Has anyone used this M12 based TIG tungsten sharpening tool?

The tool with battery/charger/case/accessories is $100, so this thing is really expensive at $325-$375 and I'm wondering if it's worth it.

A good friend of mine has one. I've used it. Not gonna lie, it's pretty sick. The price is kinda steep, but it works really, really well and the fact that it's cordless is even better. It's one of those things that you never thought you'd appreciate being cordless. I'm definitely getting one when I get my TIG rig finalized and ordered.

Steep price? Yes. Worth it? Yes, if you value convenience/quickness/precision.

Has anyone been able to get the boot for the new mid torque impact?

I contacted the guy Nick on Facebook (guy I got the string trimmer/hedge trimmer from) and asked for a price. He said $180 for the mid torque, $30 for the boot and he said he had both in stock. When I got the tracking info from him it was coming out of WI (trimmers came from his location in NJ) so I knew he had them dropped shipped from Milwaukee. When I got the order in yesterday the mid torque impact gun was correct but the boot was for a high torque. I contacted him and he said his wife sent the wrong boot and I really needed one for a 3/8...... that's not right!

I called Milwaukee and got the correct part # 49-16-2861 and they said they won't have any until the end of the month.

Why do people say they have stuff "in stock" when they don't? I'm so pissed, I only ordered it now because he said he had both in stock. So now I have to screw around with shipping the wrong one back and hoping I get the correct one some day.

I do most of my welding in my friends shop and it's a solid 100ft from the welder to the grinder - which is quite an incentive to keep your tungsten clean . It's a common bench grinder so too coarse and usually a bit contaminated with whatever someone else ground so I'm looking into this mainly for the convenience and the ability to have a nice smooth grind on the tungsten.

I've used a diamond wheel on my M18 fuel angle grinder and it's ok, but really hard to get a nice grind when you're holding the grinder in one hand and the tungsten in the other.

I'll spend the money on a high quality tool but then also have high expectations for it's performance.

Anyone in the Milwaukee area that has one I could try out maybe?

You will not be disappointed in how it performs. It's fast, accurate, repeatable, and dummy proof. The tungsten comes out perfect.

On a second point. I have the Fuel Sawzall and 1' SDS max rotary drill and they both died on me this week. Took them to the factory authorized repair center. The guy there said bad electronics in the both. The Sawzall if you pulled the trigger the led light on the front would flash 3 times fast and do nothing else. The SDS would do nothing when you pulled the trigger. If you reset the battery it would run for 5 seconds approximately. Anyone else have similar experiences.

I got my hedge trimmer last night. I only wanted it to try it on oak brush that can get out of hand here because the root system can be so extensive. Of course I don't expect it to do huge oak brush, just small stands that start up in unwanted places.

Anyway, I'm fairly impressed, it seems to work well for what I want. On bigger stuff near max capacity it will take several seconds to work its way through. I actually measured it cutting as large as .820" diameter, so the stated 3/4" capacity is legit and then some.

I prefer this over trying to operate a chainsaw a half-inch above the ground (and rocks).

It goes on the back, right hand side. You should see what looks like a rubber grommet that it goes in.

FYI - Not sure how much longer the M18 Miter will be available with the free 9.0 at $599, in the future it should be $699. A local HD now has the bare tool version setup in the Miter section, with a boxed one with no batteries there. Still surprised the Miter w/ free 9.0 and the sawzall/circular saw special kits with 9.0 are still available, thought they would of been gone months ago.

I was just about to post on this Kyle, as much as I want one I don't think I could pull the trigger at that price point.

Milwaukee have been the leader in li-ion battery since 2007 and now lights. Those two combination speaks loudly about the reliability and quality of the light. The biggest challenge for any cordless tool makers is the battery - ask DeWalt and Makita, they know all about it. So wouldn't even try to compare the HF light to this.

@$200, I think it leaves a lot of room for competitors to step in. When we see DeWalt, I think they will drop the price significantly.

In terms of output of 600lumens w/ 2.0Ah battery, it will last only 4hrs. That's damn good. I have the M12 light stick w/ 220lumens and I use it as underhood light.

Now I'm glad I bought the Neiko.. for $200 they can keep it..

I'm sure it's an introductory price, that will like come down to $149 after a few months just like the rocket lights and radius light did.. that's a pretty select market for something like that, so sales will determine the final price point I'm sure..

Although, when the m12/m18 stick lights were almost half that price, we all bought em anyway. If nothing else it'll likely wind up in a promo kit with a free ratchet..

I'm very happy with my Neiko at less than half the price..

Leave it to Milwaukee to over price a tool. Have to admit the run time is pretty impressive on that stick light though. Even the ATD 80357 is only 3 hrs at 1000 lumen. That's going for $134 right now.

I don't really see what putting an image on a tool has to do with their quality and usefulness. If you're using a tools more often than not you should be wearing safety glasses. Additionally PPE is not a milwaukee strength and i would rather just buy a great set from somebody who has that strength.

The only Dewalt thing I own is a pair of safety sunglasses. My girlfriend wears them doing yard work. I wear prescription glasses so safety glasses won't help me. I have to wear stupid safety goggle style ones that go over my glasses.

So just trying to keep with all the new stuff now I see there is new 52" workstation.
(I don't remember it being mentioned or maybe I just missed it )

And it is designed differently than than the 60" model with a riser that allows for clamping down something to the top. Plus the drawers are different no side door cabinet storage and sliding trays allows for easy access to the storage area under the bench top

And found this interesting too being there was some recent forum discussion on DC charging including using AC power inverters as an option. And what I had noticed about the current DC chargers at that point was that they were specific for either M18 or M12 so now there is a multi charger coming and depending on the price may make it more desirable but I dunno

I've LONG wondered why Milwaukee didn't make a combo 12/18 charger in DC!

But based on the pic it looks DC ONLY? The other chargers will plug into 110AC or a cigarette lighter w a cool folding plug.

In typical Milwaukee fashion, looks like 2 steps forward and 1 step back.

When you're on the road it really is nice to have the option of vehicle or wall charging.
