Got the multi tool to sand the window frames.

Had the radio cranked up, I can’t work without music. I also love that it charges the batteries when plugged in, plus I can use the usb to charge other stuff. One simple thing I appreciate is when switching from plugged in to battery it does so seamlessly.

Yeah, I'm dealing with it... (the new guy is in the middle, though all three are new since the holidays):
ZQsMU7.jpg

(comparo-slash-justification thread here)

^^^ Nice set of tools

I have them too except my High Torque is still a Gen 1 beast

Curious how much that 6.0 HO weighs as opposed to let a say 4.0XC

For my uses I usually don't need to weigh the mid torque more than I have too Just as an FYI its has performed admirably for me even with 2.0

Stubbies are different though IMO M12 needs 4.0 XC and up for real power boost

Show the new radio MORE :D

So what do you think of the sound

Does it have a USB in jack?

Any other features worth talking about beside just being a battery charger

What is that anyhow one M18 battery or does it like do M12 too?

I've got a couple 4.0 batteries - will see if i can put something together over the weekend.

I'll definitely be testing that out at some point. I only have one M18 2.0 though...

Yeah - I'll probably only ever have an XC 4.0 or XC 6.0 (probably the latter) on the stubby unless I'm in trouble. I've got a number of the 2.0 batteries for my other M12 stuff.

Usb is a charging port. Don’t know if it would play through it, I just use the Bluetooth. It does have aux in though. Just m18, can charge them if plugged in or run off it when not plugged in. Will still charge your phone from the m18 battery though. Personally I live the sound but I’m not an audiophile. If there’s anything specific just ask. I actually asked Milwaukee before I got it if it took small batteries to retain memory and clock function. The support chat told me that it does not. When I opened the package it had 2 AAA batteries to install lol. Shows how useful support can be.

My awesome wife and boys surprised me with an M18 set for Christmas. Red is a massive upgrade over the cheap Black & Decker tools I used to have.

One observation: the batteries included in the set don't last too long. I'll have to spring for some bigger ones before long. Fortunately they charge quickly.

Not too happy with eservice. Bought an open box hammerdrill/sawzall (2720-20) combo in Nov from International tool. When I received it, everything was in the original packaging and looked like it was never opened. Serial number shows it was made in 2014. When I used the sawzall for the first time the trigger failed after 30 seconds of use. I sent it back for warrant repair it was denied. I provided a proof of purchase. Warranty doesn't mention anything about open box.

The email attachment from eservice states "OUR FACTORY TRAINED TECHNICIAN HAS COMPLETED YOUR WARRANTY EVALUATION. AFTER CAREFUL EXAMINATION IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT FROM ANY DEFECTS IN MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP AND WILL NOT QUALIFY FOR WARRANTY COVERAGE."

How is a switch failure not a defect. I will be following up with them.

Google their corporate higher-ups and figure out their email structure, eg first.last@milwaukeetool or whatever.

Blast 'em all and you'll get a response. You can try the "proper channels" first but they'll ignore you.

Does anyone know if the horizontal rails in the shockwave bit cases are available by themselves? I'd like to snap another one or two into my cases to make use of the extra space to store spares. I've came up empty in my searches so it looks like I'll be left to buy used empty cases and cannibalize them

Mine came in yesterday as well, the rapid charger is a nice upgrade too. Thought it was a way better deal then the saw + 8.0amp @ 250.

Kinda overkill to break down one pallet but I'm sure it will come in handy in the future.

I saw the other deal and noticed the larger battery went for that. The vacs kill them.

Im still on the fence on that 7 1/4" M18 saw or the 5" M12 saw with free battery at HD. I have a $100 HD gift card burning a hole in my pocket.

Thing is, I have the standard M18 6 1/2" saw and rarely use it lol

No good deals on what I wanted. Got the blower for the $79.00 listed on the display price tag vs the $89.00 that came up at the register but not much of a deal. Didn't buy the $21.00 per wheel replacement wheels at those prices may as well just buy a new or new to be used hand truck. Know it's different Milwaukee that's doing hand trucks.

Have a hand truck form the other Milwaukee the one that sells hand carts with 20 or so year old pneumatic tires I want to replace. They're the 4.10x3.5 tires anywhere you can buy just the tires to put on?

Great pics of the new Radio

Just as an FYI here is the rip guide came in for my FUEL 2731 saw the part# is 49-22-2731

I thinking it will also work for the 2732 as the base plate on that one still look to be the same as the original model. Whether it works for the new non fuel brushless is hard to say as the magnesium plate has been replaced with cheaper aluminum one

*Just to note the 6 1/2" FUEL saw does take a different part# 49-22-1005

Either part # are les than $7.00 in stock at E Replacements too.

Side bennie for me the guide also fits my old Makita 6 1/2 cordless perfectly too :D

This was my first M18 purchase as well, both are super solid tools. I've expanded my Milwaukee collection quite a bit since then (mostly automotive use), but somehow the first one I always reach for is my good old 2656... there's not a lot it won't do, lug nuts included. It'll tighten those just below 100 ft-lbs, and I torque them with my click-type from there... works perfect!

I'm disappointed the USB plug which I believe is for power only is in the back within the battery box and theres only 1 USB, believe it still has a mini aux input.

Does it have a USB in jack?

It’s on the side. The back is subwoofer and speakers.

Ahhh...THAT I now see. :D

Still its access is behind a door is that correct? :headscrat

Thinking having an external USB slot (like on the front face) for easy device plug in charging would be a handy feature.

The 2891BT speaker USB/accessory input/AC power ports are behind a small external cover

They are inside the door so you can put your phone inside where it’s protected from weather and dirt.

Oh I agree. In fact when I use my big BT speaker at the outdoor sales market I do, my MP3 player, Tablet and even my phone is exposed to prying eyes as often I have to have it plugged in and boost the charge.

And ya that's the been standard setup from Milwaukee and others. Even my old 2590 M12 Radio has a door to stash your device under.

Cripes that model has been around since the beginning of the Red Lithium battery era :lol_hitti

Still an outside easily accessible charge port would be handy to have.

That way you wouldn't have to leave the door open if someone ELSE and isn't there ALWAYS someone :spit: on the job site wanting to charge their device with your equipment :twak:

I have a ton of M18 Fuel tools...and a few M12...

Looking at getting the right angle M12 die grinder...Amazon has bare tool at 207, kit w/ 2 small batts for 260ish.

The other item I am considering is the M12 Underhood light. Kit 2125-21xc...Amazon has kit for 207...

Anybody got comments on these tools...or a better price...thanks.

Under-hood light is very awesome. Lots of light, and diffused so the shadows are pretty mild - a fair bit of light everywhere

Try Home Depot on the Die Grinder. Got mine after Xmas for $169

Great tool, super handy. I’ve run roloc sanding disks and polishing pads, wire brushes and carbide burrs. Thing is great!

pffft. Ain't buying into the MX anytime soon.

Too bad. I've got a Husky Gasser 14". Was wishful thinking on a M18 14" cutoff...

I dont see Milwaukee doing anything in the m18 platform where they cant seriously compete, or just dominate over competing platforms. Something like that cart wont be bought by many people not in some kind of industry. I bet if that ever come out, we’ll see a demo of the thing carrying cement bags - uphill, or **** - maybe even up stairs.. lol

That's too much. Pretty much all the authorized Milwaukee dealers sell em for $169 w/ free shipping bare tool. I got mine for $149 shipped when ToolNut had the $20 off $100 deal.

Great tool though, I love mine. Not a replacement for my air die grinders due to the size but much more convenient/quicker to use. Definitely a keeper. Can't wait for the straight one to come out.

I love the underhood light. So far Ive actually used it more for non-automotive tasks. It stretches nicely across 4 rafters for working in the attic. The light detaches from the mount so you can hang it from a hook in a dark room. I hung it from the gutter on my deck the other night while I grilled some chicken

Very versatile

The under-hood light works great door to door across the roof for more light inside a car/or truck. I'm using a corded one now wiring a Jeep truck.

Ha. Not sure if on your radar, but they actually make hand trucks with wheels that do climb up stairs....

I don't know how long the Makita variant has been out. Maybe 2 years. Ha, was wondering how long the RED version would overtake it.

I picked up 3 of the new Milwaukee trim squares over the weekend. The 4 1/2 inch size should work well for metal fabrication and be a lot easier to keep on your person rather than laying it down all the time.
