I just got these today. Bought them for the batteries, really, as I already have one of these lights, and will likely sell the lights.

Can I ask what you paid for em? Hd had them in stores last year or the year before as a holiday promo.. they went down to $49 on clearance when I bought the 2 or 3 I picked up..

I know some people would gladly take em off ur hands for a few $.. I use the 2.0's for my jacket.. the 3.0 is still a little too expensive for me to justify..

I really like the M12 fuel 3/8" impacts but at best it just would be between the m12 impact driver and M18 3/8 you already have.. but if you wanna buy something...

Milwaukee just came out with a 1/2" mid torque impact with 450ftlbs. Smaller and lighter then the high torque model. Some guys really like the right angle impact / impact driver too

Their smaller model temp gun can be found for like $35

And I don't see a drill in there, or a sawzall. Milwaukee should make a boot for that m12 stick light.. it's almost dumb that they don't.. for the m12 impacts too..

And just a FYI - makita (dare I say the word) makes some nice 1/4" hex to 3/8" &1/2" square drive wobble adapters. They are cheap..

So there was thread I read a couple days ago about someone experiencing what was perceived as poor performance with lug nut removal using a Milwaukee 2654 impact wrench. Since yesterday I have watched a series of you tube videos most particular these "Tool Boss" video tool reviews anybody else seen them?

I really don't know why he really decided on doing lugs with 1/4" hex tools., but mainly it was the tool price point of $99 at the time (Early 2016) but he used a series of different manufacturer's more recent 18v li-on impact DRIVERS to see if he could remove lugnuts at different values using only compact batteries and torqued up to around 125 ft lbs max. It was interesting and basically 2 brands did it and two did not and then reran some more attempts using larger 4.0ah battery which increased the success rate of one certain manufactures tool in particular and rated highest torque value.

Anyway long story short here performance with two different Milwaukee 18V 1/4" hex impact drivers was impressive for what they are, the 2656 brushed easily removed the lugs even with a compact battery and the Fuel with XC didn't even breathe hard.

I use the 1/4" hex impact in conjunction with the 1/4"' 3/8", and sometimes the 1/2" socket adapters and it's great for disassembly/reassembly.

Ya I second a drill/driver. Maybe M12 Fuel or even the M12 Fuel 1/4 hex screw driver. Has the same body as the drill but overall shorter without the standard ratchet chuck. With the adjustable clutch its very good for when you may not want impacting at all on smaller fasteners.

I wish Milwaukee made a m12 underhood light, that would be really useful for me.

When I sold my light, they were going for about $35 shipped on eBay. With a flat rate shipping box it just became worth it to keep one in the car with a battery and another at work.. maybe you'll have better luck, or find your own box to ship it at least..

I inquired about one at HD a couple years ago and the salesman told me that they pulled them because they were spring assist and were illegal in NY. I don't know if its true or not but I never saw one other than a picture. Just wondering if they are a decent all around pocket knife and not to big or bulky in the pocket. Do you guys ever see them in your stores ?

I have a !/4" drive Fuel impact wrench that I use on an almost daily basis. Tons of power and the size makes it perfect for many jobs. FYI, I do use impact sockets to protect the anvil from wear

I have a few, they are very nice for the money.. I have the utility knives - fastback and fastback2, the straight edge and hawk bill knives. Both are not spring assisted.(I never bought that model cause it was $39 I think) If you drive into jersey, they are in every hd. The fastback utility knives are hands down the best on the market.

The better models are the Milwaukee hardline knives.. newer line, black handles, not very cheap.. $60, $80, maybe more depending

NP - if I made it a little confusing, the hardline models are NOT in hd. They'd have to be ordered online. And when I said "best on the market", I was referring to the actual "fastback UTILITY knife", the flip open box cutter style with replaceable blades. For those I have the original fastback, and fastback2 model. They have a fastback3 and a fastback mini version of them also now..

The standard red handled models of fastback "KNIVES" are good "for the money". It's these regular pocket knife models that I have the straight edge, and hawk bill version of. they are light, thin, and sit deep in your pocket with the clip if that's how you carry it. Folded, the are about the same length of a Leatherman wave, but much thinner. The blade on them will need upkeep though. It's not made with some kinda super secret steel or anything. When I feel like mine is getting dull I just give it a few passes on a cheap Gerber or GMP sharpener and it's fine again, but I don't use them for anything very destructive, just cutting rope, boxes, anything "normal" that comes up. I don't think they would hold up against hammer strikes like my Klein or Jonard lineman knives do at work, I wouldn't even try.

The hardline knives are their rough duty line, designed for more serious use, made from better steel - thus 3 & 4x the cost of the others.. there was a deal somewhere, where you could get one of the hardline knives, and that m12 maglite style flashlight for like $100. Not sure where it was , but I'm sure somebody in here does...

Depends - if you want it as a travel kit thing, charge the phone on the go, pocket or glovebox type deal, then m12 (some don't have a USB output now, so make sure you know which one you are buying) Milwaukee made a cheaper one to include in the "bare tool" models of the heated jackets, and I THINK the full kit comes with the USB port on it still. Anyway - if the power adapter has the battery fuel gauge, it has the USB port as well. If there is no fuel gauge, and no USB port, then it just has the round adapter to plug the jackets in..

If it's a keep in the house, use my m18 battery to charge my phone, tablet, whatever, in case of a black out or power outage - then obviously the m18 is a better choice..

If you JUST want the USB port, you can get an aftermarket m18 power source for like $8 off Amazon.. the standard Milwaukee has the adapter plug for the heated gear though as well..

That's funny....you read my mind. After reading your first response I thought "I wonder if he has an idea how many phone charging cycles I would get out of it."

I think I might try the M12 one to start just for how compact it is. My M12 batteries are 1.5ah but I've never really drained one all the way because the only tools I have for that platform are the ratchet and jigsaw which when I do use them it's for a short time. I bought a heated hoodie at one point but returned it due to fitment. Plus we don't need heated gear much out here in the desert SW. I might get an M18 someday for power outage like you said. I'll bet an M18 5.0 would charge phones for several days.

Aww man. Just bought the 2755b not too long ago. Looks like I'll be returning it and getting the 2861 instead. I did kind of feel like the 2755b was kinda underpowered and too close to the m12 3/8 impact.

A compact 3.0 is the same as the original XC's. If your XC does not have any numbers (ie 4.0 or 6.0) on the side it's a 3.0.

The compact batteries very much have their place due to form factor. I hope you didn't really throw them away but gave them to somebody, donated to Habitat or dropped them in the old power tool battery bin at HD.

Uh, this is the addiction thread. You're supposed to keep both! Make the 2755B your trunk model and keep your most needed lugnut socket on it or a flip socket.

I wonder if it will be better to wait until after its out to see what kind of deals there will be?
Or, since its new, they won't bother with any promos for a while.

Haha. That is true, and I was very tempted to keep it, since I got it at a good price($120), but think I'm going to return it. Mostly because I tried it out and it really does feel underpowered.
