The Milwaukee addiction thread!

It’s a $200 tool. If you drop it 10 times in 5 years and it breaks, buy another. I see the boot as being for pros who use their tools every day and for tool collectors who don’t really use their tools and want them to look new.

I use the boots on mine so I don’t scratch the paint on my vehicles not just to protect the tool.

2453 1/4" hex and every drive kit for it I'd find usefull (asst. drive bit w/ extensions, ti drill bits, 1/4" met and sae sockets)

I had a cover on my SO cordless impact for 7+ years and when it died I took it off and wiping the thing down it still looked brand new, the replacement one I got back is more scratched up.

ByWhere have you guys found the best prices for a mid torque boot and/or possible the 3/8" impact boot for the right price? I know for the ratchet boots only a few places even carry them.

I ended up getting a boot for my mid torque on Amazon. Probably over paid but I've done dumber things. It was $39

They are the older style but they are not compatible with the packout (that’s why they are cheaper)

I watched the Kaizen video. I feel bad for those guys, if 50% of people can follow those instructions I’d be amazed. Kudos to the ingenuity, they’ve got guts to bring that to market. But from recent CL listings and boards like this I have little faith in humanity’s ability to read or comprehend, much less follow directions.

Yup. All of the 18V stuff is now obsolete.

I just purchased the 10 inch miter and was using it on a project this weekend. The first few days it snapped to 0 and 45 degrees, now it seems to snap to a degree less.

Any ideas ?

As for tool boots never bought any yet. In retrospect after the scars you aww maybe I should have had one. What they ought to do is sell a matching spray paint for the nose cone so you can make it look all purty again. I don't how many times I have already touched up the white lettering on my tools with a paint pen. Those markings don't seem last at all with any use.

My excuse when its so beat up I cant stand it anymore I'll get a new one

Is the needle accurate or the stops on the scale? If it clicks in at what was the 0 degree position and still makes a square cut then the needle needs readjusted if it is off by a degree then readjust the scale.

My guess is the pointer is off just a bit. Loosen the screw and adjust. But first, make sure the saw is adjusted right and cutting true 90 and 45 angles. Then adjust pointer to match.

I fawking wish. Milwaukee has a built-in FlexVolt fighter or way to compete in the higher voltage markets like 40, 58 etc but they refuse to capitalize on it. Instead they’ve dug in their heels at 18 and are determined to just keep increasing capacity.

Granted, it’s mostly working but at some point more voltage could really be beneficial, esp as we keep trying to push into areas like table saws, compressors etc. Stationary stuff like this weight doesn’t matter much so 28V x 2 could kick ***, esp w the foreign market M28 5.0’s

V28/M28’s been around since ‘03 or ‘04

I'd bet you knocked the pointer too. But maybe there's 1° of sawdust in the detent.

Maybe it's a thermal plastic or something, but even the trigger and trigger lock feel like a cheap Chinese toy..

This was nice to see though..

I got mine at Home Depot two weeks ago and I have no complaints about how it feels it all. I do wish you could lock the trigger on though.

I have the heat gun and have used it several times - it's great. Feels light because it is... probably just a trigger and a heating element, not much to it.

I thought the M12 soldering iron was supposed to be released same time as the heat gun. Unfortunately now it looks like late December or early January. Ship date of Dec 27 on AcmeTools. Bummer.

Ten day turnaround for me when sent to Milwaukee for repair.

I have a M18 Propex tool I bought and did a ton of 1/2 and 3/4 connections. It slips on 1" and above and won't rotate. It's not under warranty. Is that something to send back to Milwaukee or just source a local repair shop?

Real world use, that's a pretty significant difference. In the m18 fuel drill, its 3x more powerful than the m12 fuel..
