Oh come on if you can't remember which slot out of 3 they are now how you going to remember which color tape is each one

That kind of reminds me of a story at work the JD loader had colored coded caps for the hose ends and couplers some how someone moved the caps around took a while to figure out which two ends belonged together I idiot proofed it by putting colored tape on the hoses and along the steel hydraulics lines!

I like the old farmer way suggested write on the board above each one in marker pen :D

Oh I know use different color marker pens...ya that's the ticket

Because half the time they arent in the holder, having something integral to the tool works far better than on the holder.

Ok M12 vs M18 oscillating saw which one is better? Seems like neither one is perfect but I like cordless and I own Milwaukee.

I have the M12 Oscillating Saw... it's very easy to handle ... not too heavy... works great. I don't have the M18.

But I do have the Gold Standard of oscillating tools... Fein Multimaster (corded)... it is a beast... If I am doing a lot of cutting... it's my choice.

If I have to do a single (less than 10 cuts)... I will grab the M12.

For sanding... I have not tried the M12 yet as I have dedicated sanding machines of various sizes and shapes.

Thanks yeah just sometimes it seems like a nice tool for a few cuts that’s why I was thinking M12 since it is smaller and fit in tight places better and if a new fuel comes out I won’t feel to bad upgrading.

Just added the m18 polisher to the Milwaukee collection.. had some Amazon gift cards, and that was actually the cheapest place I found the bare tool.. I have a Home Depot gift card too, so the m12 might follow.. I dunno..

I had all my smaller Milwaukee stuff fit into one of the HF US General side lockers.. this, and the inflator that's coming kinda ruins that.. guess some stuff in the other locker is getting an eviction notice.

Oh - and the new bolt cutters are available to order. They have 3 sets, 14", 14" with extending handles, and 24" with extending handles.

I had the 14" with extending handles in my cart yesterday for $49 but backed out of it.

Interesting FTC ruling on electronics etc, on warranty and self repair. They say that warnings if you tamper or open something that it voids the warranty, are illegal and not valid.

Picked up my first M12 tools today. I have a bunch of M18s and have been putting off getting into new battery platform. Picked up an inspection camera and a Fuel 5-3/8 circular saw. Milwaukee rep was at Home Depot and threw in an extra battery...

Well my Mid Torque arrived today (which surprised me as I didn't even get shipping confirmation from HD) but any how I am totally impressed. I had not seen one except for photos but the size and weight has me torn to one day say goodbye to my longtime friend the 1/2 compact Sad :(

Kind of like women ;)

But anyways Ya I tried it out right away on the rusted up lugs on my old truck the ones the compact wouldn't ever budge, I even had to clear the snow away to get to them as they were still buried. Went easy and much less weight than using the High Torque.

Like I said it was like a Goldilocks thing! :D

So maybe my future will be a compliment of the Gen 2 High Torque, Mid Torque and the 2754 in the M18 platform don't know:dunno:

I still can't say enough good things about my 2655B though. One day I hammered off almost 100 9/16" fine thread bolt and nut combo's covered in dirt and with no lube from a 3pt mount rototiller continuously grinding away until each came loose I think there was only two I had to break with bar leverage as they were too damaged to unthread. Though it sounds slightly different been used much now, different than that whiz new unused tools (maybe to be described as a bit rougher sounding :lol_hitti)

The tool still works great to this day. Hasn't let me down

Have to say the hog ring socket retention on new Mid Torque was a bit tighter too than what I been used to too.

Will see how long THAT last

If anyone has bought the sawzall or circular saw with 9.0 that was on clearance the price has dropped to $125.

Apparently the m12 polisher as a bare tool is on backorder at Home Depot and can't be ordered... and I was trying to get rid of a another gift card.. now what??
That's one of the few tools that the kit is actually a good deal vs bare tool

Maybe the m18 break through is new battery technology. New m18 batteries that are something better than the current lithium batteries. Possible at this time or is the technology not available yet?

When is the announcement coming?

Should be on clearance nationwide by now. The kits you see for $249 are a new HD sku. The ones on clearance end in 512 (circ saw) and 502 (sawzall)

What is the difference between the two SKUs?

The size comparison is a good visual!
Just curious, do you have a 1/4 impact driver too, would be nice to see the size difference between the four!

The Gen1 2653 1/4" impact I have is pretty much the same size as the 2655B wrench, just a tad shorter at the nose piece really the difference being about the length of the 1/2 anvil.

The 2754 or 2755's for that matter are slightly smaller in circumference in body area the surrounds the motor, (that goes for the current 2753 also) along with some other small changes like a small indentation in the nose cone and the end cap where it says Fuel is slightly smaller too.

IMO the differences are really nothing to write home about and if I had all 3 of them in a PVC pipe hanger and looking from behind I be hard pressed to tell them apart. :lol_hitti.

These are the older SKUs that were promos when the 9.0 first came out. If you look up the sawzall and circ. Saw online with 9.0 battery they have different skus. So as long as you find the 9.0 kits ending with the ones above they should on clearance

I just got the boot in for my 2553-20 impact. It seems to fit real nice!

So I've been scouring the interwebs and can't find anywhere selling this boot. Where did you get it from again?

Oh Mai. Look at that little bottie. I have to google check but for anyone in the know, do they make said botties for the surge or just M18 1/4 impacts

Direct from Milwaukee... it was answered for me a few posts back...1-800-sawdust IIRC. Its where I got mine after seeing that.

So kinda disappointed with my new M12 Fuel 5-3/8 circular saw. Had to cut out some 3/4 OSB subfloor in a bathroom today. Approx. 28 linear feet. Did the job, just barely and basically killed two brand new batteries in the process. The saw and batteries got very hot and was cutting intermittently. Only used it for about 5 minutes (and went through 2 batteries in that time.) Meanwhile I've been cutting sheathing, 2x6s and 23/32 CAT subfloor for the past several days with my M18 Fuel 7-1/4 circular saw on the same battery/charge without a hiccup.

Well that sounds a bit odd but what AH batteries where you using anyways.

Makes a big difference

Could be a myriad of factors involved like the blade sharpness or just being buried in the cut :dunno:

Using larger AH batts performance in this video looks pretty good

I'm not sure of AH but they were definitely smallish - didn't have that big square bottom on them. It's whatever came with the inspection camera and the Milwaukee rep gave me a spare. Believe it was same size. Blade was brand new and is sharp. Probably should get some larger batteries... Thanks.

Though the tool can run on a compact battery it really needs a minimum of a 4.0XC to perform well and a 6.0 is even better.

Any of the saws perform best with higher amp hr batteries as does the grinder

Yeah, makes sense, I'll pick up some bigger batteries. Still surprised it didn't last 5 min with two small batteries, LOL. Saw seemed to cut good (at first) and I like the size of it. Thanks.

I can’t remember the price. You just call and give them the part #.

I'm looking to get a mid torque impact wrench, and realize I need at least a 5AH battery. For working on astro Vans and an E350 Ford van.

What's the best way to do this?

I have drills and impact drivers in 12V and 18V, but no bigger batteries than what came with them.

And does the 9AH work in the impact wrench? If so, does it help any with power? Does it become too bulky and unbalanced?

Bill
