So the new M18 Trueview LED Flood Light came in today. See attached pics of my Milwaukee lights.
I took all them to a dark room to do some quick comparisons.
M12 Incandescent Work Light vs M12 LED Work Light, obviously the LED is brighter, but the old one has a wider light pattern. M12 LED WL vs M18 LED WL, identical in brightness and pattern, as expected.
M12 LED WL vs M12 Trueview LED Spot Light, Spot Light is brighter obviously and meant for a far illumination.
M12 WL vs M12 LED Stick, Stick Light is brighter and produces a wider pattern.
M12 SL vs M12 Trueview LED Lantern, in 360 degree mode Lantern provides a nice overall light, in 180 mode its almost flood like.
M12 Lantern vs M18 Old LED Flood Light, with Lantern in 180 degree mode it is not as bright as the Flood Light but not far off as I expected in 400 vs 1100 lumens.
M18 Old LED FL vs M18 Trueview LED Flood Light, new one is over 2 times the size of the old one, more than double the height, little wider and deep. I was not impressed with the power of the new Flood Light especially considering its 3000 vs 1100 lumens. The new one does produce a nicer light color. I was shining the lights about 12-15 feet across the room, perhaps its a more noticeable difference over a greater distance. Will have to test in some better real world situations.
M18 Old FL vs M18 Trueview LED Stand Light, again surprised in the minimal noticeable performance difference of Old FL vs SL since its 1100 vs 2000 lumens. Like the new FL the SL has a better color.
Other thoughts about the new Flood Light. It does not come with a power cord! It can use any 3 prong extension cord, but the M12 Radio comes with a cord, the M18 Bluetooth Radio Charger has a cord... All the new Trueview lights have only one button that cycles through modes as you press each time then turns off. I prefer the power and modes to have separate buttons.
Overall my favorite lights are the M12 Stick and old M18 Flood. The M12 Lantern is impressive overall light, would like to see how much better the M18 version is since its 700 vs 400 lumens. In performance both the new Flood and Stand Lights are a little disappointing, though the whole stand setup is very nice overall. They are mostly disappointing because of their high cost.
