Hey, you guys with a transfer pump.

I'm considering the transfer pump as a tool to keep the water off my pool cover in the fall and spring. The specs say up to 480 gallons per hour.

Am I making a mistake thinking I can pump a couple hundred gallons of water in 30 - 60 minutes whenever 4 - 8 inches accumulates on the pool cover?

.

Pump works awesome. I use it for the rain water in the pool as well and works quite nice. Also use it to transfer fresh water into my camper and I have timed it. Pumps 7 gallons of water in 45 seconds. Very very nice unit.

The transfer pump works very well, don’t tell anyone, but I have a dedicated one to pump diesel fuel/heating oil. Definitely not brave enough to try gasoline. ;)

Hope to try it out very soon. Its the only bare tool to ever come in a case?

Very very nice. Watched a video on them. Looks pretty awesome.

Yeah, but $150 off + 10% off + another $50 discount using a $50 HD pro perks award, how can I say no to almost half price. Plus I am running out of things to buy lol

I looked into those, but the price is pretty steep.

More than Snappy.

Yeah, the Snappy doesn't run the fastener in, but still.

Holy ****! I'm confused. Is that photoshop? Paint? It looks exactly like the U.S General box/side cab but red, except it has black drawers like a Craftsman.

Excellent work. Truly a complete picture now.

I think that is photoshop.

I think that is photoshop.

If it's photoshopped, he also photoshopped an extra charger on the wall, an extra shelf next to the circ saw, and different reflections on the clock.
The milwaukee logo also looks to have depth like a raised emblem.:shocking:

...unless there was another very similar photo w/ the blue boxes that was the basis for the photoshop.

The amount of clamps, the head lamp position, the charger with green light. A lot of little differences.

My money is on he bought 2 new red HF 44" boxes (one black and one red) as well as two new side drawer cabinets, took out the black drawers and put them in the red boxes, scraped of the USG decal and slapped a milwaukee decal on.

Sounds like an expensive endeavor but by the time you sell the blue cabinet and the black/red cabinet, you're not out that much money and I've done more to satisfy my "OCD".

I hadn't even considered that, that would be dedication! :eyecrazy:

Sorry, didn't mean this to be a guessing game on my update. Should have been clearer

Not photoshoped. I removed all drawers and wrapped the blue USG box. I bought the 3d printed Milwaukee logo from Ebay UK

I moved some tools around and made a holder for the brad, staple guns, and jigsaw

I would not even know where to begin on the wrap. Do you xacto the edge and the start the wrap on the other side. Or do you somehow manage to wrap the edge and continue with no lifting

It is pretty heafty, feels more than the stated 5lbs, twice as thick as your typical clicker.

I dont really need it, have two 1/2", a 3/8" and a 1/4" torque wrench already. It will be nice to run down and torque wheel bolts in one step. I do 10+ wheel changes a year. It's just a why the hell not cause I'm crazy.

Actually I would be super interested in a 1/4" version that does inch pounds more.

Dacan -

What's the app. for the digital torque ? It just seemed so dang bulky

crazy - heh, maybe.

Yeah, I got 1/4 ---1/2 in CDI digitals already.
Just looking at the tool, I was saying, dang, it's bulky...and I feel the CDI's are bulky at times too, but it is what is with since it's got electronics on it.

Got the new high speed ratchet. Now this is what I really wanted for a cordless ratchet. Way smaller head, shorter length, & lighter. Feels much better in my hand than the old Fuel. Surprisingly the bigger head on the older one didn't bother me much but I didn't like how heavy & long it was. Always felt like the old one was too slow & is the main reason I upgraded. I love this new one!

When I saw the announcements for the new M18 impacts & this new ratchet, I told myself that I didn't need them & wasn't worth upgrading from what I have. But some how I have all 3 now!

Any chance that you have a non-fuel ratchet to throw in the mix for a visual comparison. I also stayed away from the fuel ratchets since they were so big, but the new high speed fuel looks about the same size as the non-fuel version?

I like the idea of the M18 stubby impacts, but can't get past the fact that the battery sticks out so far beyond the working end of the tool. Poor (lazy?) design on Milwaukee's part in my opinion. A great tool that you have to use an extension on for practically any job which reduces it's effectiveness a lot.

Unfortunately I don't have a non-Fuel ratchet. Looking at pics this new one appears to be similar in size to the 1/4" Fuel head, maybe even smaller?

The M18 battery being a slide pack, I really don't see what MW could do to avoid having the larger battery hanging off the bottom.

I'm one of the few that doesn't like the fat grip size of M12 tools because it has to be large enough to fit the battery in the handle. M12 tools feel too uncomfortable in hand to me & I'll avoid buying M12 when I can. So much that it is a deal breaker for me. It's the reason why I never bought a M12 stubby & settled for the older wimply M18 Compact impact (I had the 2nd gen Fuel). I guess I just have stubby fingers. I'm really happy with the new 3rd gen Compact & I love the tri-LEDs on these new ones.

M18 grip size feels so much better to me, but for certain tools I have no choice but to buy M12. I'll buy M12 before having to buy a different brand/battery platform. The only M12 tools I own are the ratchet, & the 2 die grinders.

They could put the M18 battery further back which would throw off the balance of the tool. It would let you get into the tighter spots without an extension but might make the tool too unusable.

Here's something interesting (& surprised me). I've never cared to measure the speed on any of my cordless tools. Decided to measure the speed on the new high speed ratchet & the old Fuel ratchet before it goes to my brother.

So MW states 200 rpm for the old Fuel 3/8" & 450 rpm for new high speed. There's a video on YT where the guy says MW states the high speed ratchet is the fastest currently on the market even though there's a Makita ratchet that claims 800 rpms or something. But according to him he says that MW states the high speed ratchet is still the fastest under load.

My old Fuel 3/8" measured 230 rpm no load. My high speed ratchet measured over 1000 rpm no load! WTF!

c90bbef2ce54dd374f1d22e16dcf497a.jpg

bf3b33087dec1baf7117b28116830d26.jpg

So not believing what I was seeing I went & tested my tach on something else & it seems to be working fine. Then I dug out my old tach & got consistent results.

3d8c816cdf43e2984e1a66bd5998268d.jpg

2439e6cf5dd0ffb18e6fa3297e2fdb76.jpg

So I'm assuming because the high speed ratchet doesn't have a lot of torque the speed will drop when under load and that's the rating MW gives. But some other tools don't seem to be rated this way. Of course load can change depending on the fasteners & condition. Kinda wonder how mfgs are testing for these ratings. Another no industray standard rating, haha? Well whatever I don't really care. Just thought it was interesting & wanted to share.

And since I had it out, might as well. M18 3rd gen Compact impact, rated for 2400 rpm on mode 3.

darkzero, doing the Lord's work and some citizen science.

You are likely dead nuts on, every manufacturer probably has their own way of testing the tool to give them the best numbers possible for the type of test they run (torque, RPM, etc.) so it is hard to compare between brands without someone doing exactly what you did.

dz, your really peaking my interest in the high speed ratchet. I cant wait to compare it to the old non fuel in size. Hope HD has them in store soon, though I will probably end up getting it before that happens.

It will be the last M12 ratchet I buy for a long time, thinking I will get the 3/8. If you count the M12 torque wrench I already have 7 of the ratchets.

Wow 7 M12 ratchets! Nice, gotta collect em' all!

I'm not trying to "sell" anyone to get one but I really do love this high speed ratchet! IMO MW really did a good job with this one. Haven't been this happy with getting a MW tool in a while.

If you do get one I'm curious how it compares in size to the non-Fuel.

Went to Home Depot for something else and saw they had a 8.0/3.0 set for $169. The 8.0 by itself was listed for $159. There was none on the rack so the employee had to climb the ladder for me.
