I am going to buy an m18 sawzall soon whenever a good deal comes up. I am using an old ryobi one my uncle gave me that isn’t good. Just picked up my first m18 batteries today on the promotion for the 8.0 and 12.0 forge.
my uncle has a small m12 hacksawl I can borrow anytime I need it. So I want to pair it with a real powerful m18 saw.
I haven’t tracked these and I know they usually put out new ones of each tool every 3 to 5 years and I’m not in a real rush since I got this ryobi. But is there a good recent release m18 sawzall and if so what model number or should I wait a year or two for a new version?
wait though your saying this super sawzall isn’t that good they fixed some issue with a new one but I should buy the old one?I think the super sawzall has a longer stroke and an orbital mode, its also heavier. It does have the janky blade holding mechanism that they fixed with the Gen 2 fuel sawzall.
Just trying to point out the + and -'s I've heard as nothing is perfect. I have a gen 1 fuel with the crappy blade mechanism, but I can live with it and even more so that I just keep a torch blade in it most of the time. Would get the super sawzall or gen 2 depending on the deal available and there happens to be a deal on the super sawzall.wait though your saying this super sawzall isn’t that good they fixed some issue with a new one but I should buy the old one?
I have two m18 sawzalls….great tool. I have three m18 hackzall fuels….and use them 99% of the time. Having a free hand is very handy.Thats the reason I haven't jumped on the super sawzall deal right now. I use my hackzall so much I question if I'd get much use out of it at all.
Festool has one.Jeez it took someone forever to figure out how to make a dust separator into a box...
Good to know. Let's just say I have faith in Milwaukee, but they definitely have some duds every now and then.Festool has one.
Didn't work worth a damn and I sent it back.

How big of a battery will fit in there before interfering with the base / magnets? That's my only complaint about the standard Rover (and I love those enough to own two).
Incidentally, those lights are part of a BOGO offer at HD right now (buy specific, more expensive tools, get that light free).

The retrofit kit is free and my Gen 1 fits a 12ah just fine.Kind of ironic that a lot of the M18 lighting products don't play nice with 12s. Maybe the Gen 2 and up tower lights? My Gen 1s can only fit a 9.0 and I never got the retrofit kit either.

It was only this morning I learned that on 29 Nov - 2 Dec all Icon sockets will be 40% off. I reckon I'll go back then and get the deep sockets.

This is what ALL DC-DC converters do !Dc-dc is usually very inefficient. The "right" way to do this is to convert it to high frequency ac then back to DC. ( switched mode power supply)
