I haven't been in this store for a few years. The used to be a little south of where they are now, and on the other side of the street. They were in a tiny, highly cluttered location, now they look a little organized, and have a good selection of red candy...

I picked up this little guy, I'll only be breaking out the 2763 when this won't do the job. Interestingly, they had to bring it out of the back, there weren't any out on the floor, despite the large area devoted to Milwaukee. And they still use handwritten invoices on preprinted forms!

I wonder why they set it up so it comes on on the lower power setting when you first use it. The low setting is quite unimpressive. Then I remember to switch it to the other setting and think, that's more like it!

Hmmm, I don't have this problem. Mine stays on whatever setting I put it on, which 99% of the time is the high setting. I can go to lunch or home at the end of the day. Whenever the next time I grab it is, it's still on the high setting.

No, not all the time, just when it's brand new, fresh out of the box. First impressions and all.

3/8" impact is high on my list, but hard to justify sine I have so many air tools that do the same thing, and automotive driveway work is the only place I would ever use it. Not doing or planning on driving any lag bolts out in the field anytime soon. Probably get more use out of the circular saw.

ahh yea - the SCREWDRIVER does.. but so do the drills.

Last week I purchased a 2654 to go with the 2763 big guy for my birthday gift to myself. Then the Mrs asked what else I wanted and I pointed at the M18 oscillating multi-tool. She got it for me. I like her.

Got my plumber's level in the mail the other day. So I thought I'd share a few observations.

The small pvc debur feature is too big for 1/2" cpvc, and the large debur feature is too big for 1.2" pvc. Not sure how other sizes will work, because these are the only pieces of pvc I had immediately available. The magnets however, seem to be just about right. Not too strong for pulling it off of a section of metal pipe, and not so weak that it can't hang on the bottom-side of a section of pipe. The frame is cast aluminum, and the side opposite the magnets has the standard v-groove so it can sit on a section of non-metal pipe, and the insert is plastic. Both flat sides of the aluminum frame have the standard slot for viewing the 0* level gauge. Seems odd that they didn't incorporate a hanging hole in the end of the frame that they claim makes a good shovel scoop. I'm going to drill a hole in the end of the aluminum frame so it can hang on a nail.

Overall, it seems to be adequate for the primary job it's intended for, but I don't see where it's worth the $30 MSRP. It's ok for what I paid for it (like $15 on ebay w/free shipping).

I Have always liked Milwaukee.... So i ordered the FUEL Drill/driver kit come with 2 4.0 batteries? So im pretty stoked. Glad i can actually get other tools to use with it.

Yes I just purchased that kit on Saturday. 2 4.0 batteries, drill, handle, case, and charger. Very nice drill.

And the m12 vacuum was a total bust. I've got probably 20 different m12/m18 tools, and this thing is terrible. I bought it to use when cleaning out my cars or random crumbs on the couch from toddlers... couldn't even do that very easily.

M12 vacuum is useful to pick up drywall saw dust; my brother has one and it's weak. For portable vacuum, I would not use anything weaker than M18 vacuum. If you're looking to buy a powerful vacuum, I highly recommend Vacumaid Garage Vac Pro for cleaning car.

The Milwaukee fan is fine but its expensive and the AC wall converter is inconvenient.

Here I am now trying to decide between Milwaukee's 0240 3/8 Corded Drill and Dewalt's DWD115K 3/8 Corded Drill,

Both are rated 8 Amps, there is subtle difference in the RPM (Milwaukee--2,800 vs Dewalt 2,500).

Milwaukee's Gear Case is all metal whereas Dewalt's is plastic (maybe nylon?).

The trigger sensitivity on the Dewalt is a lot smooth; starts off really slow, whereas the Milwaukee's slowest speed is slightly higher than Dewalt's.

Dewalt has a leveler built-in and a belt clip; the mid-handle feels good in the hand.

Dewalt comes in a hard plastic case (should have no influence on deciding which drill to keep); 3 Year Warranty vs. Milwaukee's 5-Year Limited Warranty.

Both Drills feature Jacob's Chuck. However, I noticed the Dewalt having a characteristic wobble towards the lowest RPM.

I only need one of these drills, but was preferring the one with a solidly-built construction; seems like I'm stuck in a loop. The Dewalt is Made in Mexico whereas Milwaukee, as usual, Made in China.

Advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Nice! I may keep my eyes open for a refurb 2454. That seems like a nice tool. Smaller than a 2654 but more powerful than my 1/4 M12 (non fuel) driver
