Does anyone have the new compact radius light with the flood mode 2144-20, just looking for opinions it seems like a decent light for the price the big ones are way to expensive to give my guys they destroy everything.

Pretty sure I only have a dozen Dewalts… 18v, 20v, 36v

If I add in corded tools... we are really gonna get some numbers.

I only have 12v and 20v dewalt. I get my money's worth out of using one til for many multiple things so a 12v driver, 12v impact, 20v impact, 20v drill, and 12v sawzall have been all I've needed for a good long while. This electric ratchet is the **** though. Only used air until now.

I have seen it in the tool store and will probably pick one up in a couple of days. Puts out 2000 lumens and what caught my eye was the hook to hang it from rafters or pipes.

I really like the 2361-20 octagonal flood light for employee proof. They put out 1300 lumens and are handy and tough.

Also have a couple of 2360-20 3000 lumen floodlights. They are quite tough also and have the 110 power option. They are directional and with 2 in a small space, really light up the area.

Have a 2130-20 tower light also. Puts out 2000 lumens. Handy light but its not exactly tough and have to be careful not to tip it over.

Anything over 2000 lumens eats batterys fast. 9.0's work good and new 12.0's would be better if they fit your lights. Hope all this helps

I have one, but have not used it yet. I also have the regular and OK full size radius lights which I love. Cant remember if the big ones take the 12.0 but the compact one does. The flood face might get beat up if your guys are infamous for not taking care of tools.

There was a loose M18 battery in one of my local HDs a few months back, so I popped it in a few tools to test modes/settings/etc. One of those tools was the compact radius light. I know I was in a very well lit space, but I was not that impressed with the light output on high. Doing the same thing on the trusty M18 3k lumen dual power Rover light and the difference was very noticeable. Sure, spec wise it's 3k vs. 2k lumens, focused beam vs. 360* glow...but I don't know, seemed like a glorified lantern with an awkward flood light. I'd much rather have the M18 3k lumen dual power Rover light + M18 lantern for those purposes. But hey, if you don't want two separate lights, it's not terrible. It's surprisingly compact, the plastic feels very durable, and it has nice mounting options. It's a "meh" light IMHO. Fortunately there are tons of options.

I have to visit your favorite place on Monday, the Westwood service center. But.... they had some upper management changes over the spring/summer and the new VP cleared house at many service centers, all the guys that worked the Westwood location were canned, one might of been safe cant remember but the 2 jerks were definitely axed.

Thinking about the Fuel Ratchet Gen 2 3/8.
Looks kinda fat and clunky. Maybe limited to *wide open* work

Do you like your RED ratchet ?

I wouldn't consider it a Gen 2 exactly. If they would have made the original one smaller &/or improve the power in the same size, then it would have been a new iteration. But the Fuel is more of a step up than replacement. None of the Fuel tools have directly replaced brushed tools.

My only reason to upgrade to the Fuel, is the my original 3/8's ratchet is now the ******* tool, being the only one that is not Fuel (where Fuel is an option)

I fondled both fuel and nonfuel... I needed a 1/4" ... so based on my need... the smaller head of the nonfuel... was a no brained... I can survive the brushed version if it lets me get into tight spots.

I rather have a ******* tool than constantly have reasons to yell at a tool that won't fit.

I'm looking to complete my ratchet collection with a Vet Day coupon this weekend and get the Fuel 1/4.

Who else owns all 5 ratchets?

I think the regular brushed ratchets are still a great buy for those in the market. I dont use one, i do own one, but they were around for quite a while and people raved about them. They haven’t changed.

I really enjoy my non-Fuel 3/8, and it's had enough power to do just about anything I want it to do. Anything more than it can handle is probably more than the Fuel could handle in the same space, and I just break it loose by hand or use an impact if there's room.

When I took the plunge... I bought 3 all at once... within a week I had 5... now 17... a year later. All M12

I went from 2 in March, to 16 now. Mixture of M18 and M12.

That said, my old Hitachi gear survived a LONG time, originally got it in 2010 and only replaced in 2018. Mainly because they changed the battery type (cassette to slide) and i couldnt get the tools i wanted in cassette anymore.

The original 3/8" ratchet was a game changer for me as a DIY-er who does a little bit of everything. I don't use it for everything, but I use it for a lot of stuff, especially under the hood and some suspension.

My OK table saw and 12.0s arrived yesterday. Is it me or is the 12.0 kinda hollow? It feels like there is a lot of empty space inside the box. Perhaps its for future bigger cells or perhaps a 15.0 or 16.0 LOL. Maybe with extra space for the future they wont have to adapt legacy products that dont accept a bigger battery like they did for the 9.0 and now the 12.0.

well, it is possible that they are allowing for expansion inside the case, but the battery seems to be getting pretty big as it is. i would imagine that while it is not a big deal on a stationary saw, tower/hanging light, or a lawn mower, it seems to me that it is getting pretty big and awkward for a hand tool.

besides, if they wanted to future proof the tools, they could always ship a new cover that is larger than the current battery, rather than one sized to fit it. if they did that with the 9AH batteries, they could have designed them for the 12AH's to have fit.

were i them, i would standardize on several general "sizes" (say, three for M18, and two for M12), and upgrading them to higher AH's using better cells.

of course, i am not the one who has grown a billion dollar tool company, so my advice is not necessarily worth a lot . . . .

Rocket, I think I would pass on the 1/2" mid torque. If your justification is taking care of most bolts on various cars, while being compact, the M12 3/8" or 1/2" is probably the way to go. Even the 3/8" M18 impact would work. When you run into something like a crank bolt, you'd probably want the high torque 1/2".

Right now the M18 3/8" compact is the cheapest. I think I picked mine up on ebay for ~ $110 new shipped. The m12 stubbies are little more at ~$150. I would go with the stubby.

I wasn't even thinking about the M12 since I figured I'd buy into the M18 world. I thought about the mid torque since it's rated up to 600ft lbs it would handle pretty much anything. I like the compact m18 3/8" but I feel like it might struggle with some stubborn suspension bolts. I just have bed memories from being in the midwest in the past and working on salted cars that make me cry

Having said that, fortunately I'm not working on rusty cars these days that require monster power for seized up bolts. The stubby seems pretty interesting... it's rated a little higher at 250 ft-lbs which would likely handle everything other than things like crank bolts as you mentioned, and I assume it is pretty small/smaller than the compact 3/8 and for sure smaller than the mid (or high) torque m18 line.

decisions, decisions...

Stubby for sure.

Lined up the High Torque, Mid Torque and the 3/8 Stubby.
1st (real tool) for me on the M12 platform.

I'm all M18.
Prior to the stubby, my M12 was just Propex, Adhesive Gun and Inflator

Have you seen the battery slot on the chainsaw? There's a 1/2" or more gap along the bottom of the battery so a bigger 1 would fit. With high power draw, more capacity in the future will be welcome for the chainsaw especially.

Post pictures of your unboxing :bounce: You definitely got a good deal there. It should come down to those prices next around in the big-box stores. I have a good feeling Int'l Tool had a good agreement with their distributors because they have more on the way according to their inventory status.

I still use the non-brushless one time-to-time. Still has its place. Reason why I didn't upgrade is because it wasn't designed to be a right-angled impact wrench at the same time. May too much to fit and cramp in too little space.

I wouldn't want any more weight to lug around though. I'm wishing now instead of getting two 12's, that I waited and got a 12 & 6 HO's. I'd get a lot more use out of a 6ah battery, than the the 2nd 12. Remember, the battery capacity isn't always indicative of the power it can provide (6ah HO is superior to 9ah, aside from run time). We can only make tool batteries so big before they lose their usefulness.

Other possibilities for that space, are room for the battery to breathe. Most of their high demand tools are much more open to air cooling that in a compartment like setting. Though the new batteries are supposed to handle temperatures better so maybe not that.
The space also allows for wood chips to exit out hole in the bottom of the battery compartment. If it was a "perfect" fit, maybe you would end up with chips getting stuck around the battery.

Are the old non-Packout organizers discontinued? I'd like to get some parts organizers but I don't want to spend the $45 on the Packout ones. CPO is showing them out of stock now, but the $19 price is nice. My local HD has 3 in stock for $20 each.

What is a non Packout organizer.
The original 10 bay is still at my Homers as of today for $19 or $20

My understanding is that the original organizer guess we will call it the "old one" :lol_hitti is not compatible with the newly released packout system.

Kind of a raw deal IMO...:wtf:

Though they WILL stack lock with each other :D

Just as an FYI for any one interested I do have one of them. I feel it is a very nice and SOLID box for $20 dollars and the quality beats most other "orginizers" though the storage compartment bins are quite large and really are aimed at volume. Such things as small plumbing parts Ells and T's of various sizes, EMT parts, wire connecters etc. small PVC, Nylon barbs and connectors, Various LARGE amounts of drywall or deck screws, metal roofing or self tappers. Carriage bolts etc.

For SMALL parts storage in small amounts it just doesn't work that well.

But take some bins out and you can customize the case and fit a tool in there also
