Gosh I hate when they continuously come out with new models! Those compacts look nice for those tight spots, which is why I initially bought my 2654 just 6 months ago!

I did buy the Airstrike. I made an adapter so I could use my Milwaukee batteries. Works much better than with the Ryobi batteries. I didn't want to wait for Milwaukee, and so far, I really like the Airstrike. I have the 18 gauge nail version.

i woudlnt be surprised if Ryobi is serving as a test market for some items.. i really like that floodlight they offer that can work off battery or a/c power..

Continuous? The 1st M18 Fuel drills and drivers came out nearly 4 years ago.

Nope. I asked about how much the brands cross-talk. It's more than coincidental how Ryobi, Ridgid, and Milwaukee all came out with cordless fans in the same year, right? I was told that, nope, they don't talk much. Maybe on the highest levels there's some cross-brand talk, but not between the product teams.

I'm curious what you did here. Would be nice to somehow use my Milwaukee batteries on my craftsman if needed

Ryobi had a cordless fan definitely throughout all of 2014 as I saw it in HD (the issue is a bit muddy as I think they eventually offered 2 models?) and possibly back into '13.

Ryobi has long offered string trimmers, nailers and inflators (and now the brushless 14" chainsaw) so, no, I don't think the brands talk much but I wish they would!!

Here's everything you might have wanted to know about the 6Ah and 9Ah battery packs:

https://toolguyd.com/milwaukee-m18-6ah-9ah-batteries/

Surprisingly in a heavy use demo, where they had Super Hawgs connected to dynos, the one with a 5.0Ah battery triggered its thermo sensor and shut-off. Ultimately, the 9Ah battery outlasted the 5Ah battery by about 110%, if I recall correctly.

So in extreme usage, 9Ah might provide more than 2X the runtime of 5Ah. I found that to be interesting, although most people aren't going to see such favorable gains. 80% more runtime will probably be the norm for lower intensity applications.

Id be interested in seeing how/what you made for this.....while I do have Ryobi battery packs, it would be great to just use all my Milwaukee packs instead.

Thanks.

Very impressive first use. It cleaned all the cat hair out of my laptop keyboard.

OT, but do you think Milwaukee will ever come back on Amazon......or is Milwaukee sticking to HD, and then B&M shops only....

I get my stuff from CPO, but man, if only they were back on Amazon....

No with Amazon direct. Those are all 3rd party sellers. It's been about 2 years more or less, since Amazon-Milwaukees relations went dunzo

I would like that too. Price competition would be good here, assuming Amazon would buy in enough bulk to get discounts from Milwaukee. Or, maybe Milwaukee won't work that way, which is why things went south with Amazon in the first place...

I think I've said it before in this thread, but I LOVE the M18 vacuum so much, I bought a second one (swap meet for $20). I keep one in the shop and one in the house. EVERYTHING gets vacuumed so much more often. Dog hair under the desk, dust on shelves etc.

And the cars/trucks get vacuumed every week now. Screw cords and big bulky shop vacs.

Yeah, reading your posts probably made me buy it. Last week I drilled 4 holes in a desk hutch to put dowels for a shelf in. I had to drag out the 30 foot central vacuum hose to clean up the sawdust. 15 seconds of vacuuming, probably 10x as long getting the hose out, unwinding it, coiling it up, putting it away.

I have the M12 non-fuel version and love it. It drills 3/8" holes 2" deep in seconds. The only reason for getting it is I had just over 100 holes to drill in a weekend for numerous shelves and a workbench. The older cordless hammer drill I borrowed was slower than molasses and went through batteries like crazy. I typically don't use it very often, but it more than paid for itself in the first two days I had it.

I asked about this last week.

It's about MAP pricing. Amazon wouldn't agree to a MAP agreement, or something to that effect, and Milwaukee didn't want to see their many smaller dealers damaged by this.

Maybe their partnership with Home Depot is a secondary reason, who knows.

I saw a video on this vac and I am impressed and did not realized it is a wet/dry vac.

One thing that stand out in the video is the noise. How noisy is this vac for those who have used it (db rating?) and has anyone try to **** water with this vac yet?

I'll have to look but their pricing on other brands stay very iniline with MAP on competing retailers. Sometimes it dips, sometimes they are higher, but Amazon on Tools is is not like they are cheaper than other retailers these days

Maybe 8-10 years ago when they had ~REAL~ awesome promos, aka, toolcrib days. But not anymore

Stu -

Can you maybe put some info of TGD.

I have called Milwaukee 3X to get the official specs on their rapid chargers. The 3rd time I spoke to a tech, I asked for a callback once he did some investigation...

What is the official spec of the rapid chargers per port. All 3 techs told me 6 amps DC total cumulative. So I told them that can't be right, cause if let's say 3 18's are in 3 bays, that means they are charging at the same rate of a standard charger...Online, they don't have a manual pdf I can download to quanitfy the answer myself

I then told them to pull up the spec on the new single bay rapid charger....and he said the spec on that is 6 amps as well. I proceeded to ask, well then, how does this make sense on the 6 bay rapid charger specs you are giving me 6 amps total cumulative . However, all 3 phones calls/techs have said the same thing. Sure would like to get a ~official answer~ on it.

I have no clue where my SPL is. If I find it I'll post it for you. But it's noisy as hell.

This. It's not quiet or even muffled by any stretch of the imagination. I've got the V28 x 2 (shop, house) which I think is identical to the M18 except for battery interface. I believe they could have made these multi-voltage as the inside looks very similar to the big shop radio, but they didn't. There's even what looks like a "blank" in mine where an M18 battery would go

Surprised to find that my local HD still has a bunch of these available. I have two sets, but find it difficult to not buy more. Lots of bang for the buck.

M12 Fuel Hex impact driver and one of the drills (hammer or non, either are 1/2" chuck).

Even the non-Fuel M12 drill is great for smaller stuff (3/8" chuck)

M12 stick light is nice too if you need a work light

I've looked several times at my local HD and have never seen this deal.

I did manage to grab a deal on bits. Buy the 42 piece shockwave set and get the 25 piece set for free.

I added a 12 Fuel Drill to my stash....figuring it would be good for overhead, etc work....

The only 12V I have is their Propex Gun, and Chaulk/Adhesive Gun.
Ended up selling the 12V Drill as I found myself just always grabbing the 18 Fuel instead....

Caulk Gun....it rocks.
I have both the sausage and 30oz tubes.....

That is one tool I think that is better than their 18V adhesive gun. Lighter is best for this type of tool

I recently picked up the M12 Fuel Drill/Driver. The thing is great and much much more powerful than the old Craftsman 19.2 it is replacing, all wile being significantly lighter. it is no comparison really.

I liked it so much I bought the M12 Fuel impact driver and circular saw (which both were just delivered today). I used CPO's "build your own combo kit" special when buying these and got a free 4 amp battery, 2 amp battery, charger, and contractor's bag. A spectacular deal, in my humble opinion!

Caulk Gun....it rocks.

I am looking to build a small log cabin next year and plan to buy one of these caulk guns to apply the chinking. Glad to hear that you like it so much!

I haven't used it on water yet. But I agree, it's noisy. Louder than I was expecting.

Another one for M12 fuel impact driver. It's by far the tool I use the most around the house.

Is that the screwdriver/impact kit? Haven't seen them in my stores.

Funny you ask... Since buying them on black Friday, I haven't picked any of these boxes up and actually looked at them recently. It's a driver and a drill with two batteries, a charger, and a bag, I just don't know which ones.

I'm afraid if I pick it up and actually read it... it'll end up in the cart.
