Ok.... you are right. The building is finished. I still have a bunch of stuff to do on the inside... benches, hose reels, shelving and all that junk. This is what it looks like now. Still a work in progress.

The small bay is the work area. The larger one is for storage for the RV and other treasures.

Skylights in the large bay.

Furnace and air compressor.

Overhead door between the bays so I only need to heat the smaller bay when I am just working there.

BendPak 10k lift. Skylights in the work shop side.

Pallet racking in the end of the RV bay.

Polished concrete with white color hardener.

Hot and cold outside water bib.

And ...a security system to keep all of my treasures safe.....

Very nice. I am so jealous.

Where do you get those adjustable, orange stands that are in the picture next to your RV? I have been looking for some for a while.

That is really nice and I'm sure you are excited. There are many cool aspects, one that I find imaginative and a great idea is the hot and cold hose bibs outside great idea.

Hot and cold outside water bib.

Best idea ever! I've always wanted to put hot and cold water taps near the garage door. Tired of logging around the water hose from across the yard or hooking up the water hose to the hot water heater.

Your place looks great! I love the color combination. Where did you find a combo hot/cold water manifold to mount outside? Also, does your white trim work go ontop of the plywood siding or does it **** up against it?

So do you have some weird elevation going on in your property or did you build it into the ground to gain additional ceiling height. I know I was only allowed 15' height or as tall as the house which ever was lower.

If it was to get around the height restriction Im going to have to remember that for my next garage. And as long as the driveway is sloped properly and the roof line/gutters are done right water should never be a problem, which it appears as yours is. I might still put in a french drain around the building just for piece of mind.

great looking shop

The yard is sloped toward the rear. I split the difference to make the shop lower. I also used the longer trusses on the shorter bay and smaller trusses on the taller bay to make the roof line lower.

The building codes would have allowed it to be taller but I was concerned about the height because I didn't want it to tower over my single story house. It is low enough that you can't even see it from the front of the house.

My wife's two desires were that it didn't tower over the house and the architecture complimented our house so it didn't look out of place.....

It does have footing drains (perforated pipe in a gravel bed) around the entire foundation for drainage.

I found the hot/cold water manifold at a commercial plumbing supply house. It is frost free and was kind of spendy... around $100 if I remember right.

The trim is nailed to the outside of the plywood siding. They are 1 x 4's on the plywood.

The hardie shingles are nailed to osb. The boards that trim the shingles are nailed to the osb backing. They had to be 5/4 x 4 so that the shingles didn't stick out past the trim..... I originally put 1 x 4's there and ended pulling them off and putting on the 5/4 x 4's.

Could you share the dimensions? What are the height and width of your garage doors? Is the door between bays a roll up? What are the ceiling heights?

Tall bay .... 17' x 36' with a 14' ceiling. The door is 12' wide x 13' high.

Shorter bay ..... 30' x 20' with a 12' walls and a vaulted ceiling. The door is 10' wide x 11' tall.

The center door between the bays is 8 X 8. It is a sectional door with a high lift track that brings it up to the ceiling where it turns.

PM me with your email address and I will send you a copy of the plans.

Looks great. I really like a lot of your ideas. The hot/cold outside taps, the roll-up door between the bays, the skylights... all great stuff. Where did you get the outside light over the man door and the similar hanging light inside? I like those.

I bought the lights online and don't remember the places that I bought them. The style is called a "warehouse shade". If you do a search using that term you will find a bunch of them.

The one on the inside is a 15" pendant style and was fairly cheap and is a lower quality than the one outside. The outside one was fairly expensive ... over $250.00 if I remember correctly.... it a 16" goose-neck style and is a much better quality light than the one inside. BTW .... my wife does not need to know how much that cost ... so keep it to yourselves .... ok?

In this pic, that is your shop with the house wrap and the neighbors is the one with the paved driveway??

WTH kind of lot line do you have there? If I owned that house I would be pretty pissed about it as well!

There is pretty much NO way you can work on anything in your garage without them hearing it in their house.

Very nice job! Some questions? Hot and cold water bib fascinates me. What is the hot water going to be used for? Is the garage heated?
