Mind if I do a quick little poll? I'm curious who's got a ton of batteries? Personally I have a total of 52AH in 9 batteries. I think I'm at the point where I wouldn't benefit from having any more. Being used or not, they have a finite shelf life.

When you get around to it, call their tech support not cust service, CS will just fwd you to tech. Make sure you have the serial number handy and give them the model 2361 number. Think someone mentioned they paid $5 for it, mine is being sent for free.

Their main headquarters in Brookfield, WI is 10 minutes down the road from me. I've never been there, but I just planned on bringing the light with me so there is no confusion. It's an office/service center and I've heard they sell tools retail there as well.

The funny part is I drive past there multiple times a week to get dinner, but they are closed at that point in the day. Their new massive addition is coming along well.

In M18 I have 2 of 4.0, and 3 tools (Vac, light and big boy impact)
In M12 I have 3 of 2.0 and 2 of 4.0 and 6 tools (⅜ ratchet, stick light, drill, ¼ hex impact, ⅜ impact, right angle drill).

And I agree, excluding lights you can't use more than one at a time, and in my cordless tool history, the only thing that has ever failed are battery packs. (Although no lithiums from Milwaukee have let me down.)

Does anyone know if the 2897 & M12 bare tool price drops are in store or just HD.com? Also if the M12 Rover light dropped in store does it work with the 150 promo, because online it does not?

My 14 volt is still going strong after 12 years, as long as I can get batteries its running. ....
],

As is mine. You can take dead battery packs to Interstate Battery and get them rebuilt for about $40.

May be time to upgrade.. :). I think I have an almost brand new dewalt 18v xrp hammer drill sitting in a drawer (got my old one replaced for free) and still have 6 old batteries for it that haven't been touched in years. I got so tired of keeping up with the pile of batteries that needed to be rebuilt, would be fully discharged by the time I'd pick em up again. The tools themselves worked fine, but enough was enough and I felt like I just kept dumping money into an old car.

The newer tools and batteries are just worth the money sometimes. After I upgraded I couldn't believe the difference with the lithium and brushless stuff. The corded stuff will be around forever though..

Is this what you guys want??? this is on the Milwaukee site with the parts listing. read the red window.. 31-01-1586 is the replacement part number for the hang bar, (REPLACES 31-01-1585) so you can use the 9.0 battery.. It's $2.10 at the site linked below. With shipping it was $10 from this place for me. not many results show up with the part available .. we're you having trouble finding that? Took me 2 minutes on google :).

Thanks

I knew somebody could do it :lol_hitti

Wow $10 shipping for a $2.00 part :wtf:

Edit: I also sent an inquiry to ACME Tools to see if they can offer that part and to inquire about the 27xx compact impact boot too

My 2755B just pulled the rear caliper mount bracket bolts on a '12 Ram 1500. I dunno, seems respectable to me for a little impact. Bolts were factory, first time removed.

So I had some interesting observations this afternoon using my digital tach on the $99 2754-20 bare tool 3/8" compact impact I received from Toolup back before Christmas and also with my 2454 M12 3/8" impact wrench (I think I sourced that through ACME as -22 kit early last year)

A while back I electronically read the rpm speed on the 2763 and my 2655B impact wrenches and some other tools like the 2653 hex impact driver and Gen 1 M18 Fuel drill even the M12 Fuel drill and Fuel hex screwdriver and maybe the RA drill and impact if I remember right. Anyhow everything all easily measured up to the min stated RPM speed listed on the tag/owners manual etc. and that seemed to show that by using higher AH battery than was available at the time the tool came out it generally boosted peak RPM above the stated rpm mark. This all come about because of thread comment where someone felt a 4.0 increased the power on the 3/8 M12 ratchet. Actually it did get up way over the rated rpm playing around with that measuring peak rpm with 3 different ah batteries.

Anyhow no matter what battery I tried all fully charged 1.5, 4.0, and I have a new 5.0 and a 9.0 in M18, and for the M12 I even opened and charged a new 4.0 to try against a 3.0 XC and my 2.0 and 1.5 compacts...

Neither tool with any of the batteries could match or exceed the minimum rpm number listed on the tool tag. You know at first I questioned if the tach was reading faulty in some way (weak batteries whatever) but I reran the rpm checks on the first 3 of my old impacts 2763/2655 and 2653 and there was max rated rpm matches and noticeable speed increases with the bigger ah batteries.

This is weird I wonder if the other two tools need to break in more :headscrat

I cant really believe they're faulty in anyway and I got close to stated RPM but still at least 500 under.

Neither one of the 3/8" wrenches has really had any serious workout not like the 1/2 inch wrenches. Both of those are loose as a goose. :D

I just added the M12 compact band saw to my arsenal.

We've been using an 18v Hilti recip saw to cut 3/8" threaded rod, conduit, kindorf, and other small stuff. It works great, but dragging it to the job site is a PITA...plus we're not using anything else that takes those batteries.

Have any of you been in store yet today to see if the 150/200 promo is still active? It was yesterday but I was going to grab one more set today. It's not working online, but I seem to remember reading that 1/30 was the last day.

Not sire about the promo. Ive seen 3 different dates referenced. The original endcap cardboard signage said Jan 31, the post-it notes stuck onto the OneKey kit said Jan 30, and the website said Jan 29.

Ordered something with the promo last night, not sure I need/want anything else but I might hit a store today just to check on it.

I stopped by Milwaukee's headquarters in Brookfield today to order the updated hang bar for the M18 Floodlight so I can use the 9.0 battery. They do have an impressive showroom and nearly every tool/accessory available to purchase (didn't see boots for the impacts, but there was a lot of stuff to look at...).

When I inquired about ordering the part I was told they are transitioning to a new computer system and my best course of action would be to call to order as their center has been placed at the bottom of the priority list when it comes to fulfilling parts orders. He mentioned that they still have not seen parts that were ordered at the beginning of the month.

The number he gave me to call was 1-800-729-3878. I called when I got home. The overall call was 50 minutes. 40-45 of that was on hold waiting to talk to someone. The updated hang bar part number is 31-01-1586 and the cost is $2.10. Due to the transition the person was unable to tell me the cost of shipping or when it would ship. I figured regardless of where I ordered it from I would be paying shipping. I'm also not in any rush to get it, but I don't think ordering from another source that would then need to order it from Milwaukee would get it here any sooner.

Good luck to anyone else that tries to order this.

Interesting, Home Depot says today is the first day of their new year & my store said it took 2 hours to get their computers going. Milwaukee moving to a new system. Probably just coincidence.

Some businesses operate on a fiscal year, rather than calendar year. This means their year end could be at any point in the year (but it would be a consistent date from year to year).

From the conversation I had with the guy at the Milwaukee headquarters it sounds like the transition has been taking place over the last number of weeks and is likely related to the new expansion at their headquarters currently underway.

Did ya see my post #7094, 1 page back? You can order it online.. I found all the info you were looking for yesterday.. for me it was about $10 shipped, part was $2.10 (I didn't order it myself, just went through the process to get the shipping quote)

Edit: and I just got an email response from Milwaukee saying that they currently have no plans for a high torque 3/8" model impact like the new 1/2" mid torque model... very disappointed about that...

Only thing I was considering was the radio as long as in-store matched the web price. Not a big deal that I didnt get it, though.

I just picked up combo kit # 2897-22 for $349 down from $399 ends today and for my $150 for bare tool. There was one#2763-22 impact wrench on clearance for $180 at a HD twenty miles away that I had put on hold and they let me get that one with deal. So for $ 379.00 plus tax I think I got a hell of a deal.

That's disappointing :(

I was using my M18 1/4" Hex impact this weekend to remove 4) M8x1.25 bolts and it only (barely) removed one of them. I had to break the other 3 loose with my 3/8" ratchet and then use the impact to remove them the rest of the way.

A nice 400 ft-lbf rated 3/8" impact would sell well I'd think.

Maybe I could get a 1/2" drive mid-torque model and machining the square drive down to 3/8" - Probably end up removing the case hardening and twist it off though.

I saw your post. I already had the parts list, part number, and price prior to seeing your post. The Milwaukee headquarters was on my way home from an appointment this morning. It didn't hurt to stop by. That website likely doesn't stock the part, but orders it from Milwaukee when an order for it is placed. Why not get it straight from the source?

PS. My card was charged $2.10 today. They may not even go back to add the shipping charge.

I noticed several members in here like the Fuel M12. Is there a reason to opt for those over the 18 volt variety? Is it more of a budget thing, compact thing, or something else?

I'm considering the non-fuel M18 compact combo set. Is it a good value? The only extra tool I'd plan to add is the impact wrench.
