I figured I would ask here if anyone has the 12v car adapter for the heated gear. I was wondering if it would work as an extension for the battery pack if you took the cigarette lighter piece off. My problem is problem is the battery is in a terrible spot for wearing an harness or tool belt.

They may very well be standardized for the application

Many outdoor enthusiasts use heated gear

You maybe could check locally with motorcycle or snowmobile shops or certain sporting good stores

Just as an example here is another shorter one for less money http://www.adventureoutfitter.com/gerbing-1-foot-extension-cord/

The M18 USB power source adapter thing has an output that can be used on the jackets/sweatshirts. 4Ah is the biggest I've tried but it will just barely fit into last years jacket. It sure seems warmer with the M18 batteries.. whether it actually is or not, I have no idea

Yes, the Milwaukee 12v car adapter is already a dual purpose item. The 12v adapter simply unplugs, and the remaining cord is an extension cord to be used with either the m12 or m18 power sources. Since both battery platforms offer extended runtime batteries, you can sit the bigger packs next to you, (say if you were operating a machine without heat) and plug your jacket into them. I did this with the m18 4.0 packs when I was doing snow removal. A lot of the machines this company has, do not have working heat - among all the other **** that didn't work in the front end loader I used - like headlights, wipers, window defroster, and brakes...

There are cheaper plugs you can buy off eBay and Amazon that will work, but they are not made as robust as the Milwaukee.

And since we are talking about power sources - there is a generic m18 model on Amazon for like $8.. it only has a USB port, but that's worth getting just as something to charge your cell phone...

USB Power Source Addon for Milwaukee 2645-22 Battery - Phone and USB Devices Charger Accessory for Milwaukee 18V Lithium-Ion Power Tool https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C3FRFO8/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Let me see if I still have the pics, (don't think I do) but I cut an old cell phone smart phone holster up for the belt clip, and plastic plate is was mounted to, attached HD Velcro to the inside o the holster, and to the bottom on 2 M18 batteries to be able to wear the packs remotely on a belt.. I tried it, didn't like it.. went back to the 12v batteries..
Yea I deleted them.. it all went together pretty well, just didn't like the weight on my belt.. tool belt might have been ok..

Here are cheap 12v adapter cords, and the Milwaukee.

Anyone feel like they're walking away from the M12 line somewhat? Outside the heated outdoor clothing there doesn't seem to be much happening vs the M18 line. I enjoy most of my Milwaukee items, but the M12 fuel tools are probably my most used.

Hoping someone on this thread might be able to help me out. I'm in the process of fabricating a custom powerbank box for my tool chest, however, I left all of my red tools locked up in my box over the break and forgot to measure how wide my tools were.

Hoping someone might be able to take a couple of quick width measurements on their V28 or V12 tools.

I need to know the width of the handle and the widest point of the motor body on a V28 drill (0726-20), V28 1/2" impact (0779-20), M12 borescope (2315-20) and M12 screwdriver (2406-20)

Any measurements you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

I wouldn't think they are "walking away" but there is probably is a limit to many of the types of tools that fit the M12 platform, though recent battery power increases may help with that. I have been after them for a long time for some type of M12 cutoff tool either 3" disc or maybe a 4" paddle switch grinder.

They really do have pistol style impacts, drills, and power screwdrivers pretty well covered :D and I was happy when they released a right angle impact driver last year and that does spec close to the original M18 version. Still it disappointed there was no sq. drive option. I also have the M12 grease gun over the M18 model But If I was going to buy a cordless band saw or a rotary hammer tool I go bigger. The Fuel circular is ok for what it is and 5 3/8 saws have their place with me but honestly I couldn't imagine them doing anything bigger on that though

Overall it still is a pretty wide line though some of it is pretty pricey like the visual inspection tools, heat gun, scanner etc.

Maybe we should make up a possible list of suggested "new" tools for the M12 platform.

Really has been a lot of focus on lighting, hand tools. and sound, along with the clothing lately though.

I wonder if an M12 headlamp is feasible? Like Coast could you put the battery in the rear? Or is that just stupid?? I'd LOVE a headlamp that doesn't require conventional batteries (yes I know Enerloops etc). And runtime on a 3.0 compact should be ridiculous

For BreeStephany:

V28 impact is 2 7/8" across the motor.
My V28 drill is a 0724-20 and is 3" at the back where the bit holder is located.

Both handles are 1 7/8" wide.
The battery shoe is 2 1/16" wide.

I had the cordless nailers on demo for a weekend, I was impressed with both the framer and the finisher but eventually decided not to buy either as my air nailers are quite new and I dont have any major construction coming up, but I was impressed.

I saw that as well. A framer would be nice, though it sounds like they're sorting quality issues with their smaller nailers.

I've always liked Milwaukee and I'm pretty impressed today. My multi tool that is 2.5 years old quit. I went to milwaukees website and found it had a 5 year warranty. I filled out my info and the serial number. It prompted my to print a shipping label, free. I did that and packed it up and dropped it off on the 7th. I just received an email on the 16th they were shipping it back. Repaired I assume. All at no cost to me. Wow!

I wonder if you get the same tool/serial number back or if they simply send out a refurbished unit to minimize turnaround time.

The big difference (if it matters to anyone) with the Milwaukee nailers vs almost every other models but the Senco - is every other manufacturer uses either a flywheel or air piston that requires ramp up time before it will shoot (out of bump fire mode). I believe The Milwaukee uses a nitrogen charged piston (like a hydraulic jackhammer) that will fire as soon as you pull the trigger.. it eliminates the possibility (small possibility) of your item moving while you wait for it to fire.

Think of the difference like an old camera that uses film vs many digital cameras today.. one is instant, the other needs a second.

I searched this thread for any opinions on the 0880-20 wet/dry vacuum but there does not seem to be any. Does anyone have one and what are your thoughts on it to be used in a RV ?

i have one and it works real good with 5 ah batteries, and really excellent power and run time with milwaukees 9.0 ah batteries. I use an extension on it i had from a older riccar n2000 vacuum i have so you can have a little more reach

Geeze must have missed it the first time.

I also have one I like it's powerful. Was a bit surprised how quick it ate thru a 4.0 battery though first time used it. But I have larger sizes now so all is good :D

My only peeve is that I wish it had some type of wheels to pull it along with me when I'm doing a job cleanup. I decided for those times I am going to use a HF mover dolly for a carriage and see how that works out! :p

I'll chime in as well. It's darn powerful for it's size. It's more powerful than the Dewalt I had but I don't like the hose and attachment storage as much, the hose kinda flops around and I get annoyed having to open the top compartment to get attachments or get to the battery. That said, if I lost it today I'd order another immediately.

It's been mentioned several times, and there seems to be nothing but positive reviews. It's great if you're just drilling a couple of holes, cleanup is really fast. It won't replace a full size shop vac, and as others have noted it chews up batteries pretty quick.

Bottom line, like FigureItOut, if I lost it today I'd order another immediately.

Cheapest M18 power source, from an authorized Milwaukee retailer.. second cheapest listing on eBay buy a few cents I think.. I might buy another myself since I can't find mine

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=111550375658

$29 free ship

I have an adapter and everything already just was interested in the cord. My plan is to put a belt clip on the adapter and clip it on my harness in the bucket truck or on my overalls when doing other stuff. I really do appreciate your help I have to get one ordered now since the nearest Milwaukee dealer is about an hr away .

The vac works great. I used it to **** some water from a toilet and it didn't even blink under load. The runtime is limited, as anything with constant use will be.. with a 4.0 pack I think it'll run about 20 min or so (this is not exact) with constant use. It's great to bring out to car for cleaning, the tool storage under the lid is nice since the lid can be left open and that's not part of the vacuum chamber. you can use a brush attachment from a vac that uses the same hose size, I recommend getting one.. IMO it should have come with that, but they are cheap enough so it's not a big deal.. the "paper" filter is not exactly paper. You can run it under a hose and it will not deform, the element sort of repels water, so it's reuseable many times over. I'd have to compare it to one of those washable K&N filters for a car.

It's not a "clean my whole shop floor" type of vac - you're obviously not gonna be cleaning the gutters with it, but for small stuff it's great. I'd imagine you can easily connect it to miter saw for dust collection. Also, the blower port is inline with the suction, just on the opposite side. It makes it very easy to use that way. You can attach the crevice tool to the hose, and it will produce enough airflow to blow any dust off the hard to reach spot you can't reach with the suction hose. IMO it's worth the money for something so small and portable. An AC power option would have been nice, but I guesss you can't have it all.. it also doubles as a nice seat, or step stool if the need arises, depending on people's individual weights of course. I'm about 185 and I can stand on it if i need to..

just FYI, there is a new hand held m18 floor vac, similar in style to the dyson and shark. It's also about $100, but it's a dry vac only. This is it.
