Milwaukee gloves now at HD !! And yes they are pretty nice - $14.99

Edit - had to wait to get home to post a pic

image.jpg

Found the post I made when I got them new.. February 11th.. So I'd say these have held up damn good..

I just made myself want more.. They were a steal in the store when they had the display and they were only $15.. The cardboard rack was empty in 2 weeks and they never brought them back in.. Online I think they are $29.

Yea I'll take a better picture tomorrow out in the daylight.. I didn't realize how dark it was inside the building. Regardless, I do not have one bad thing to say about these gloves.. I love em. There is still not one rip at the seems in any of the fingers, or anywhere else for that matter.

Just in case anyone is interested, here is the link for them at the HD website.

Love the gloves too! Mine still look new. Although I am just a weekend warrior, So they haven't seen much abuse.

Luckily I had found 3 pairs when HD had clearance them up for $3!

Just had a disappointing moment with my M12 bandsaw... Took it out to cut a little piece of shaft for the yarn swift and I pull the trigger and BAM. Blade isn't moving at all. I think "Did the blade snap? How could it I've barely even used it" Sure enough it snapped. When I undid the latches to open it up the blade engsmsploded out with a loud *sproing* and caught me on the finger. Just a deep scratch but still adding literal injury to insult. I obviously don't have the replacement blade kit so now I need to go grab that. I'm mostly annoyed that I wanted to use it right now and now I can't until I go get blades somewhere tomorrow. I guess next time it happens I'll have 2 extra since I think they come in a 3 pack but man lame. I think I've probably cut with it 4 times and I've had it just a few months.

Why not just weld the blade back together and anneal?

Does anyone know if Milwaukee will make a Fuel Grinder with the braking feature and a slide switch lock-on?
2783-20 is braking but has a paddle switch
2781-20 has the slide switch but no braking

I'm thinking a 2784-20 could have both.

My understanding is that Milwaukee feels the slide switch defeats the "safety" aspect of the braking.

The paddles on the Fuel grinders truly **** though, so glad I went all slides and gave away my one paddle.

I could see a safety wrench trying to make a point that the slide switch defeats the braking purpose. But it would still be nice if switch lovers could have the best of both worlds. So what if it'll lock on!? It has to be turned off at some point and at that point it would be nice if a brake would come into play stopping the disc.

BTW I dislike paddles too.

I have a "yellow" corded grinder that has a trigger type switch that you can use intermittently. It'll shut off when you release the trigger, OR you can pull the trigger and then bush a button to lock the trigger in the on position which is nice from time to time.

Does the Milwaukee slide switch work in a similar way? As in, do you have to slide the switch then push a locking pin for Lock-on mode? Or is it a true detent switch and it's either on and locked or off, no other option?

Have you used the regular Fuel grinders? They spin and "ratchet" down MUCH sooner then a corded grinder. I really see no advantage to the braking feature but to satisfy some written guideline that has no bearing on safety in reality.

One of my welder friends relies on spin-down to blend welds, repeatedly feathering the (well-designed paddle, ideally) switch. This would be impossible w the braking grinder --- but, truly, not practical w the standard Fuel grinders because of how quickly they spin down and how little inertia they seem to carry.

Anyway, the slide switches come on as soon as you slide up. Then lock on by rocking the switch down. You can not rock the switch to lock and still use it, but it's kinda awkward.

I have no problem with paddles but these new Fuel paddles are literally designed bass-ackwards. edit: also:http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5164284

I also have no problem with reverse paddles but the Fuel switch is 1) too short 2) poorly positioned within the length/balance of the tool and 3) much too sensitive

PSA: TrueView Stand Light

Anyone with the TrueView Stand Light probably already knows that the clamps that lock the extension poles in position are, well... they ****...

Fyi - I took a look at a display unit in Home Depot today and it had the new clamps. So it appears that the revised clamp design has made it into the distribution channel.

So RIP to my Milwaukee gloves.. Used them on an all night long job, and I believe I forgot them on the back of the bucket truck when we left.. So they may be laying on rt35 somewhere in the Middletown area of Jersey. I'm not happy about that, I was pretty attached to them.

That ***** after they served you so well and had life left. DK why HD stopped selling them in store, few places sell them online for you to add in your cart with the M18 light your waiting to be released.

They are the best gloves that I've used. Mine are worn daily since January, so almost 9 months now. Still no holes.

I'm hoping for some Labor Day sales, specifically on the ol' 2763-22 impact gun. I wouldn't mind grabbing the M12 3/8 ratchet either...

Yea, like most of the Milwaukee stuff I own, the gloves have completely exceeded my expectations. I even went back to where I was working to look for them cause I was so annoyed I lost them. I have no doubts they would have lasted me close to a year, which is saying alot compared to the many others I've used...

Is the jobsite radio any good? M12 2590-20. I'd like to mount it on my tractor so I can listen to the ball games on the radio while I'm working in the neighborhood of the tractor.

Audio is one of those things where you will hear so many mixed reviews. Personally I use the 2590 in my living room, and I thoroughly enjoy it. It's not a massive boombox, but it gets the job done handily, and I often just run it off a battery. I personally think it's under rated, but there are others who will tell you that its audio quality is complete garbage. They're not wrong, it's just a beauty in the eye of the beholder, as they say

Picked up a lightly used (excellent condition) 2710 on eBay for less than $50. It just charged a 5.0 M18 in my SuperDuty, so I'm happy.

I just want it to listen to ball games on AM, so it doesn't have to be crazy. Does it have decent volume? Like, how far out do you think you could hear it outside?

That charger came with the utility impact I have.. comes in handy but it doesn't seem to work unless it's plugged directly into the 12v socket. I can't have mine plugged into a splitter.

It wasnt loud enough for me when operating tools, especially shop vac, or when it was in the garage and I was outside. I just sold mine as I have been using the big M18 Jobsite Radio Charger w/ Bluetooth for almost a year, which is VERY loud.

Anyone that wants to splurge on the M12 Mag Light, Zoro has it listed for $102 which is surprising since everyone else sells it for $99. With the current 25% off deal its the cheapest you can get on it, if your order is $150+

Yup, I picked up a 2897-22 kit and free 5.0 to flip for $296 total.

But sooooooo tempted to get the Fuel 3/8 Impact One Key kit and sell my plain old Fuel 3/8.....
Hmmm. Couple that with the free M18 5.0 battery and that's a pretty good deal.

Snapped a quick pic at work. Mind you I didnt have the first milwaukee tool 3 months ago. For a little less than $900 invested I have a pretty complete cordless mechanics set. The 3/8 fuel was my latest addition after my 20v mac (dewalt) was turned in for warranty work after less than a year of use.

I couldn't say no the the 2763-22 kit. 15% off and a free 5.0 battery...that's a good deal if I do say so myself.

Now I just need to find a deal on the M12 3/8" ratchet.

Home Depot has the Fuel 3/8" Drive Impact Wrench #2754-22-48-11-1850 on sale for $329.00...

This set has THREE 5.0Ahr batteries in it...

Does anyone know of this set being available any where else...

Or cheaper...

(HD uses their "Special Purchase", again...)
