New M12 stubby impact was leaked. 550 ft/lbs of nut busting torque. So probably more like 300-350 in the real world. But that's still enough that it could be the only impact a lot of people need. It's also listed on the Napa website at the moment.

Hmm.... Interesting. That's more than 2 times the current M12 impact numbers.
I'm invested in M12 and in the market for a 1/2" impact, and something M12 with actual power would be perfect.

We'll see how the newstubby .....the original M12 Stubby with 250lb....half the time, it wasn't good enough for even lugs....so I grab the mid torque probably 95% of the time..

Here's some more stuff that got leaked on reddit

70cc power (5.8hp) when you activate the Peak Power Mode button, or 4.4hp in Standard Mode. Rated at "up to 60 cuts per charge in 10" hardwoods". Also worth noting it includes the new 8.0Ah Forge batteries (48-11-1881). $799 for the 2 battery kit.

So....in another thread on here the thread author mentioned that Milwaukee leaked a new M12 stubby that's smaller and rated at 550lbft. I'm not finding anything on google.

Have any of you fine folks heard about this?

Scroll up on this page for a link to it on Napa auto.

I wonder why/how that 3/8" impact is on Napas website, but not even on the official Milwaukee website or HomeDepot website.
It's not on the Pipeline (aka new tools) page nor can I seem to find it literally anywhere else.

I'm interested to know the ETA and also curious if they will have a 1/2" version like they do with the current M12 3/8" impact.

The information got leaked early. It should be officially announced this afternoon along with lots of other new stuff at their pipeline event.

Didn't realize I needed a new chainsaw and stubby. Although I think need to wait to see if the new stubby can give my Astro nano a run for its money.

At least Milwaukee knows their customer - we want more powa out of just about everything we buy.

Here's a good write up on a lot of the new stuff they just announced.

And this link will open up the full milwaukee press release with everything.

Thanks @techieman33. From the above link. Here's the highlights to me (with my useless impressions):

I have the "need" for a 2nd chainsaw now:

Edit: Here's the chain specs

A $500 power strip? Trying to think if this has anything over my Amazon Alexa enabled power strip...

Am not hopeful for $10 per amp hour for a while:

1719512235459.png

550 nutbusting puts it close to the astro nano?

1719511962323.png

kind of like the plugin capability of this vacuum, but its down 30% on the power with the batteries.

This looks like those 3rd party amazon lights, although the USB charger seems like a +

Geeze, I'm usually better than that. I must have been a page or two back and not realized it.

I'm actually thrilled about the stubby. When they released the HO 5.0 batteries last year I was hoping that it was a sign that they had new tools brewing, such as a new stubby, that needed the extra juice.

The power strip has built in load management and will turn individual outlets off and on automatically. So you could plug in a dozen different chargers and it would cycle through them without popping a breaker. Not something most of us need. But I could see the OPE and concrete guys that go through a ton of batteries using it to let them charge all of their batteries overnight.

Who cuts a 10-inch log with a 20-inch bar (unless that's your only saw, but still isn't typical use)??? Why would they brag about how many cuts they can make on a 10-inch log?

I'd still need a TON of batteries to keep up with my lowly 2-stroke Husqy.

I'll probably wait until the next M18 generation...

Finally! This is a game changer. It looks taller than I'd like for my purposes, but maybe in another ten years we can get a more shallow version.

I dont travel with a lot a huge tools that would benefit from the tall size of this. But the legacy version that requires opening from the top becomes a huge hassle and is primarily used by me to have the wheels. I'd rather this be 1/2 the height, can put stuff like some rolled up extension cords or a tarp in there instead of tools.

And then have drawers stacked on top for my actual tools.

According to another press release - price is $250 and comes out in January 2025

The link shows Milwaukees finally coming out with a battery roofing nail gun and the description says “for small jobs” ;) I’m curious to see a video review on that when it comes out

Thanks. Kind of interesting that it still requires the chargers themselves. Wonder how eloquent the setup looks with 12 chargers connected. Maybe a few 6 bay chargers and 4 battery power supply (that doubles as a charger) sprinkled in for good measure.

Looks like a standard m12/m18 rapid charger draws 2.75 amps so in theory one could have 5 plugged into a 15 amp breaker... for reference.

At 80% constant load you max a 15a circuit out at 12amps. If you run 5 chargers, you will be at 13.75a peak load. You probably won't peak the circuit the entire time but if you fire up 5 rapid chargers with big AH capacity batteries at the same time, you MIGHT pop a 15a breaker.

I think it's so you can plug in whatever you want. M12, M18, MX, Dewalt, whatever you need to charge. If you just wanted to do M18 you would probably be better off with their dedicated linking rapid chargers. You can link 10 of them together without overloading a 15 amp circuit. And you can put them in rapid mode during the day to charge them up quickly. Then night mode at night to charge them slowly which helps extend their longevity.

THAT looks cool! Can't wait to see the price (drop) on one of those.

This would be committing a sin!

Kind of surprised none of the stock chargers have a discharge mode. I guess Milwaukee expects its customer to use the batteries.

5 rapid chargers
I might need to try this one of these days. Right now have 3 rapid chargers + a slow one + my astro induction charger on one circuit so am probably cutting it close.

Anyone see any u-tube or any blog with a side by side pic of the new Stubby and the Mid Torque...
I grab my Mid Torque like 90% of the time....as the current stubby just lacks power that I'd rather have on tap.....instead of switching between guns.

It's the exact same length as the old one. The body has changed a little bit, but I doubt it's enough to change what it would or wouldn't fit into.

I have a couple ideas:

  • Sell them
  • Replace anvil with 1/4" drive to use with 1/4" sockets where the extra torque of the new model would shear the fastener off anyway
  • Replace anvil with 1/4" bit end or use socket to bit adapter to turn it into a powerful impact driver
  • Keep the 1/2 drive in your car emergency kit for roadside emergency tire changes with your lug nut socket pre-installed

Sprayer - love. Have dedicated tanks for insecticide, fungicide, herbicide, a dedicated Round Up one, etc...

Pruner...not my thing. If I'm using pruners, it's generally going to be making specific thought out cuts or just -deadheading- etc....I want the smaller lights ones that will do the task....I rotate between a few of my Tobisho, Niwaki and the Felco's are the beater pruners if I'm pruning and it may see dirt if I'm doing roots on a -root washout- etc.

I gotta compare the new Bandsaw to the current one just for my own WIKI

I see they released a new M18 sprayer. I hated mine....and ended getting the m12. Not looking back or forward on the new 18. Hopefully they have sorted out the kinks

I dunno if Ridgid had the -patent- on their press lock jaws but I see Milwaukee has copied the designed and launch it. I wonder which kit is smaller - Ridgid or Milwaukee. The only that I can say based on current specs is that the Ridgid jaw set will only it work/fit on the m12 Press tool and the new ones released by Milwaukee appear to work on both M12/M18 Press tools. I actually have both....like the M12 and got the M18 down the line as it did gas as well

Does anyone have the M12 grease gun? Is it worth buying? I maybe will use it once every couple months.
I have the m12 for a few years never let me down on my old dodge and trailer. only downside is if you don't use it enough and leave the tube in it without pulling the plunger back it inevitably leak out. Would I buy another, absolutely with the frequency that I use it for. Hope this help.

I have the Gen 1 M12 Stubby in 1/2 drive. I'm very interested in Gen 2, and I'm also interested in adding 3/8 to my toolbox.

I'm wondering if I could buy the Gen 2 M12 Stubby in 3/8, and swap anvils with my Gen 1.

Then I'll wind up with a Gen 1 - 3/8 Stubby and a Gen 2 - 1/2 stubby. The Gen 1 is probably powerful enough for 3/8 work.

Anyone have any guesses if this might work?
