Its at the top of my wish list. Waiting for a deal under the $99 sticker, none of my HD stores carried it therefore didnt see it on clearance for $49. If anyone finds a deal on it please let me know.

I grabbed a m18 vacuum yesterday (tired of dragging a cord out to clean up the kids crumbs in the vehicles) and I'm impressed so far. It's a little loud but I expected that with a small unit.

I use my M12 vacuum all the time. I presume I'd use the M18 one a lot too. Maybe I'll find it on a deal some day. My local HD ***** though for deals.

Just going through my email, Zoro has a 30% code on cleaning stuff and supplies. It worked on the vacuum, after discount it was $77.78 and free ship!

CLEANGEAR is the promo code.

The M18 vacs pop up on eBay for $75-ish once in awhile. (New)

My local store stocks the vacuum and I wanted it right away so I just paid full price. I think it's still a good price at $99.

You have enough additional work to justify it ? I would have just rented one !

Im not sure about him but if I have enough work for 1 good job I'll try and buy the tool. Renting them can be a pain and this way if I ever come across a job again I have it.

The way I tell my wife is that if I can buy the tools & material and do the job cheaper then paying someone then I'm ahead plus own another tool.

Problem with Zoro is I still have to pay tax on it since Zoros in Illinois... Bumps the price back up some.

Just had a disappointing moment with my M12 bandsaw... Took it out to cut a little piece of shaft for the yarn swift and I pull the trigger and BAM. Blade isn't moving at all. I think "Did the blade snap? How could it I've barely even used it" Sure enough it snapped. When I undid the latches to open it up the blade engsmsploded out with a loud *sproing* and caught me on the finger. Just a deep scratch but still adding literal injury to insult. I obviously don't have the replacement blade kit so now I need to go grab that. I'm mostly annoyed that I wanted to use it right now and now I can't until I go get blades somewhere tomorrow. I guess next time it happens I'll have 2 extra since I think they come in a 3 pack but man lame. I think I've probably cut with it 4 times and I've had it just a few months.

WHERE IS THIS FRIGGIN M18 search light. I'm tired of waiting., I picked up a Dewalt 20v max sawzall today for one of the work trucks.. It seriously feels like a piece of junk next to the m18 versions I have. I'm sure it'll cut fine, but it would be nice to be able to pick it up and say "damn this is nice".. Milwaukee has spoiled me.

Yeah, they "boing" when you take them apart. How tight did you have the blade set? That plays a big roll in lifespan.

I have the XRP 36 volt dewalt and have used the XRP 18 volt dewalt. My fuel sawzall makes them look like toys.

Nope but when its a sunday and all the rental places are closed, the animals don't have water due to having to shut the well off and the boss gives you the go ahead it gets the job done.

My first Milwaukee tool. I really like how light and compact it is. Feels better in my hand than any snap on 3/8 impact I've used. The only thing that is annoying me is how loose the battery fits onto the tool. Is this normal? Most power tools I'm used to have no wiggle whatsoever in the battery-tool connection.

Best used deal ever, $100! Guy asked for only $80, I said if you drive the 15 miles to me I will give $100. Of course I just ordered the vacuum a few days ago...

Necessity outweighed waiting for another deal to show up and hope I'd find it..
Put it to work right away
First impression, eh, was trying to take some lugs off between a bench frame/butcher block top... Thought it was the low battery life (straight from the box) ..Then I realized it was on the lower/slower setting
Holy **** this thing is awesome
Just the beginning I'm sure...

Cheers

Dont think so, said he was out of work for a month, desperate for $. I didnt even negotiate, he said the low prices, originally it was at $50 for the Vacuum and battery plus the caulk gun w/ 2 batteries for $50. I couldnt live with myself if I only gave him $80 for all of it.

That's got to be a "hot" deal:sad:

M18 HD 9.0 ($199) & XC 6.0 ($149) and M12 Compact 3.0 ($59) and XC 6.0 ($89) are suppose to be on the market in September.

With those M12 prices, perhaps the 2.0 & 4.0 are going away since they are the same price.

PSA: TrueView Stand Light

Anyone with the TrueView Stand Light probably already knows that the clamps that lock the extension poles in position are, well... they ****. The screws that adjust the tension on the clamps need frequent adjustment (at best), or just plain fall out. That's if the clamp itself doesn't break.

Milwaukee has an "Upper and Lower Clamp Service Kit", part number 14-46-2130, that fixes all this (or at least seems like it should). This kit replaces ALL parts in both clamp assemblies. Both clamps have been re-designed to be two parts (instead of one) and are much "beefier", nuts that the screws thread into are now nylon lock nuts (this should avoid lost screws and/or frequent adjustment). You can easily install the kit yourself in about 20 minutes.

I found out about the kit because both of my clamps broke, and I called Milwaukee to ask about just getting the parts, since I didn't want to send/bring the light in for warranty repair, and they sent me the kit at no charge.

To install the kit you'll need:

- T15 screwdriver
- T20 screwdriver
- T30 screwdriver
- Phillips #2 screwdriver
- clamp spreader (optional)

For less than $1 you can replace the nylon lock nuts (4mm) without the kit, if your clamps aren't broken.

Here's a photo of a broken upper clamp and its replacement:

EXCELLENT tech, thank you!

I've mentioned here my first light had problems. I contacted Milwaukee via their website & simply never got a response (they've responded at least a dozen times to comments or queries sent this way previously). Then I thought I'd send it in for warranty but the light won't qualify for their free shipping via e-service.

So, I bought a second one and returned this one. On my second the clamps at least hold so I was satisfied but I agree they don't instill confidence.

My next tool will be the Fuel M18 circular saw.

Still waiting on the yard tools.

Same here. I really like that the blade is on the right side of the handle and its 7 1/4".

Recently picked up the gen2 Fuel M18 drill and impact driver set for $350 which came with two 5.0 bats, charger, and HD threw in a M18 sawzall too for free. $20 tax, free shipping made the online total $370. Funny thing was that the drill/driver set without the additional tool was still $350 and the compact brushless drill/driver M18 set with charger, 2.0 and 4.0 bats was $299. Figured this fuel set and free tool was a no brainer. Eh, my b day is in two weeks.
Sawzall is not in the fuel line or even brushless for that matter, but it's the tool I use least. I think I last used my corded Ryobi sawzall 6 months ago to take down a 100 yard long rusty rod iron fence.

Next on my Milwaukee list is that fuel circ saw, fuel grinder, a few more batteries and probably a 6 pack 18V charger. I'll be in full business.

The grinder and charger are both pretty great.. I have the 6.5" fuel saw and it's simply amazing...

I have the brushed drill/impact driver and sawzall, and the fuel versions of them all too... NONE of the brushed tools are disappointing..

Hey kctyphoon, could you post a picture of how your Milwaukee demolitions are holding up? I'm thinking of doing a video and figure yours are a lot more worn than mine. Mine are still holding on strong despite a lot of the little grippy dots/scales on the finger tips having worn off.

View media item 63048View media item 63049
I wanted to tell people that mine are holding up a lot better than the HF Hardy's I was using before and about the secret features they may not know about: capacitive touch knuckles and the cuddly soft snot/sweat rag thumbs.

The Milwaukee gloves are the best I've bought.. I think I washed them twice already after having them caked in mud.. I'll take pics at work tomorrow.. I've gotten the fingers caught in quick chucks from impacts at work, and even had the sides of the fingers get caught in strand grips at work where I needed to unwrap some of the dead ends to get my glove out.. Not sure they are in much worse condition then yours, but I've had the same pair for awhile now.

Just to note.. I use to buy the $35 industrial mechanics gloves. Those are the most expensive in their lineup. I've owned DOZENS of them, and EVERY pair splits at the fingers along the seems.. So much so, that I started walking into lowes with 3 pairs at a time, all ripped open at the same places - and they would even exchange them for free.. My argument was "I spent $100 on gloves so this WOULDNT happen every few weeks"

I have 3 4.0xc battery with M18 work lights I've been looking to unload. I'm open to trades too. Especially for a trueview flood light.I'd consider an M18 multitool and grinder as well. Who knows though I'm liable to consider anything, I am addicted after all :) Anyways I have 3 of these still new in box

Glove pics as promised.. I didn't realize the lighting wasn't so great. Took them in the garage and not outside like I probably should have. If you want a better one just ask, I'll redo them
