking at this picture of your deck, I could really enjoy myself at the end of a long day relaxing to this view

Bears,

We are still trying to figure out how we pulled this off.
I have to say, my wife did most of the searching and the coordination with the realtor, bank, and escrow.

It is a bit daunting when I think about all there is to do with moving, then getting the shop set up.

Thank you so much.
Having just gone through a further move than we’re looking at, I’m sure you know how I’m feeling this morning.

I just want it all done!

Riv, congrats on the new place, the view is great. I like the size of your new shop. It is bigger than your previous shop right? I look forward to seeing some of your great projects coming out of this space. Merry Christmas and a great 2020 to you!

Jay,
Thanks.
The new garage is definitely bigger, and there is room to grow!

In case anybody is wondering, Hans Gruber has fallen off the Nakatomi Plaza Tower.

Haven’t moved in yet.
Haven’t set up the shop yet.
Haven’t even finished cleaning up the previous owners **** out yet.

But I did pick up an appropriate 1st project for the new shop.

1961 12’ Glass Slipper, with an interesting trailer.

She’s gonna be a perfect channel cruiser!

When do you officially move in? Not the house, but the shop, who cares about the house. ;)

Working on assessing the new shop.
Contemplating tearing out all the drywall/insulation/wiring and starting over.

It just seems like so much work!

But, better to do it now than after it’s full of stuff.

I have the time now, but short on cash flow.

When I get funds from selling the old house, I’ll have cash but be short on time. :dunno:

Circuit panel full of water, great...

Is the weatherhead messed up on an overhead service?

I would agree with your tack to start over seeing all of the crossed up neutral & grounds.....

Location looks quite beautiful! :)

Addition of a new deck, with some faulty flashing is funneling water in just above the panel. Should be an easy fix. Still *****.

RIV: I can't recall which part of the state you moved to whether it was near Sequim or up by Anacortes or Skagit, but OMG that looks like a cool place to hang your hat.

when I first saw the picture it looked like you bought a houseboat so I think we need more pictures of your cool spot as you have some time.

how's the commute to work or did you change your job to work closer to your new home?

best of luck filling up that cool space and hope you found some good neighbors too.

here's to a great 2020!!

Drives,

Happy new year to you too!

New house is up in skagit, just north of LaConner.

If I avoid peak traffic, it’s 1hour from my old house.

Sometime in the future I’ll explore jobs up there, but for now I’m working in Seattle.

Best

Riv: sounds nice and if you get a chance the Marguerite pizza at La Conner brewery is one of my favorites cause they throw on whole garlic cloves that bake with the pizza and if you are a meat lover you can add pepperoni. their homemade beer is pretty tasty too, but since I'm not in training any longer a couple beers and i'm handing my keys to my bride cause otherwise I might not get home.

my 45 year old step son works for a big construction company that is doing a big job for microsoft and he lives near smokey point and I think he drives to maybe Everett and takes a bus or transport back and forth to work which might be another option for you cause I think he was working on some huge project downtown Seattle the last couple years and he was taking the bus then too.

i'll let you sort that out, but if you need more information just ask and i'll send him a text to get you more details. AND maybe BELLINGHAM or Mt. VERNON might get some work for you since they seem to be moving out of the small town feel now.

Thanks drives,

Maybe I’ll join you for one of those pizza and beer outings.

Let me know when you’re in the area.

Jay,

In case anybody is wondering, Hans Gruber has fallen off the Nakatomi Plaza Tower.

Riv, I think that happens every Christmas...:wtf:.

Too bad about the water leak, at least you said it's an easy fix. The Essential Craftsman (youtube) would give you a definite  for using that Burke bar for your demo work. He loves them.
With all the work ahead just take it a day at a time and you'll get there.
Nice boat acquisition too...

Thanks Jay,

Burke bar is the go to tool for demo work!

We’re not in any hurry, but I still like to see progress.

Hopefully no more surprises.

Knockdown texture isn’t my favorite wall finish, but a couple coats of paint helps.

Especially when I got the paint for free, off my last project at work.

Low gloss, bright white.

I’ve got 15 gallons of free paint.

I’d like to think I’ve got enough to cover everything, but we’ll see
