Around the time that the 9.0 battery was released Milwaukee updated the flood light with a different hang bar that would allow the 9.0 battery to fit. The model number of the light stayed the same.

Based on the response that you got it sounds like Milwaukee is willing to cover the replacement hang bar. I didn't mind paying $2.10 for mine.

They will replace it for free. I've asked them about it before. Just fill out the appropriate contact form on their website.

Man, the addiction is real. At least I get all of my Milwaukee stuff with a discount, or that's my excuse anyway. Haha. $130 for the radio and $50 for the battery. Radio sounds great in a enclosed space, like a house or a shed, gets a little muffled outside, but I'll imagine that'll be almost any radio. Over all I'm pretty pleased with it, don't think it's worth the full retail price, but the price I got it at, it's perfect. 7b7b51758bf568e418e0b79369e97277.jpg

Now that's a positive outlook! :D

I just forwarded the requested pictures so I'll see what response I get thru my ACME C.S. correspondence.

Could anyone explain how the 2710-20 battery charger works?
How does it charge an 18 volt battery from a 12 volt source?

Thanks,
Mike

Likely a switch mode power supply (similar to a power transformer) within the unit. Watts in, watts out. It takes ~5A of 12v and spits out ~3A of 18V (assuming there's some efficiency losses due to heat, etc.).

What's the screw size needed?

It's 1/4-20. Standard camera fare they say (I know nothing of photography but I'm a machinist so threads are what I do).

Personally I found 1/2" to be too short. I got a flat head (head style, not drive type) and sanded down to 5/8" OAL. I reco some loctite or it'll spin on the magnet 'cause the magnet is so strong and the light acts as a lever.

Got an opened but unused boot today via CL for $25. The 2763/4 boot, not the unicorn 2nd gen boot.

Already had one on my 2763 but needed one for my 2764

I just got a 2763. Thinking of getting a boot for it. Are they worth it? I see them for $34.

It's entirely up to you. They're not cheap but they fit perfectly. Really depends on if you plan to drag your wrench across the floor a lot or are concerned with dropping it on concrete.

Right now I've got 4 boots between 5 impacts (waiting on the 5th to reappear in stock somewhere) and if you figure average cost of $30 that's $120 in tool condoms at the moment. Kinda dumb.

I'm guessing its all how in much you want to keep them looking new. My 2763 has a big scratch on the nose cone and the 2655B has small chunk of the protective rubber over mold rubber gouged out at the back of the motor housing.

Would I have liked not have the battle scars sure  still cant say if its worth the list price though.

Still they don't look any where close to the SnapOn unit over at the automotive garage where the business vehicles are maintained...you can barely tell that was once red :p

My 2763 did take a tumble from the workbench to the concrete floor once too, kind of top heavy they are. Didn't really damage the tool any but the battery got scratched up some.

Boot couldn't have helped that.

Just noticing one side of the nose cone on my 2454 has got some scratches too. :dunno:

I like to keep my tools looking as nice as possible too. At the end of the day though, they're tools.

Anyone have any experience with the 2712-20 M18 FUEL 18V Cordless Lithium-Ion 1 in. SDS Plus Rotary Hammer? I just picked one up new on EBAY for $199. Seemed like a pretty good deal.

That is a good deal, I got the 2712-22HD kit which came with 2 9.0s for $450.

I went back & forth on trying to decide between the 2712 1", 2715 1 1/8", and he 2713 1" D-handle. Wanted the D-handle but couldnt pass up the deal I got on the 2712, decided the extra $ for what I need wasnt worth the 2715. The 2712 has hammer only mode which is a requirement for my SDS.

I've been doing the same. I thought the D-handle was a good choice having the best capacity/cost ratio, until I looked at the actual power spec, and it's well below the others. I'll likely end up with the 2712 or 2715, whichever I see a great deal on first. Also have my eye out for a deal on the Hole Hawg.

The D-handle is the favored config except it does not have the vibration dampening as the 2712 or 2715.

It's on sell right now at home depot, plus I got an extra discount when you bought the one key kit. Lots of people here did that kit discount trick. Pretty much how I got all my stuff. Bad thing is kit discount ended January 30th.

I got that same boot from nph power tools for 28 shipped. On a side note does anyone have a lead on parts? I need a collet and and a new wrench for my m12 rotary, calling Milwaukee is useless I've left voice mails call back numbers and stayed on hold for longer than I should have to.

When? They were available ~2 months ago, but since seem to have dried up. I've had an order pending w NPH since 1/1/17

Well, functionally, and they work on DC, most importantly. Boost switchers use a capacitor and a inductor, alternately shorting the inductor across the input and then connecting it to the capacitor. It's the same principle as the spark coil in a car, but instead if the high voltage going to a spark plug it gets smoothed out by the capacitor, and it switches 1,000s of times per second.

Ok. Haha you don't have to tell me, I was just trying to put it in layman's terms for the one asked the question!

See my earlier post here:
Last weekend I helped demo the whole first floor in my sister's new (to her) house.

I drained 2 fully charged 9.0s to 1 bar between my 1" Fuel rotary hammer and Fuel Sawzall. The RH totally de-tile'd an entire wall in a bathroom and the Sawzall was all over the place really (cutting old nail infested studs/counter tops/pipes/etc.) since it's so handy for all things demo. The RH had a brand new scraper bit and the Sawzall had a brand new Milwaukee 9" carbide blade. Both tools were complimented with the M18 fan and the M18 HP flood light.

All I can say is wow...these tools are no joke. I've used them before (obviously...they're mine!) but I was abusing them here. Performed absolutely flawlessly.

To those who question whether or not a 9.0 is worth it for the power hungry tools...it absolutely is IMO. The power and run time REALLY shine when you need it and want it. Very very noticeable. I wouldn't trade them for more 5.0s that's for sure...

The 2712 with the 9.0 is awesome. It works well with the regular XC packs too, but it gets pretty thirsty with heavier duty tasks (aka chipping, drilling holes bigger than "Tapcon" size, etc.).

Don't get me wrong, the 2712 is great, but it specs out lower (1.7 lb/ft) than the D-handle (2.1 lb/ft). I think the 2712 shines in size footprint - I really like its design better than the long D-handle, but that's purely preference.

The D-handle is the favored config except it does not have the vibration dampening as the 2712 or 2715.

I think the vibration dampening (at least on the 2712) is kinda gimmicky hah. You can definitely still feel a lot of vibrations.

How are people having trouble getting the 49-12-0012 boot? Just call Milwaukee up and order it over the phone. You'll have it in about a week. Remarkably simple!

I've got a 1/4" hex driver that keeps the light on after use. If I play with the trigger I can get it to shut off. Anyone else ever experience this? Is it an easy fix or should I just warranty it?

Spray some electrical cleaner in there first. It can't hurt.

I had a Nextec drill where the brake stopped working and upon suggestion of this forum I sprayed QD cleaner in the trigger and it's been fine ever since.

Ran into Milwaukee rep at HD today. I was looking for the boot for my 2763. None in store so he ordered one for me.

I ordered mine over a year ago, so I really don't remember (sorry). I think it was $35 shipped? Something like that. An expensive boot, but I wasn't in the mood to wait around any longer for an easy retail option. Looks like I made the right decision.

Just calling Milwaukee and ordering anything seems damn near impossible

Ive have good and bad experiences with hold times. Try to call them any time but lunch and end of day.

Regardless, 15 minute call, get boot...no call, no boot.

First post. I wanted to say thanks to the participants in this thread. I visited last week trying to see if Milwaukee might be releasing a M12 Fuel jig saw anytime soon. No luck there, but I did find out about the deal on the M18 Fuel 7-1/4 saw with high demand 9.0Ah battery and rapid charger for $249. I went to Home Depot and bought one Monday. I had been eyeing this saw for a while (at a substantially higher price) and never would have known about the deal without visiting this site. Thanks.
