Who got the first M18 5.0Ah battery?
I wanna know how you like it!!!

My 2763 arrived today. Home Depot online really did a crappy job packaging it, they just stuck the UPS label right on the cardboard Milwaukee bare tool box. It arrived and seems okay though, despite the box being crushed in a couple of spots. I used it tonight to take a trailer ball off of a hitch, hammered for a second or two then spun it off.
Still haven't used my M12 Fuel Hackzall yet, but charged it today. Hope to try it out on a 4X6" oak timber tomorrow. I did compare it to my M18 Fuel hammer drill, aside from the battery it's almost exactly the same size. The Hackzall grip is a little thicker due to the battery, but the body diameter is the same and the body length is very nearly the same. I'm still torn on whether I like it or not. If it can make a cut or two through the oak timber tomorrow I'll probably come around, if it can't I may see if I can swap it for the 3/8" Fuel impact.
When you first set up the scenario, I figured it wouldn't have a problem. Then you said it was oak. Next time I would suggest not letting it lock up like that. Give it a break every little while. You know how far you can go before it locks up.
I only say that because others on here have mentioned that allowing the safety to trip can shorten the life of the tool. I have no way of knowing whether or not that's
I'll be happy to give you my 18V drill. Its been a piece of **** since day one. Batteries puke all the time. Heaven forbid its cold outside. Even new batteries won't stay charged. I bought it thinking it was quality. What a POS. For $70 you think A Battery would CHARGE MORE THAN ONE TIME. I have 4 batteries. Only one will take a charge and it only works for 2 maybe 3 pulls of the trigger.
Seems like they're just trying to leverage their brand equity to expand into other lines. They don't have anything outstanding, it all seems like middle of the road, might-find-it-at-Home Depot-clearance-section-type tools. Nothing is good enough to make me re-buy any of my current tools.
just got my subcompact m12 bandsaw today. that thing is nice, the weight and size are awesome, the throat is a little small, i wish it was at least 2", but i understand why they made it fit almost exactly 1 5/8" (for unistrut), this thing will definitely be one of the baddest tools in my arsenal at work when it comes to doing conduit/pumbing/hangers in the overhead and on the ground at work. not to mention getting quick and easy cuts on all kinds of angle iron and square tube without taking them to the large bandsaws, or trying to find plugs or man handling the bigger portabands. i don't know why everyone shouldn't have one of these, seems just as useful as the hackzall is for when you need to make quick cuts and hold material in one hand while cutting with the other.
A couple new additions. I hope to net about $30 for each light, which would put me at $25 for each battery. Blower was from a member on here, and got the 2763 for $121.62 + tax.

I strongly disagree.. they dont put ANYTHING out wihout making some type of improvement or inovation, not even their markers. if you pick up any of their hand tools, and compare them to a comparable dewalt, there is a huge difference, weather it be a tape measure or a pair of pliers..
Do they make a fuel version? Or just the 2429? I haven't gotten one because of the throat width, but the price may have me reconsidering.

and how did you get those light/battery combos for $55? last i saw they were $79.. i bought two..

This is for my little hobbyst. If is red, is Milwaukee
And for his father, some Milwaukee hand tools. Even if they are made in Taiwan, they are good quality.
Are they? I thought it was China.
Oh and I love the Markzalls but the clips snap off the caps WAY to easily. Surprised Milwaukee wouldn't think of this and beef the clips so they take some abuse. I'm always clipping them in my back pocket and even Sharpie caps hold up better. Hmm, I wonder if the Sharpie caps fit? Now I gotta go look........

Exactly. The Dewalt kit to be exact.
+1....IMO the Dewalt kit is the best choice for the promo because a sealed box made the return fast, easy and maximized savings.
Exactly. Some stuff is gimmicky but for example their linesman pliers, have been put up side by side with the holy grail Klein's and the old timer doing the comparison (seemed like a completely honest review) said the fish tape puller worked easier, the side cutters cut more easily and found the reamer to work well. Doesn't mean it's better than the Klein's but at the least it means they made a pretty good tool. Impressive if you ask, me to reach out there and with one swing are comparable to one of the best...and that's just their linesman pliers. Would I buy a pair? No. Can't get over the gimmicky part. Just like even though I'm a dewalt fan I won't buy any of their hand tools. I already have my go to handtool brands.Ehh sorta. The truth lies in the middle for me. They add some useful innovations to some of their hand tools, but sometimes I think they try too hard and border on gimmick.
If your yardstick for comparison in hand tools is DeWalt...I don't even know where to begin...
Right on. Same price point, same market....and now I want one of those tapes, although they cannot REPLACE my 35 foot Stanley with great standout...but I'd reach for the Stanley a whole lot less, as well as all my other tapes. Why wouldn't you compare it to Klein or Knipex? This isn't Harbor Freight vs. Snap-On prices here, they're asking similar prices as Klein and Knipex. So yes, they should be directly compared to Klein and Knipex.
You can rationalize all you want, I still haven't found anything worth buying.
And if you want an awesome tape measure.

I agree somewhat with the Dewalt tools but you're taking it a bit too far. Besides I know there are guys who love their mechanic set from dewalt, because of the "high quality" for the money...and their linesman pliers use more leverage to make cutting and gripping easier, although the trade-off is less jaw capacity, kinda like the crescent side cutters...fyi I'd never buy the dewalt pair linesman pliers, and if the Milwaukee. Wer the last ones on earth, I just might. I baught a dewalt 35' tape when they were new to the market and first time on the jobsite the coil busted or something and my tape went everywhere...a dud? Maybe, but I'll never buy another.well yea. - why wouldnt they be? they are both competing tool companies, and are direct competitors in almost every sense of the word.. its unfair to use something like klien or knipex as the benchmark, as they specalize in this area, and have not "branched out" to include new hand tools.. all dewalt does is find some made in china typical pliers and such, gives them yellow handles and slaps their name on them. at least milwaukee designs all their own tools, and if you watch alot of video reviews most people are suprised at how well they do.. take one of milwaukee's tape measures for example.. its probably one of the nicest, most "why didnt anyone else do this?" tape meaure on the market.. its simpe solutions like a magnet on the end, and a case desinged to allow you to comfortably use your finger as a brake, that make stupid things in life a little easier.. and you dont need to spend $50 to get it either.. its also, designed much better than the comperable Dewalt.. you'd be hard pressed to find another utility knife that has as much of a following as Milwaukee's also.. i dont think i have ever read anyone even mention one of the dewalt's knives.. dewalt and milwaukee share the exact same target market, it only makes sense people would compare their hand tools just like their power tools.
A pair of Klein's can be had for just under $30 at HD. I just checked.

m swag came today![]()
Since this is the addiction thread, I picked up the Milwaukee tool box today for $20 after coupon and the screwdriver with can holders ($8)
I don't really need the box but I can use it and at $20 I like it.
did you watch the tools in action review on the box, when they were throwing it off the back of the truck? lol
i gotta say i do like the dewalt tough box stuff - although im wondering why any dewalt tool box you open in the store smells horrible..
pretty disappointing how it just pops open with little to no effort on a small fall... you'd think a mobile tool box would be built to stay together especially from short falls from worktables and such.
