The only Milwaukee tool I've been unhappy with is the M4 screwdriver. Too big and too slow for my liking.

I'm getting ready to purchase the Fuel grinder (2780 with paddle switch), and the Fuel 2731 circular saw (7-1/4"). Hoping to score them cheaper on Cyber Monday

Milwaukee power tools I'll own all day! Hand tools though, not so much. A buddy of mine drank the Kool-Aid and bought a few pairs of their cutting pliers. Man they were the worst ever, he hurt his wrist using their diagonal cutters on copper wire.

Now he has a full set of Knipex.

The M4 is a powered driver, but it was disappointing to me. I'm with you on the hand tools though. I'm not impressed. The T&G pliers are pretty good, but the rest of it is mediocre at best IMO.

Maybe i'm lucky (or my standards are low, but I've had great success with their hand tools:

8PC Screwdriver Set w/ SQ Recess
Aviation Snips Straight 4030
Aviation 12-inch Snips Left 4010
Aviation 12-inch Snips Right 4020
10" Locking Pliers 3410
7" Locking Pliers 3407
Linemans Pliers 3309
6in1 Combination Pliers 3069

YMMV

I really like the Fastback utility knives and the pair of scissors that I have. The scissors feel tight, cut well and are surprisingly heavy. Oh I like the vise-grip copy clamps too, but they're not exactly cheap.

But yeah, for pliers and screwdrivers, I'm in no hurry to buy.

I want the new 2636 14ga shear JUST BECAUSE. But I'm also waiting for some sort of a sale, even if its just $25 off any purchase or something.

Using the screwdrivers for months, all day as an electrician, and they've been great. Bought them for the ECX bits.

I have a lot of the cordless, and my only regrets would be the M12 ratchets, if I hadn't gotten them as freebies.

@ Blatterjr: My issues with the hand tools isn't really a quality issue. Maybe it's psychological, but they just don't do it for me.

@ Ign: Zoro carries Milwaukee. I'm just waiting to see if they do their usual 30 or 40% off sale this year. They aren't the cheapest regular price, but they will be the cheapest during their sale.

I sent Milwaukee a letter asking them to make a track saw.
They thanked me for my enthusiasm and said they'd make sure my letter got to the right people.

I think EVERYONE here should send them a letter asking them to make a track saw.

Did I mention I need a tracksaw?

If you're looking for deals on M18 batteries and have a milwaukee repair center in your area, they frequently get batteries back from Habitat For Humanity, since they're a sponsor. Houses get built, tools get returned. 25 bucks for the compact and I think 35 or 40 for the larger packs. They also will have chargers and the occasional tool. M12 driver at the local one for $40 (sold out).

ya but those are the 3.0 ah batteries.

do you still get the 20% increased power with the 3.0ah batteries, but a decreased run time?

because as i understand it, the 5.0 compared to the 4.0 is the same power but more run time. so if the 3.0 is still in the same configuration as the 4.0, i'd pick them up for the power with less run time for half the cost.

hope someone can chime in before sales start in the morning

edit: did more searching, it looks like the 3.0 is just a glorified 2.0.

videos i saw of testing showed hackzall use (i used the same hackzall ALL day cutting conduit and tubing/bolts at work the other day with a 4.0 batt, ran awesome). the 3.0 to the 2.0 was exactly 50% more more done. but the 4.0 to the 3.0 was more than 50%. it did the 2.0 and 3.0 cuts plus a little more. it would be interesting to see what the 5.0 would do considering the upgrade.

as far as power it's hard to say without any meters being used on any of the tools, but the "feel" in the videos was that the 4.0 was more powerful than the 3.0 due to the 3.0 getting caught up in the boards being drilled through/cut sometimes.

i'll probably stick to my compact batteries at home for the light work where i have to carry a drill at my side. and buy 4.0 for work where i tote things around in a cart.

Yeah I know it's just a 3.0. It seems like a good deal. IDK, maybe I'll wait until I can get more 4.0 for around $70 on Amazon. I do definitely notice a difference from the 2.0 to the 4.0 on my circular saw the sawsall, and my 1/2" impact. I'll wait on them. Thanks for the heads up.

Just picked up the M1/2 14" impact and 3/8" drill kit @ HD for $99. Came with a free XP battery which is prefect for I'm want the 1/4" Fuel M12 impact. Now I can just buy the bare tool.

Power will be roughly the same with all of the batteries. You will however, get more runtime from the higher amp hour batteries.

You might see an ever-so-slightly increased current draw from the higher amp hour batteries as well, but it wouldn't be much. This would translate to slightly more power at the tool.

Well I went to Home Depot and got the $99 2 pack of XC batteries anyway, I'll use them for my drill and impact. I also got $49 compact blower, a $20 shockwave impact bit set. And an impulse buy, they had a Milwaukee plastic tool box for $40.

I fit my sawsall, 6-1/2" circular saw, drill, impact driver, several batteries and the charger in the box. I like it

How well does the blower work? I had it in my cart, but took it out. Seems wimpy.

It is wimpy, but it's not meant to be a leaf blower. Good for cleaning out the workshop if you don't want to fill your workshop w/ 2-stroke fumes.

As much as I'd like to see one, I think it'll be years before it becomes as good as the Festool. Judging by how my 6-1/2" Fuel saw sprays everything within a 10 foot radius w/ sawdust, they have a long way to go...

I got Festool TS55REQ @ 30% off during one of their reconditioned sales. Came out cheaper than the Makita and DeWalt.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. I'm going to use it for blowing leaves out of the garage and a quick cleaning of the sidewalk after mowing. I don't think I'd pay $100 for it though.

Gear heads Get this!! I am using my Milwaukee m18 blower to blow water out in between cracks in my car when I wash it, it works wonders and saves lots of time rewipeing after those runs spots appear later... I have a corded version made by chemical guys but again, that cord is a pain!

If you have motorcycles or ATV's the blower would be great for drying them after a wash. It will get 99% of the water out of areas it shouldn't be in. Compressed air works great too.

Yeah - that's what I got it for - blowing out the garage, the shed, and the bed of the truck. Works really good for that. Even worked decent to blow the grass clippings off the sidewalk. Wouldn't use it for leaves in the grass or large jobs but it does the light things well.

Not worth $100 but at $69 it's an OK buy. At $49 it's a no brainer!
