Personally I think the Hole Dozer hole saws are way softer, so I think Milwaukee has erred and chosen toughness over hardness (tough cutting tools tend to be softer and less prone to breakage but simultaneously don't hold an edge as well)

Got a couple ?s

When did the M12 line come out? And then M12 Fuel?

When did the M18 line come out? And then M18 Fuel?

I've been current for maybe about a year, but before that I didn't pay attention. I saw slodat on Post #1901 said he bought his first 8 years ago.

RobotCow, I haven't used the MAC gun, but the M18 Fuel is frikin powerful. I used it for a lot of underneath stuff on a 1990 F350 4x4 recently. Very happy with it.

I have the M12 Fuel 3/8 also, and while it's great and gets used A LOT as well, the M18 seems like it is 3x the power. (I didn't think they'd really be THAT far apart, but they are.)

EDIT: Thanks LB-1911 ! Still reading it. Hard to believe this platforms been out for 8+ years. The sync with Henry Ford is really cool as well.

Is the Red Green show still on TV anywhere? Kind of ironic that name comes up in a thread about Milwaukee tools.

Saw these today... Does it mean I'm sick if I just want to buy some of these, even though I already have two?

Anybody know how long this deal goes? Can't seem to find it on their website.

Edit: I found it. It's still going on.

Yep, as of yesterday my store had a bunch plus the 2691 M18 combo at $169.

On a different note, when's the big trade show/media event thing? The 15th? I'm really, really wishing a string trimmer would be among new tool announcements!

IGN.....the only Yellow tools I have is their brushless framing nailer and the cordless vac. Prefer it over the Milwaukee.

I was waiting to see if Big Red would jump into the garden foray....as they have entrenched themselves in the plumbing, electrical foray. Anyhow, I got the trio of yellow 40V garden set last month and it's been pretty awesome just to fire it up and go....

I keep my Ryobi One+ batteries and charger for the "occasional" use tools that I dont need to spend Milwaukee money for (granted, I didnt really need to spend Milwaukee money for ANY tools, Ryobi for everything might have done just fine :) )

So far, right angle drill and oscillating multitool (although I did just pickup the M18 multitool because it was on clearance).

I can see myself adding the Ryobi 18V cordless lawn tools as well.....but my lawn is big enough that Im not sure they would last long enough on one charge. Im sure the 40V tools are nice, but I dont see a reason to buy into yet-another-cordless-line complete with larger capacity, more expensive battery packs. My 2 stroke string trimmer takes 2 pulls to start, so a battery pack doesnt save me THAT much time/effort.

The Ryobi handheld blower (old style, not the "hybrid" one you can plug in) seems like a decent deal, and might be going on clearance at Home Depot for $25.03. Considering it comes with a charger and small capacity battery pack, it would be a steal if you can find one. Id pick up the string trimmer if I could get it cheap, just for the occasional touch up on the front lawn if people are coming over (call it man-scaping for my lawn :) )

Ok so i just got my 3/8 square to 1/4 hex shockwave adapter but I think i may have a defective unit. The bits just slide in and the adapter does not hold on to them so they fall right out.

I have one of those blowers. They eat the NiCad batteries. 5 - 6 minutes usage, tops. Performance is a little better with the Lithium packs, but not a lot. they are nice for a quick 30 second cleanup, but based on my experience, don't plan on doing your entire yard with one battery, although it is still nicer than dragging a cord around.

Isn't the Milwaukee blower near that price now?

Sure is, in fact I bought one ($25.03 at some stores)

But the Ryobi blower comes with a battery and charger. I have a pack of the Ryobi 4Ah batteries that I got when they too were down to $25.03, but Ive read the charger I have has the chance of wiping out batteries (its the model thats been recalled for other reasons, but mine wasnt covered under the recall)

It would be nice to have the newer charger that comes with the Ryobi blower, even if I dont need the blower.

Info on this? I've been constantly checking the site and occasionally stopping in stores and they're all $79 for the Milwaukee blower. I could really use one...wish I got one when they were $59.

I purchased mine when they where $49. Honestly, I use it almost everyday for odd jobs. Blowing leaves out of the garage, clearing the sidewalk after mowing, drying the mirrors out on my cars after a wash. This has been one the better Milwaukee purchases I have made. It does go through battery pretty quickly though. Still worth getting IMO.

This item is an odd one in stores around me.

1 store has it for 69, I store has it for the "new low price" of 79 and 1 store has it down to 25.03.

During black friday/xmas sales, the store that had it for 69 had it for the "new low price" of 49. But it went back to 69 after new years.

So, if you have multiple stores near you, check them all (physically go there and find out a price on the SKU, dont call!).

As far as the blower itself, I havent used it yet because I bought it for drying off my car after washing. I love that it comes with a rubber nozzle, which will help prevent scratching the car from any "oops" while drying. And in this case, the short nozzle length is actually a feature since its easily liftable overhead enough even to do the roof.

This is mainly what I want it for, I have two mini blowers that are chorded and I'm tired of them getting stuck and having to keep track of the chord. If anyone finds one for sale cheap and is willing to ship let me know, even if I pay for shipping and some finders fee it'll be cheaper than my two stores so far. Maybe I'll take a stop by nj and look around.

Made over 200 cuts on 2x6 studs with my Milwaukee circular yesterday. It, compared to the black and decker that was on site, was awesome. Also used my Milwaukee Impact with a 4.0 battery to drive at least 300 3" T25 wood screws as well. The impact never overheated and the 4.0 battery was still chugging along.

I too am very impressed with the circular saw and battery life. I built a garage for my neighbor last fall and used that little saw for the entire project.

Does anyone have the 1'' or 1 1/8'' fuel sds by any chance. Im looking into replacing my makita cordless and not sure if the 1 1/8 is worth the extra cost. With our dollar the way it is things are pretty expensive again.

I have the 1 1/8". Body only was around $ 350 usd. I beat the **** out of it every week, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again at that price. With a 5 year warranty I shouldn't ever have to buy another one.

Anyone have the Milwaukee M18 LED Work Light 2735-20? Look for a new light and it looks nice but cant tell for sure how bright it is of course unless I have one in person.

It's great for flooding situations. Not very far throw, and no real hot spot. I would say 35 feet of usable lighting. It's great for under a car or hood, and definitely puts out enough lumens for such applications.

What do you intend to use it for?

My m12 stick light is a much brighter/better light. I've got both and they don't compare in my book.

Intended use would be general purpose, but mostly replacing my snap on 18v incadescent light for mechanic use. I used the snap on as a drop light replacement basically.

Well, thus far pretty disappointed w what I'm seeing from the New Product Symposium.

A 9.0 battery is pretty cool

A bunch of new knives, don't care.

An adjustable cheater pipe wrench, kinda cool but doesn't blow my skirt up.

A cordless planer -- it's woodworking so I couldn't care less.

At least 3 cool lights - a handheld spotlight, a swivel head flood and a flood on a stand that goes up to 5' height - kinda cool

They're of course pushing their new 46" toolbox, M18 Hole Hawg and Force Logic stuff, but that's not "new" to me. Ditto for heated gear.

A chalk line. Can hardly contain my enthusiasm - Bueller, Bueller, Bueller.

All-sixteenths, ie adjustable "crescent" wrenches. woopee, whoohoo (heavy sarcasm)

They're re-working their Fuel drills, like the 2604 becomes a 2704. Not bad, but how many iterations of a drill do we need?????

Drill bits - no thanks. As a machinist I know where to get REAL cutting tools.

Seems most of their claimed "80+ new products" are either hand tools or not so new.

9.0?! :eyecrazy:

Yeah that's disappointing overall. I was wondering if they'd dump more M12 stuff (just to make me feel worse for ditching mine), glad they didn't. :D

Yeah, but from what I can tell from the ****** Twidiot pics, it's quite a bit taller.....which leads me back to let's revive M28 if the whole idea of M18 was to get away from monstrous battery packs, but you're right back there IF you want to run the 9.0 which they call "high demand."

The did re-work the womens' heated jacket so that WILL please the wife.

I wish they would put out a cordless nailer to compete with ryobi and craftsman. My craftsman c3 finish nailer is my one odd ball power tool.

I have the fuel 3/8 impact kit with xc batteries getting delivered tomorrow.

Yeah kinda disappointed no cordless nailer. I would figure that would sell better than a cordless planer but what do I know?

I like the NM strippers but Im sure there are alternatives out there right now, instead of waiting until March of next year.

Allegedly a nailer in the next 1 to 2 years.

Allegedly a nailer in the next 1 to 2 years.

Ive kept my Ryobi 4Ah battery packs around specifically for tools that Milwaukee doesnt/wont make.

1-2 years is long enough that Id rather just buy an Airstrike (which would probably be the basis for Milwaukees version anyway)

I know Ridgid came out/is coming out with one....Im curious to see how different (if any) it is compared to the Ryobi version.

When they come out with one and it has good reviews I'll pick it up so that I only have one battery line I'm dealing with.

Arrived from Toolbarn yesterday! Decided to take advantage of their "build your own M12 kit" promo and get the 4.0 battery with it for free. Sorry thing is, the battery is on B/O even though they showed having plenty in stock at time of order! Oh well, I'll just have to use my 3.0 battery till it shows up!
