The new M18 released last year, the upcoming M12 one, or something else? They announced 6 new lights for 2016/7. Apparently the Flood Lights are called "Rover" and the Stand Lights "Rocket".

I have the old & new flood lights. I prefer the old one because it is smaller, the new one has its uses, but the light difference in close quarters wasnt as noticeable as I expected. The new one is a nice light, especially with the AC option, but to me is more for a stand light not on a stand type kind of usage.

https://www.milwaukeetool.com/lighting?product+types=S

Anybody have the new flood light? Was wondering if there any good?

Okay, I am addicted to Milwaukee tools. I went out to HD and finally bought their m18 vacuum for $79.98 plus taxes. I just couldn't pass it up. I must admit, I held back the last time I walked into HD, then July 15 passed and I figured the sale was over. So no harm no foul ( I thought to myself) I will wait for the next sale or perhaps they will come out with a fuel model, hoping it will be more powerful.

Well went on the HD website it is showing $99 price, went to HD with my wife and spoke to a rep and he said it was back at it's original Canadian retail price of $167. So I told him to forget it. In the meantime my wife purchased material for her mother's property, so it was worthwhile from that point of view. But I was not convinced that I was mistaken so I verified once again the price on the closest HD to my house and the price quoted was $99 at this point I decided to pick it up at that price. Was I surprised when I was told that it was still at $79.98 a sale that was supposed to expire on July 15, so I caved in.

So now I have no more excuses for not cleaning my vehicle more often.

P.S. I don't know about you but I don't like when sales people or reps don't know what is going on.

I'm getting the cordless ratchet! So excited!

I picked one up last week, 3/8" version.

Cool tool but very limited due to access. It's pretty freaking bulky...kinda of hard to use in many location in the engine area. Let me know what you think once you get yours. Debating on returning mine.

I used my cordless ratchet the other day replacing a starter. I just kept an 8mm socket on it for the whole project and it made taking the tray and battery out and then putting it back in super simple. Both terminals, the hold down wedge and the four bolts for the tray were 8mm. I do wish I had gotten the 3/8" one though over the 1/4". I might get the replacement drive kit and swap mine to 3/8". Or... buy another one so I have both in case... <_<

I have the 1/4" cordless ratchet and find it to be very handy. It really speeds things up and cuts down the fatigue when dealing with lots of fasteners, and it has a surprising amount of torque for it's size. In fact, I have the 3/8" M12 impact and don't use it nearly as much.

They're cheap enough that you might as well just buy another so you have both. :lol_hitti

Yeah its a pretty nice light especially for the price. The beam shines very far and bright. They have a M18 search light coming out that is even more powerful.

It's actually awesome. I do think the trigger needs some work, would be too easy to click on in a bag or truck box & it toggles on/off, not momentary

Second the vote for both. I started with the 3/8, thought about getting the 1/4 too, finally did on the freebie deals that ran after xmas. Most of the time I use both, makes life a lot easier.

More than a few people have had an issue with this.. You can try contacting Milwuakee and they may fix it or send a replacement after you send the drill in,. I've seen a thread somewhere where the owner swapped in a professional chuck and it basically eliminated the issue..

Unfortunately it looks like the 2nd gen hammer drill (2704) doesnt have the same arbor size/threading as the 1st gen. Not sure if there are any good (or any at all) replacement chucks out there.

Probably about the best deal you can get on the Jobsite Backpack. $79 less 15%, 3 pack of pouches free, and free shipping. Comes out to $67.15

I'm curious about those. In my area I see lots of them for sale in HD, and the local suppliers seem to sell either those or the Klein or Veto pack or whatever the hell it is. But I have yet to actually see any on a jobsite.

I got it, but not for tools. It's perfect for packing everything that goes along with my PC for a LAN party. (mouse, keyboard, laptop, power strip, cords, chargers, etc.).

My old hedge trimmer is too small and just about worn out. I was thinking of getting another corded trimmer, then I see a Dewalt at home depot. It has lots of good reviews, as does the Toro one they sell too. Then I think, man wouldn't it be great if Milwaukee had a M18 Fuel version? And lo and behold, I see one is on the way! But I don't see anythng on their website in either "New" or "Coming Soon". Now I have to patiently wait and hope my current one will last. Anybody know anything? All I can find is a couple of videos on YouTube.

The cost of it will be up there. I'd buy a gas powered multi tool trimmer for like 200 bucks more.

After holding off buying a ryobi airstrike to see the Milwaukee offering, I concur.... It might be a great tool but it's going to be hella expensive, especially compared to the alternatives

I've got a bunch of extensions/flex sockets which helps negate the size of the M12 ratchets--makes it work for most things I see

Call me weird, but I enjoy using a quality ratchet much more so than the M12 ratchet. It just sits in my toolbox. The difference is likely that I work on cars as a hobby, for fun, not as a career and not for pay. Don't ask me to explain it, but the sound and feel of a standard ratchet is somehow therapeutic. If I need the speed or a little more power I reach for the M12 1/4" hex impact first with an adapter if necessary.

Don't get me wrong, I know the M12 ratchet is a good tool and faster than a standard ratchet, but the impact is even faster and more powerful. The trigger can be moderated pretty easily to regulate power. I don't see a need or place for the ratchet (even in a professional setting).

What are the benefits of the ratchet over the impact?

I saw the price of that gun and started to laugh. My 100 buck Hitachi 18g with a 80 dollar hot dog compressor has made me thousands doing trim jobs. No way am I going to drop 400 beans on a "hoseless" gun.

The airstrike looks good, but I don't want another battery system.

People still have LAN parties these days? I remember doing that back in 2001, but I would have thought that broadband internet would have made them obsolete years ago.

Not as often as I used to (we typically just play online), but 2-3 times a year college friends get together for a weekend of fun/gaming. It's out of tradition rather than necessity.

Hopefully that new m18 search light gets released in the next few weeks.. I'm itching to get that thing.. I got a chance to use the m18 tripod light and the dual powered floodlight the other night on a job outside, with a power outage in total darkness. Those things are ****** amazing. I can place the small floodlight on the ground across the street from whatever we are working on, and it lights the whole area up.

I picked up a ryobi lith ion set forever ago for a steal so I had the batteries. The airstrike works really well.... It's nice not even needing to lug out the compressor and hose. But of I didn't already have the batteries I wouldn't have bought it either

Still havent heard a firm release date on any of the lights besides the Radius and Mag which are out. The search light does seem pretty bad ***, its brighter than the old M18 Flood, brighter and has more distance than the M12 Spot, can stand up and its head pivots. It also has a hybrid spot/flood mode. All in the size of a rectangle tissue box. Its suppose to be Sept/Oct and price is unknown but I am predicting $150-200.

They just released the M12 3.0 & 6.0 batteries. For me the 3.0 is maybe only useful in the rotary, OMT, or stick light and the 6.0 in the circular saw or M12 flood if I ever get it.

Hopefully that new m18 search light gets released in the next few weeks..

Like the 9.0 battery, nailers, etc. If your going to have an annual product hype, at least have solid release dates to announce and if its possible to not happen before the next round then give some indication.

Ahhh. The most highly anticipated tool release of 2015, then 2016...

I dont think its that bad, I have used mine a bunch, your right it is loud. Think the max RPM is 32000. It may not have as much torque as my corded or air one, but still useful.

My first M12 will be the Milwaukee dremel thing. The backdoor deadbolt is sticking so I'm gonna try to file the strikeplate down. Plus this thing will be useful all over.

Ill sell ya mine because there absolute garbage. Loud as heck, under powered

Hi, my name is Evan and I'm an addict. I blame it all on this site and Home Depot. 2 months ago I had a standard M18 hammer drill, impact driver and sawzall and then things spiraled out of control.

I found the m12 drill and impact kit along with the m12 multi tool all for 99 bucks on the HD PCA. Initially I just bought the one set and all went smoothly so I then tried to clear out the store of the remaining 4 sets and was shut down by management who then offered me 50 off my next purchase instead.

I then found the m12 hackzall and drill combo kit for 65 on the PCA and in stock but couldn't find them but got the manager to markdown the hackzall kit to 70 since I already had the drill. There was also a free 4.0 battery promotion at the time so for 70 I got the hackzall kit and a 4.0 battery.

I finally used my 50 off from the first deal on the m18 vacuum which has completely blown away all my expectations. It's awesome and for 49.99 you can't beat it.

The M18 fan is the only tool I paid full price for.

I found the M18 LED work lights and 4.0 battery combos for 49.99 so I bought 5 hoping to sell a few and earn one or two for myself but at this point I don't need the extra batteries.

The only deal I found outside of HD and not pictured was on ebay for the 10pc insulated drivers for 30 shipped

My best deal was the brand new M18 fuel drill/driver compact battery kit I got for free after it pennied out.

My most recent deal was last night when I saw my store dropped the 2796-22 kits to 449.00 and you got a free 7 1/4" Fuel circular saw. I got the manager to knock off an additional 10% customer service discount dropping it to ~404 plus it was during the 11% rebate week.

I've got ~135 in rebate gift cards coming I plan on using on a fuel sawzall that hopefully I can get knocked down to 150 with the customer service discount at which time I'm hoping to quit cold turkey.

The battery and flashlight kits along with my original standard M18 stuff as well as the brand new fuel drill driver kit are for sale if anyone is interested.

I didn't want to unload the truck but here are the empty boxes and the items that are for sale.
