Been wanting an angle drill for quite a while, couple of weekends ago travelled east about 45 miles to an auction, dropped out at $150 on relatively new model. Went to a pawn shop yesterday, picked up the one below.. half of that... Good shape, doesn't have a case nor the side handle but working to get those too (making the adapter handle). Was originally a 1107-1 straight drill with a 48-06-2871 right angle drive unit...

Dennis - When I built my shop and was wiring it, I could have really used that. I no sooner finished and found one listed at a pawn shop. I dug up some old tools and went over and made a deal with the guy. The thing was brand new. It sat under the workbench for several years without being used. I sold it on CL last year. I'll see what I have in drill bits and bring them to Indy in May when we meet up.

I'll certainly use it at my dad's house.. still need to run some wires to the basement outlets, etc. and his floor joists are hard as nails....

What circular do you guys recommend for home use? I have a nice compound sliding makita Mitre saw and a corded 7" porter cable circular saw. This would mainly be for portable use (2x4's, cutting plywood). Is the M18 7 1/4" necessary or would a M12 5 3/8"?

What are you planning to use it for? Occasional dimensional lumber for a few cuts or doing a lot of framing? I've got the M12 and it's great to just grab, zip a board and set down. Will do just fine on 2x lumber. You do have to go at the correct speed and push it straight or it will bind and the anti kickback detection will "kick in" and stop the saw. You just cycle the trigger and it starts again. It will trigger though if you just try to jam it through the wood too hard/fast.

If you're doing a lot of framing or planning to be making 20+ cuts every time you pick it up go for the bigger M18 saw. I've got a corded 15A circular saw for if I need the grunt. The M12 is very convenient though.

That is exactly what I'm after just a few cuts, if I need a lot of cuts I'd use my mitre saw. I had a small ryobi 18v that I used quite a bit. I was always pleased with the power, but I could tell a big difference in blade speed from my corded porter cable.

I'm really impressed with the M12 2530. I thought it would be an underpowered pig but it's zippy, lightweight and handy. That said, it's not a HUGE powerhouse and if your work starts to bind it'll struggle. You really want to use it with at least an XC 3.0 and preferably a 4.0 or 6.0.

I highly recommend provided you understand it's not a corded 7.25"

edit: and I'm a metal guy so if a self-proclaimed woodworker disagrees they're right and I'm wrong.

It looks like the M12 is a left side blade and the M18 7 1/4" is a right side blade?

For cross cutting 2x4's or breaking down plywood following a chalk line I prefer a left side blade.

For cutting plywood against a guide I prefer a right side blade.

If I had to choose between the two I'd prefer to use a left side blade against a guide than use a right side blade for cutting a bunch of 2x4's to length.

The M18 6 1/2" with left side blade is another consideration if you think you'd prefer a left sided blade.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of these or any cordless circular saw for that matter. But I'm starting the process of deciding which CS I'll get when I move onto my next cordless system.

I say get the 2730 and I prefer it over the 2731 a better line of sight and the shoe adjuster isn't in the way if you use a fence or speed square. The M12 is nice but it really is only a trim saw.

He just posted a day or so ago that their family had a death or serious illness and that they would be slow for the next little while. That might be why you and probably others are not approved yet.

Why compact? Here drilling out an '05 Freestyle drain the 2604 would not allow me to drill square.

I was wondering, what your guys thoughts were on the toolboxes. I am bout to purchase some tools from them and wanted to know if I should go with there toolboxes, or just go with harbor freight ones. Pictures would help to.

Personal choice.. the hf boxes are expandable​.. I did the 44" top & bottom, and a locker.. but theres no bad choice really.

Just picked up the 2763-21XC 1/2" High Torque Brushless Impact...super excited to be able to pop axle bolts off without air!

Also picked up the 6538-21 15amp Super Sawzall. Older model but has great reviews and power. Needed a sawzall to take down a kneewall in my kitchen, and HD had one in stock!

Love the stuff!

Just received my M18 Fuel String Trimmer and free Hedge trimmer from the Facebook deal that was posted earlier. $305 shipped. Home Depot is selling the String Trimmer for $299 and the Hedge trimmer for $169, so I saved over $190 when you factor in sales tax.

Can't wait to get home from work and try them out.

With all these under hood lights I'm seriously tempted to go nuts and buy a bunch and do a big full comparison video like I did with the Milwaukee Work Light vs competitors. I'd feel kinda bad buying a bunch of lights and returning them but it's so much money and what do I do with 5 underhood lights after I buy them?
