Picked these up last week and not sure why. I was looking at them and google must have been selling my info to the Home Depot and all of the sudden these were $170 as a kit with batteries and charger and a drill index. The more I looked the more the deal got sweeter.

These are the subcompact version and about 20% smaller than the fuel versions which I already have 2 sets. As I said not sure why I got them but hoping to keep the impact tucked in my tool bag.
I've been pretty happy with mine even though I'm one of those few who hates M12 ergonomics. I mainly use M18 at work but been wanting something compact for interior & under dash work (I work in automotive but not repairs so I spend a lot of time in the the cab but not all).

When these Subcompacts came out I bought just the impact driver for $80 (vs $200 for the set). Then when I saw the the set, impact driver, drill, & 2 batteries for $150 at HD I canceled my order & bought the set instead (well I got the $160 bundle that included a bit set). So glad I got the set instead cause the drill has came in very handy too & was a much better deal.

I still use my M18 impact driver & drill primarily but these Subcompacts have been a good supplement. I just wish the impact driver had a quick collet & the drill had higher RPMs.

Does anyone have experience with the drywall screwgun? 2866-20
I am looking at doing drywall in some of my shop and want to make things easier. Seems like it gets mixed reviews online.

If you are only doing a small project you might want to go with something like this:
or
I like the ones like the second link because the bits are replaceable and reuse the extension.

We just released some Milwaukee Battery | Charger wall mount organization products. We also make them for a few other brands and more brands coming soon. They are all battery specific not universal. The batteries lock into the shelf with the exception of the Milwaukee M12. available on our website,

Excess cases and chargers?

What do y'all do with your excess cases and chargers when you are forced to buy the kit when the bare tool is not available? Hate to just throw them in the trash but I'm getting to that point.

m12 chargers go to habitat for humanity where they join a horde of other orphans whose owners also got m18 and realized the m12 chargers were pretty useless.

I fill the cases with dirty diapers and other refuse, then leave them in the bed of my truck. Kindof a honey pot trap for dirtbag theaves

Hard cases or bags?

Obviously, the bags can be used for anything.

The cases can be repurposed, there are videos on YouTube. Basically, cut out the inner layer (shaped for specific tools), and use it like that, or add foam that can be shaped for a different tool.

Large stock of Milwaukee @ 11:00 in the 60 minutes video below.

Kind of interesting for those of us frustrated by all the Milwaukee locked up in cages at HD... sounds like that theft pails in consideration to the amount of logistics theft... heard $42.8b in LA alone.

The M12 chargers are useful to turn into power supplies for cars or other things. You can gut them out and turn them into a cordless electric fuel pump.

Interesting! I just found this video (based on your suggestion), wouldn't have thought of that myself!

I have a sprayer tank like the one in the video, I wonder how long the pump would run on an M12 battery?

If you build something like that, make sure you incorporate a low voltage cutoff board so you don't murder your battery. It is also a good idea to put an on/off toggle switch inline/use a relay so you have an actual on/off switch instead of having to pull the battery to cut power.

100% convinced now that I need the mini blower. Just need to wait for a deal to come along though...

86 decibels is kind of loud from a meter away. Under similar methodology Torque Test has the dual blower at 87 decibels. Can anyone subjectively comment on the loudness vs the m18 blowers? It's notable that Milwaukee measures its decibel ratings at the ANSI B175.2 standard which is about 50 feet away which is why the blowers are 50-65 decibels based on their specifications.

At work, blow molded cases generally get tossed, we have a 30 gallon drum filled to the brim with M12/M18 standard chargers, most the time just get multi-bay chargers to carry on the truck.

How does the new RA compare to the old one?

I need some new 18v batteries. Are we anticipating Black Friday deals on the current crop of batteries?
I am expecting at least a few good deals on M18 batteries this year. Maybe not the best thing in the world ever but should be something worth waiting for if you don't like that current deal. I think the current one is a 12.0 and a 8.0 + rapid charger for 240?
