Slightly confusing that, according to Milwaukee on the Home Depo site, it wont fit the 2754 wrench.

Scratch that I'm dumb. Sorry I miss read. Possibly call milwaukee. I swear I thought it fit the new 3/8 Milwaukee would know.

The gen 2 boots are not available at distributors but I was told by customer support you can call in and order directly from Milwaukee.

I used my TrueView today, had to disconnect the power outside to do some work in the main panel right next to the main lugs, so I preferred to play it safe. 100% better than a flashlight!

I have a real Milwaukee light problem, just ordered the 2360 Flood light 5.0 battery combo from HD for $134. Here is a list of all the M12/M18 lights I have. According to my records theres only 3 lights I dont own... lol

M12 Work Light
M18 LED Work Light
M12 LED Work Light
M12 TrueView LED Lantern Light
M18 LED Flood Light
M12 LED Stick Light
M12 LED Stick Light
M12 TrueView LED Spotlight
M18 TrueView LED Flood Light
M18 TrueView LED Stand Light

Have you used them all? I bought the M18 LED worklight then later on bought the M18 TrueView Flood Light. I find myself dragging the Work light everywhere and the Flood light has been in the garage untouched for almost a month now.

I've used/owned most of the Milwaukee M12/M18 lights and hate to say it, but the M18 worklight is probably the least impressive of them all. It's output is terrible compared to every other light they produce.

I use the M12 Stick Light all the time, hence why I have 2 of them, mostly for car work. The M18 LED Work Light is usually being used also because it can stand on the ground securely.

The M12 old Work Light is upstairs with the house tools.

When we lost power the M12 Lantern proved very useful because my generator is not wired to all the lights in the house. Will mostly use this on the deck when nice weather arrives because the lights on my deck are not very useful.

The old M18 LED Flood Light is great because you can stand it on its side, use it to shine in many ways using it straight w/ hex shape, or with the handle you could hang it from a bungee cord. It produces a lot of light. Its about the size of a big tissue box so you can stick it almost anywhere and can be used underneath a car.

Just got the new M18 Stand Light it will be used instead of my LED plug in light that I usually put somewhere high and shine into the engine compartment. My halogen stand lights are near death and this was obviously the best replacement for them and its uses.

New M18 Trueview Flood Light arrives next week. I really wasnt going to buy this model, but after selling so many of my extra M18 batteries, and the 10% off I got, it should only cost me $75-85 in the end after selling the 5.0 freebie. I really like the old floodlight and dont think this one is a versatile, from what I have heard its big and bulky and not as portable as the old one.

Most of the time when I quickly need a light I grab the M12 Stick Light, its small, easy to hold, good light output, and yet can stand or hook onto stuff. Though when its standing its can blow over with the wind.

I have big jobs to do on all 3 of my cars in the next month or so, will then see how all the lights work out.

I seriously had a dream about Milwaukee last night...

I dreamt that I was at work and we all got called in to a meeting. After a few minutes in there the guy at the podium started up and introduced himself as a Milwaukee rep who was there to talk about their FUEL line of tools for our type of work. I stood up and said "I know allll about FUEL. I have everything! I think I'll head back to work then." and he said "You're free to go" and I stopped and turned back to him "Actually, I have one question before I go. Why don't you make 2-way M12 radios and call them Milwaukee-Talkies?" and he went "Like... this?" and held one up. :shocking: "I think I'll stay for the presentation". Then I woke up and was mad that I didn't get to see how they worked or anything about them.

I seriously had a dream about Milwaukee last night too! :wtf:

My dream was that I was hired as their new director of marketing and I was trying to convince them they really needed to step up their direct marketing to existing customers and that they needed to get a cordless tracksaw to market as quickly as possible. :spit:

Used my Milwaukee true view HD $149 special and it did a great job, wonder how many don't take the clear film off of the sense and it melts on over time?

I just bought replacement batteries off eBay for the outdated and discontinued Motorola radios we have at work. We have bigger jobs coming up and I don't feel like being the guy that loses a hand because someone else did something stupid. I was thinking the same thing though - that 2 way radios woulda been a good idea for the m12 platform.

Gotta say though that I was really surprised at how cheap the generic replacement batteries were for the motorola's off eBay.. I bought 4 new batteries and another charger for like $75. I'll get reimbursed for the money anyway so it seemed better than waiting 6 months for my company to replace them.

So the new M18 Trueview LED Flood Light came in today. See attached pics of my Milwaukee lights.

I took all them to a dark room to do some quick comparisons.

M12 Incandescent Work Light vs M12 LED Work Light, obviously the LED is brighter, but the old one has a wider light pattern. M12 LED WL vs M18 LED WL, identical in brightness and pattern, as expected.

M12 LED WL vs M12 Trueview LED Spot Light, Spot Light is brighter obviously and meant for a far illumination.

M12 WL vs M12 LED Stick, Stick Light is brighter and produces a wider pattern.

M12 SL vs M12 Trueview LED Lantern, in 360 degree mode Lantern provides a nice overall light, in 180 mode its almost flood like.

M12 Lantern vs M18 Old LED Flood Light, with Lantern in 180 degree mode it is not as bright as the Flood Light but not far off as I expected in 400 vs 1100 lumens.

M18 Old LED FL vs M18 Trueview LED Flood Light, new one is over 2 times the size of the old one, more than double the height, little wider and deep. I was not impressed with the power of the new Flood Light especially considering its 3000 vs 1100 lumens. The new one does produce a nicer light color. I was shining the lights about 12-15 feet across the room, perhaps its a more noticeable difference over a greater distance. Will have to test in some better real world situations.

M18 Old FL vs M18 Trueview LED Stand Light, again surprised in the minimal noticeable performance difference of Old FL vs SL since its 1100 vs 2000 lumens. Like the new FL the SL has a better color.

Other thoughts about the new Flood Light. It does not come with a power cord! It can use any 3 prong extension cord, but the M12 Radio comes with a cord, the M18 Bluetooth Radio Charger has a cord... All the new Trueview lights have only one button that cycles through modes as you press each time then turns off. I prefer the power and modes to have separate buttons.

Overall my favorite lights are the M12 Stick and old M18 Flood. The M12 Lantern is impressive overall light, would like to see how much better the M18 version is since its 700 vs 400 lumens. In performance both the new Flood and Stand Lights are a little disappointing, though the whole stand setup is very nice overall. They are mostly disappointing because of their high cost.

I think you might be the first person to say they have been disappointed in the new lights. I have the tripod at work.. I've used it on many jobs outside in complete darkness and I honestly think the thing it great for what it is. Considering the closest model to the Milwaukee is made by Pelican, and costs around $800 or so - it's more than you can get anywhere else..

I also wanna get the m18 lantern. We have been doing a lot of underground/manhole work lately, and that seems like it would be a big help.. I just wish Milwaukee made a protective boot for the lanterns, (and some of the other lights) to keep the lens from getting beat up in storage and transport.

If you're not happy with any, you can send em all this way :)

I too have been doing some comparisoning of my own...

I'm trying to get everything finished up but not sure it will be all rendered by tonight in time to go out tomorrow morning. Thus, here's a teaser:

I think I am disappointed because my expectations were too high. I do like the new Trueview Stand Light despite a few little nit picky things, I am only disappointed that its performance over the old LED Flood Light isn't more.

The new Trueview LED Flood Light is a different story, I am again disappointed because I thought the light difference would be more significant. My main problem is that it is so big, not even close to portability and versatility as the old Flood Light. Its not really something you drag around often. Back around xmas some places had the old FL for $60-70, I'd rather have 2 of the old one versus 1 of the new one.

Yes covers/boots/bags/etc are lacking for the new lights. The Trueview FL does not fit in any of the Milwaukee bags unless its left unzipped! I will probably leave it in the box unless being used. Trueview SL is also in the box until I find a sleeve bag it fits in. What I did was put a microfiber towel over the head and put a large rubber band to keep it on. I need to learn how to sew to make a nice cover/boot for the Trueview FL & SL heads, Lantern, Spot Light, etc.

I think the M18 Lantern will be the next additional, if it is significantly more powerful then the M12, it will be a great outdoor light.

Interesting the Trueview on high is not much different than the 500w Halogen except in light color. Was it a dual 250w halogen or a single 500w bulb unit?

Just ordered a Tanos systainer for my M12 drill and impact. Don't like the blow molded cases they came in and these seem well regarded. I'll post some pictures of them in shadowed foam when it gets here.

It's a single bulb 500w, but note that this is the very edge of the light cone. I did tests of both the center and the edge to show intensity of light, distance of light and also angle of light. The takeaway from that teaser is the Snap-On is way better than all the others as far as filling a wide area.

What do you use the m12 fuel 1/4 impact for? Interested in getting one for working on vehicles.

Stuff that you dont want to risk breaking. Great for replacing door lock actuators, window regulators, anthijg with smaller sized bolts.

Thats what I use mine for.

thats an m18 homie.
with the power settings on the m18, you really dont need an m12. setting 1 does 30ftlbs. setting 2 doesn 75ft lbs. and setting 3 does 210ft lbs.

I am a collision tech and use my 1/4" Fuel as often as I can. I'm amazed at the versatility of this tool. Having 2 torque settings is a huge plus. I've been using 1/4" impacts for 20 plus years and this is by far the best I've used. You will not be disappointed. To answer your question, any fastener with an 10mm diameter thread or smaller regardless of drive head style or size.

I have the M18 lantern and really like it. I do a lot of construction work and use it when working in rooms without lighting yet. The electrician was doing a service change in a building the other day and I was helping him to get power back on as quick as possible. We used the lantern in the utility room on high setting for a few hours and it was great. We had a generator ready if needed for a flood light but never had to fired it up. It could be brighter but it is pretty nice.

Anyone know how long homedepot is going to be having the sale where you buy the 3/8" M12 fuel impact and get the 1/4" ratchet for free, http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauke...-Ratchet-Tool-Only-2454-22-2456-20/205044519? I've been watching it for about a month now and they have been out of stock online and don't sell it in stores. Just don't want to miss the deal. They do have the 3/8" impact with free 3/8" ratchet in stock but I would like the 1/4" ratchet.

I've got the M18 lantern, M12 LED and original M18 flood light

The M12 LED is nice for getting into tight spaces. I wish the magnet was more versatile though. If I could redesign it I'd at least had 2 or 3 different spots you could screw the magnet into.. it always seems like I need to flip the tool over but don't have anything to stick the magnet to then. Brightness is great for the size. The adjustable hook has never done much for me.. looked like a good feature but I've barely used it.

M18 lantern I never really loved to be honest. But that's also probably because I don't have a good use for it. It's too big to use in tight spaces on cars and not bright enough to light up larger areas. If you were using it as a lantern (surprise surprise) it would work great. The built in USB port is a huge plus, I think I've used that more than the light itself. And the battery life is long enough that I've never had to think about it

M18 Flood light is my favorite though. Forget trying to get into a tight space. If you can get this thing pointed in the direction you need light, you'll have plenty of light.. I've wire tied it to a hood and pointed it down at an engine bay several times and it never disappoints. Battery life is great given the output.
