was just at the local home depot. the blower and string trimmer are back in stock, sadly at their regular prices. i would have gladly bought another blower for 35$ like i did in the fall.

So M12 Inflator, M12 Rivet Gun, M18 Orbital Sander... Perhaps not done with new secret tools coming out pre NPS18 that they did not tell us at NPS17?

You know, I feel like Milwaukee would hit several home runs if they were subscribed to this thread...

...I just really REALLY hope all these tools that we've been wanting don't ****. Milwaukee...if you're listening...please don't drop the ball!!

Just gonna leave this here...

I'm saying it, I don't care: DeWalt is on a roll. Milwaukee needs to dominate more things than just impacts and lights. Yeah yeah, core users/trades. I don't care. They make tools. They need to start making more tools that their actual users want.

Dewalt does have some innovative stuff. I'm not sold on cordless lawnmowers. String trimmers and hedge trimmer, yes. They claim the mower is only good for 1/4 acre, so you'd either have an itty bitty lawn or stock up on batteries. Good if you only have a little spot to mow and don't want to mess with gas.

I find the Ryobi cordless riding mower to be very interesting, good for up to 2 hours or 2 acres. But the tires are too narrow to useful on anything but a bone dry lawn. But it's an interesting concept.

I hear you, but I think it's just the beginning. I'm picturing a 4 battery Milwaukee mower...totally doable, and it'd probably be able to cover my lawn no problem...

...in my dreams of course haha. That'll likely happen AFTER the release of the Fuel jigsaw, so Q4 of 2039.

There might be a new 3/8 coming at NPS, gotten cheaper from my sources, sold my last one for $120.

Nick's got the bare tool 2754 3/8 wrench for $145 on a clearance right now with free ship

So I learned something today.. for the hell of it, I ordered one of the Milwaukee 6", 1/4" hex locking extensions.. basically a 6" extension with a hex chuck.. BUT - figured out that not only do the 1/4" standard driver bits fit and lock in, but so do the Milwaukee stubby - non power strip - 1/4" drive bits. (The ones sold in the hard cases to be used on the magnetic 1/4" hex extensions) And not only to they lock in - but the lock in TOTALLY SOLID.. there is absolutely NO play.

So this locking extension -

Will lock THESE style bits in with no play what so ever, and they will NOT come out until they are released.

Lowes also has these in different sizes - up to 1/2" drive
30TJ28_AS02

Thats the Irwun one isn't it?

Good to know about the Milwaukee locking adapter I need another. I do have the longer magnetic bit holder as the well as the standard sized one plus those same nut setters.

I bough a 3 piece set of 1/4 shank 12" socket extensions off Amazon. I got the ARES brand though Titan has them too for bit more money

So theres 3 listings for the M12 inflator, 2475-20 bare tool $69, 2475-20P bare + 2.0 bsttery $79, and 2475-21XC kit with 4.0 $159. While that 20P may seem tempting, it should be priced at $69 like the bare tool, pretty sure it will be when it starts to ship, places have done this before to trick you into over paying on a pre order special.

I hate this cookie tracking sh*t. I just opened my email and there was an Amazon ad for 1/4 hex shank socket adapters. :D

Oh look new ones for dummies...color coded so you can tell them apart! :lol_hitti

I pay the extra $10 for a 2.0 compact battery :D

But ya no need to pre order.

I did also the same thing before and seen price drop not soon after

Good to know about the solid bit retention on the 1/4 extension. In the olden days the hex adapters that had the spring clip inside that locked into the the indents you see on these nutdrivers were better than the magnets, but I hated any kind of bit driver. Now with the power strips on bits and hex chucks on power tools, they ain't so bad.

Got some new Milwaukee tools this past week.
M12 fuel 1/2 & 3/8 ratchet, converted my old 3/8 to 1/4....

Tell me more about converting the old 3/8" ratchet to 1/4". Is it as simple as popping out the snap ring and dropping a 1/4" drive part in? I got the new 1/4" Fuel, but it is more powerful than my old 3/8". If I convert the old 3/8" to 1/4", I could justify selling the 1/4" Fuel and picking up a 3/8" Fuel and 1/2" Fuel instead.

Do we have a NASA engineer in this thread?

High school chemistry. Ideal Gas Law. Pressure time volume is a constant for for the same "gas" (air) at the same temperature. Stated a different way P1V1 = P2V2

Hand waving follows :

  • Air is far from an "Ideal Gas"
  • The air will be heated by the compressor as it enters the tire

One of the best electric chainsaws ever made was the Milwaukee 6215. Corded and out of production for sometime now.

I sure hope that Milwaukee is working on a Fuel version ! To get enough power they may have to go to 2 batteries (I think M28 is dying). Maybe 2 of the M12 3.0Ah ? Balance with batteries will be an issue.

Any indication we’ll get a new M12 Fuel 3/8 Impact this year to match the new M12 fuel impact driver?

I have a 6215 that I picked up for roughing out really big stuff in the shop when outdoors with a gas saw would be too noisy or cold. It really is a very nice saw it was made in Japan though, better than China no doubt (at that time) but Brookfield, WI would have been better.

If they ever make a Fuel chainsaw, I would hope and suspect it would be M18 to go along with their string trimmer, blower, and hedge trimmer. One 5.0 or 9.0 M18 battery should be plenty of power and run time.

actually, creating something that has the top form factor of an M12, with step down voltage tech, and and M18 receiver bottom, should be trivial.

the other direction should be possible also, but it would be a lot less elegant.

I'm predicting m18 will become m18/m36 dual voltage - with doing nothing but buying a new battery.. lol

Milwaukee just posted this, thought it was funny after you guys mentioned testing it out on truck tires. In the photo it's set to 80psi. I'm curious how long it'll take to get there.

I am sure that is useful in some applications, but in general, I am not a fan of 1/4" hex to square because the absorb torque, especially impact torque. An extension just makes it worse.

Yea - but for a guy without an impact wrench - it's that or nothing.. will still remove a lot of stuff for certain jobs.

Absolutely agree KC when someone is more often than not using these long extensions its mainly for reach and generally not maximum breakaway power. I used mine to reach a pulley nut on my lawn tractor without having to reach down inside or fight with a ratchet motion in a confined space. Plus the fast impact action removed a nut that otherwise needed a wrench to hold the opposite side. The positive retention of the adapter locked in the collet is a benefit as is the spring ball especially using impact sockets with the hole, vs some sq, drive extensions bars that fall off like HF ones do.

IMO most 18v 1/4 drive impacts have enough power to remove anything under 1/2" thread size tightened below 100 ft ibs

Is it always the best choice of application to try to remove lug nuts with 1/4 drive shank adapters not really.
