I hate locking my box up at work when I walk away for 10, extra unnecessary steps over time equal annoyance haha.

Maybe they should include some worm gear clamps with it so you can keep it shut while it bounces in the back of a truck without a lock.... hah

This is my my first post on this forum, tons of great info on here! Anywho I am a field mechanic and have been using my milwaukee fuel brushless 1/4" nut driver for close to three years now almost daily. It has been a tank. Only issues I have had is the #2 and 3 power select lights quit working, and it doesn't like the cold. But I keep it in the warm truck so it's not much of an issue. And rubber grip has torn off due to chemicals and oil. have not seen any loss in power, I finally killed one battery but it was cracked for a wile. other than that I love this thing. I was using a snap on 3/8 gun before, it had good power but heavy and not balanced well. I also run a 1/2" drive milwaukee brushless gun, I have not used my IR 1/2" air Impact sence buying the 1/2" fuel. Great products. Just thought I would share my experiences.

Sounds like you get some real money out of your driver, you should drop it off at a repair center and take advantage of the 5 year warranty, get those lights fixed. Better to use it than just lose it right

I would like a new grip, but I'm not too worried about it. I was thinking of moving to a 3/8 fuel when this one goes. Anyone have any experience with the 1/4 nut driver and the 3/8 impact to give me a comparison ?

Yeah I had both.

The 3/8 is about 80 ft-lbs stronger, a little longer nose to tail, but worth it. No need to deal with 1/4" adapters that sap your impact torque.

Yea I don't mind the bits, it's nice to switch from 3/8 to 1/2" drive. 80% of the stuff I deal with is 3/8 bolts or smaller so torque hasn't been too big of an issue, but a little more power would be nice. On side note, the milwaukee shockwave bits have been holding up great. They do break but not as much as others.

i don't think there anything wrong with having the lights for the selector fixed as long as the damage wasn't from being dropped continuously... it looks beat up, but if only the lights went out, who knows :beer:

I ended up getting the 3/8" impact for 2 reasons. 1) it's stronger and 2) I usually need more clearance when working on cars rather than driving screws/lags. For the time I have to use an adapter, I would rather use the 3/8 to hex adapter than hex to 3/8 adapter.

The M12 stick light seems perfect for automotive use, the M18 stick light not so much.

On the flip side, for in-home work use I was thinking a combination of the M12 stick light and the M18 lantern.

I will say that they m18 lantern is significantly brighter than the m12, but it's also a decent bit bigger.

On the same path...got the M18 lantern with the DW today. Is the M12 sticklight that much better for auto work versus the M18 worklight from the M18 worklight+battery combo?

I have that m18 light and while it's pretty bright it isn't as flexible (mounting option wise) as the m12 stick light and it's still a round beam... Very bright in the center spot but not even out to the edges. The stick light gets rave reviews for it's even lighting

Hey everyone, first post on this thread. Love all the info I get here. Now I'm about to pull the trigger on a fuel circ saw but can't decide since its cordless if I should get the 6-1/2 so it's compact or go full size 7-1/4. I mean cordless is about mobility right?

Well the obvious question is do you have a STRONG preference on right or left blade? If so, that makes your choice easier. If not, well you're no closer to an answer.

Advanced auto parts and no sadly it ended on Saturday. But they do have 30% off. If you price out your carts right (its best to do two carts) you can get it for a lot cheaper than anywhere else.

M12 vac is pretty useful. I posted my quick review in another thread:

I think a multi tool blade would burn up on removing grout. Personally, I'd try one of these recip grout blades.

EDIT: I'm not removing grout. I'm removing the thinset that creeps up between tiles BEFORE putting the grout in.

You should buy a multi tool because it's so useful and some odd job you will be glad you have it.

For thinset that creeps up, I'd go with what i linked to if you have a lot or just a hammer and small chisel if it's a small amount. Actually if it was a lot I might actually use a cheap air hammer. It makes quick work of that kind of stuff.
