I'm making the jump to all Milwaukee after using a mix over the years. If I opt to buy on Ebay am I going to regret it if warranty work is ever needed? I plan to stock up on Fuel!

I would let the amount of work or abuse they will get factor in on that one. Have heard u can get the M18 fuel from HD for $250 right now with the $150 off they are offering on next purchase. People are saying they can take that $150 off your purchase price. That's cheaper than a refurb kit right now..

Read the terms of sale from the ebay merchant. Some will take returns and are authorized dealers. Some are just individuals selling stuff. I have bought most of my collection from Amazon or ebay merchants and have been satisfied. I haven't had to put in a warranty claim yet though.

I bought the hammer drill at Home Depot and it failed the first time I used it. They took it back for an exchange of another one.

Costco is also carrying a fuel drill , sawzall, and impact combo kit.

I looked at the HD $150 off deal but can't get a mix I prefer. If they offered a 2720-20 Fuel Sawzall, I would go for it. As it is, I am thinking of the 2796-26. It has the 4 main items I am wanting. Hammer drill, impact driver, sawzall and circular saw. Grinder would be a nice addition.

Trying to piece it all using the HD deal adds up quickly. The 7 1/4 circular saw bare is sold out otherwise I would start with that.

I have a shelf full of Red plastic cases, and really like storing my tools in them. I figure if I buy the 6 piece kit, I'll be watching ebay for cases to show up.

I might go to a couple of local dealers and see what kind of deal they make me if I buy a full set at once.

I can imagine if you post here what cases you are looking for, you will be able to get them from members for a pretty good price. I have several cases and don't see myself ever using them again. In fact, I've moved most tool cases to my attic as my garage isn't big enough to let them waste space.

Nice, I'm waffling between HD getting the Fuel kit and 1/2 impact wrench, CPO with a sawzall/hamer drill combo and free 1/4 fuel impact or just grabbing a deal for the 6 piece kit off ebay.

Now that you mention finding cases easily, the ebay deal looks best. A decade ago I bought a Dewalt 4 piece kit on ebay and they are still running strong. Going to sell them when I get my new tools.

Thanks for the advice.

Maybe post a wanted on Craigs for the cases. I know I've got tons of them piling up, as I am much better organized for the jobsite using bags, and I notice many other contractors doing the same.

I never kept my dewalt tools in cases. I used the drill all the time so just left it by the door. Gonna miss the snake light as we used it all the time as well. I may be overthinking the need for cases. They just look cool on the shelf in a nice row. I'm not a pro, just a guy who likes nice tools. Never hurts to have too many. Sooner or later I find a use for each and am glad I had them.

I'll post a picture of my Milwaukee collection once my new (just purchased) 6 piece kit arrives.

Bolts, duh!

No I'm just messing with you. I have used mine for lighter duty automotive work so far. It has some pep, but I don't feel it would bust bolts loose.

Are prett happy with yours? I'm considering the 3/8" for some DIY automotive work.

I've already got the impact driver combo and plan to get the 1/2" impact in the next couple weeks.

Oh neat, looks like they dropped an M12 dustbuster as well. Hopefully they don't make a $100 again like they did the M18 blower.

Yes I like it. I also have the 1/2" impact for everything else. I have not had to pull out my Snap On MG725 air impact in months. I replaced the transmission in my Tahoe recently and only used electric tools.

Well boys I drank the kool-aid and gave in. I got $100 off, for cyber week and the 1/2" impact was a "free" add on tool. I thought it was good idea, to finally cash in. These tools will be the replacement to my craftsman c3 line. I am excited to use these in the future, I helped a contractor build a house with milwaukee tools and had a fantastic time using them. Sorry for the messy bed...

New M18 3/8 right angle impact (2668-21CT) and the M12 rotary tool (2460-21). Haven't used the impact yet so can't say if I like it. And since I haven't pulled out my corded Dremel in ~8 years I'll probably never use the rotary tool LOL

Damn you Milwaukee and Home Depot. Went in the other day with a coupon for a beverage fridge and walked out with the fridge + a 2653-22CT M18 Fuel kit. Had to use it the other night and it's a beast. And with the prices of the compact batteries (already have 2 of the XC) it's a no-brainer to go for the kit.

on a side note of drinking the new red koolaid. i just got my m12 LED light i threw onto my northern order and basically got "free) after the 50 off 250. the light pattern on this is awesome, i wish other light makers would take a page from milwaukee's book on how to build a light that actually distributes light evenly over the entire surface and not make it look like the oldschool type light where it had super focus in the center and the outsides has dim light. this thing is pretty nice. gonna be handy for all kinds of stuff including power outages and working in the garage.

My thoughts exactly on the light pattern. I really like the "even" light it puts out.

I don't know if anyone else has found a "solution" yet, but I've seen the "problem" mentioned in several threads without comment... the $30 flippin' magnet for the M12 stick light. I couldn't see spending that on what seems to just be a plain old magnet for my $80 light, either. I finally found a much stronger, much cheaper solution.

<$10 for 2 of them, just add a 1/4-20x1/2" flathead screw. :D Note: I've got no relation to that company or product, not pimping, just sharing.

Damn thing is almost too strong, stick it to a decent, flat steel surface and you have to yank it pretty good to remove it.

Hardware store solution for me too. Got a 50lb magnet, bolt and nut for $11.

I'm jealous of your hardware store then... all mine had that coulda worked was regular old cup magnets with like 10lb. pull.

I like this one so much, I bought a 2nd stick light to use the other one! :lol_hitti

OK, not really, I bought a 2nd one just because. :D

I was at our local HD this morning and saw this led light and M18 xc 4.0 battery for $79 in-store:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-XC-4-Ah-Extended-Capacity-Battery-with-M18-Cordless-LED-Work-Light-49-24-2735/205366308?keyword=045242341740

I've been looking for another M18 battery for the M18 1/2" High-Torque Impact Wrench (2663) I found last week with one battery and charger, all for $199 at the local Big R.

But I couldn't find any batteries locally, and ordering them generally looked like the $80 range, so I decided the light/battery combo was worth it, even if the light itself is a little funky (as in, can't replace the led).

Check out my version. The arm hardly ever get detached and it's extremely versatile.

You'll like that light. I have one and it 's great. I suspect the LED should last a pretty damn long time. That's a good deal considering the battery's included. I bought my light brand new, in the package off of CL for $25. I don't ask any questions , but the guy's had some pretty good deals on new Milwaukee stuff. I've bought quite a bit from him.

My local HD has cut prices on some of the accessory kits and tools.

This includes the 25/16' tape measure, driver kits, the knife combo, etc.

I snagged up some more discounted stuff too. The Milwaukee wire strippers were reduced to $9, the mutil-screwdriver w/two can coozies were reduced to $6 and the tape measure two-pack was $18.

I need to get my stuff together and do a photo shoot. My 2796-26 kit came in. I'm selling the 2730 and buying a 2731 and 2763 impact. That should do it for my tool acquisitions this year.

No longer works. Pull trigger and just clicks. Had to drill 200 6" holes thru 1/8" aluminum panels. Only 600 more to go. So like 3 more hole hawgs worth.

That's good actually. Will provide data as to whether your first one was a lemon/manuf defect or the tool is simply not up to the task. Please follow up! Maybe even a separate thread if the next one suffers a similar fate.
